Rams Camp Live (Cooper Kupp): Monday Aug 2

Kupp looks stronger than ever. He is such a hard worker with a great positive attitude. It's hard to like him more every year but, I do.

Certainly, he has to be in the top 5 or better route runner. He may be even the best. Certainly, on third downs he is great. Stafford to Kupp may be unstoppable!
Especially with Robert Woods & DJ1.

Robert Woods when he ran at me just a few days ago was unbelievable his speed & hustle.
DJ1 just has an excellent feel for Mcvay’s offense.Even with all that speed he still finds the crease in the defense.Stafford has found him a few times in camp wide open.
—Just have to add Van Jefferson is an excellent route runner & was ranked the best coming out in the 2020 draft. Now add a season with Copper Kupp & Robert Woods .That is what we’ll make The Rams offense unstoppable.
—Yes Copper Kupp is all that & I said after watching him day 1 or 2 that he is going to be a 1,000 yard WR.I agree, but think the addition of Matthew Stafford at QB will make a even bigger difference than years past.He is so STRONG in the Pocket!!!
I enjoyed how comfortable he is always keeping his eyes downfield & moving his feet at the same time.He does not get raddle by the pressure.

—I was at SOFI last day of OTA’s,and after the practice went to the Pro Shop. There was a lot of number 9 Jerseys & also #10. Copper Kupp changes his Jersey last season.Still I did not see any #1 or #2 Jerseys if that is any indication??

A little disappointed

Seriously though ignore is a beautiful feature. I’ve got four or five on ignore. I’m not quick to pull the trigger but if I notice that a posters contributions are always negative or seem to always have a strange angle that seems contradictory of logic, then not seeing their posts keeps me from wanting to reply. It makes this place a more pleasurable experience.

If members get booted I’m sure that there is a good reason. The few that I know of that were removed or chased off fully deserved it.
I get a weird joy out of seeing other people in ridiculous disageements with the handful I have on ignore. It reinforces that I made a good choice. It also helps me be nicer.

I do love this board for the ability to interact without personal attacks. Even when two people are passionately arguing in one thread, you can see them agreeing and complimenting each other in another thread. It's nice that we can all remember we're Rams fans here.

Is the evolution of pitching making the DH universal?

The DH makes a lot of sense. It always did for a sport that often lacked offense.

On my sons travel team both coaches are college pitchers. They said they are PO’s. Pitchers only and do not bat. After seeing how batting and base running can affect a pitchers stamina I think it’s a good idea to use the DH. It makes the game more fun than when you expect an automatic out.

CAMP REPORT Camp Report Day 4: Sat July 31

They will probably carry 6 WR so I see Jackson as a protected PS player because DeSean is a one year contract. They normally carry 3 TEs so that would be Higbee, Harris and Hopkins. OL is set and they will carry at least 9 on the active roster. I can see Alaric either as a protected PS player or bumping Anchrum. Remember this year they will still have a 16 man PS with about 4 protected (can't be poached) players. Also, this year the PS can include veteran players as well. Protected PS players is really an expansion of the active roster without the salary implications. There is going to be a big roster turnover next year so Snead and McVay need to really pick their active and protected PS players well.

They can use those protected PS players to stash guys they feel they will need next year to fill roster FA losses. Guys that don't project beyond this year might make the roster simply because they probably would garner comp picks like Kiser, Howard and SJD. That is what makes it hard to project the Ram's roster each year. Snead and McVay love their comp picks, just look at the talent they find in rounds 2-4.

Podcast Ep. 68: Rams Training Camp Roundtable Special Edition

What I took away from this podcast? Jourdan was enamored with a certain player's hand size. :ROFLMAO: I know. Pretty sophomoric comment. So sue me.
Reminded me of this article:

Specifically this part right here:
“I don’t need to have seen Infinity War yet to know that, yes, I absolutely would with Thanos. He hits all my sweet spots: extremely tall, muscular build, all that purple (use your imagination for what’s hiding below), and a total megalomaniacal baddie. Or should I say, zaddy. Just picture that gravelly voice grunting in your ear and what That Fist could do. [Editor’s Note: Noooooooooo.] Now, I can understand why some are stuck on the whole cut-up chin thing, but when there’s just so much more of him to behold, honey, what’s not to like? Also he is played by Josh Brolin, a man who could get it any day of the week.” —Dee Lockett

10 things with Terrell Burgess

10 things with Terrell Burgess

1: Health update

Sarina: Let's get an update on your health. How's that ankle feeling?

Terrell: Feeling great, feeling really well. I'm excited for the season to start.

2: Tough to stop when you just got started

Sarina: What was the hardest part of getting through this whole process?

Terrell: I think knowing that the season was like over for me. Not the team, but like that I wasn't going to be able to play the rest of the season kind of sucked because I really felt like I was just starting to get my feet under me, and the season was going well for the team. I've never sat out that many games.

3: Cheer for everyone

Sarina: A lot of people are cheering for you to have a breakout/comeback season. Who are you cheering for on the team?

Terrell: I hope everybody has a breakout season. Then that means we're going to win the Super Bowl! (Laughs) So, I hope everybody plays well. I hope Matthew Stafford comes in and plays well. I believe he will. And maybe they'll finally give AD [Aaron Donald] MVP.

4: Sea him swim

Sarina: You were born in Oceanside, CA and lived near San Diego County much of your life. So, are you a good swimmer? A good surfer?

Terrell: Definitely not a surfer, I can swim pretty well, but I wouldn't consider myself a surfer. Far from surfer, I've never surfed before. I don't even know if I've ever stood on a surfboard before.

5: Rings and things

Sarina: Goals for the 2021 season?

Terrell: I don't know if I have any individual goals. I kind of just want to do what I can to help the team win. I want a chance to get out there and play more, more than I did last year obviously with the injury, but I mean everyone always wants to win the Super Bowl so let's roll with that one.

6: Who is the hype man?

Sarina: You get to work with one of the best corners in the league. What is something surprising about Jalen Ramsey, that maybe people aren't aware of?

Terrell: I think everyone like depicts him as some like huge trash talker but there's like a good balance in my opinion. I don't think it gets in the middle of him playing. He's a healthy trash talker. You want a little bit of that [in games], It makes it more fun and it just kind of hypes you up.

7: Some things can't change

Sarina: What is the movie you always watch when it's on television?

Terrell: Friday Night Lights. That's one movie that I always watch and every time I watch it, I hope they're going to win at the end. (Spoiler Alert) I hate it every time.

8: Three days in a row

Sarina: Would you rather have unlimited sushi for life or unlimited tacos?

Terrell: Tacos because I feel like I could eat tacos three days in a row. I don't know if I can eat sushi three days in a row.

9: What a combo

Sarina: What is your most prized possession?

Terrell: My college degree and my Rubik's Cube.

10: Hello neighbor!

Sarina: People are always yelling at the TV when they watch Rams games, do you also yell at the television when you watch?

Terrell: Oh, one hundred percent. I know my neighbors hated me from games eight through 19. Oh my goodness, I even had the windows open. Every Sunday. They definitely heard me.

50 coaches polled on who are the top QB'S in the league.

If you are playing in Detroit where , on the norm , you are getting sacked 40+ a year, it's hard not to get banged up.
Hopefully he will stay healthier on a team that will only allow around 25 sacks per year.
I am guessing he may get sacked more than Goff did because he will hang on to the ball longer trying to make a play... Like Russell Wilson does. Then again, minus Blythe the up the gut rush may not be as big a problem this yr.

CAMP REPORT Camp Report Day 3: Fri July 30

Early in camp coaches like to see guys that might be on the bubble play with the ones. Guys that they like but have issues like injury, i.e. guys like Kiser and Howard. That's not to say they won't make the team, but it will be a numbers game so they need to impress. They know what Reeder and Young can and can't do. So they are looking at different combinations to give them their chances. IMO this is exactly how it should work.

That said we shouldn't make too much of it so early. Preseason games are more telling. The Rams don't play ones or guys that are a lock to make the roster. Those guys playing are playing for a spot on the roster. The exception is oftentimes QBs who need the game work, and second unit OL who also need the game work. But for most WRs, RBs, and defensive players it is significant.

The Rams use their second unit guys in pre-season like most teams use their ones. They will get some game exposure early then the guys that are lower on the roster list begin to be rotated in. That will tell you more about who is or isn't likely to make the roster. Most of the guys in the last game aren't going to make the cut. There might be one or two that do but most won't. They will be playing to give them film for when they go shopping themselves to other teams. A whole lot of teams are going to snap up Ram releases like the Chargers, and Detroit especially.

Sean McVay likes what he's seen from Ernest Jones and Travin Howard

I don't make a lot of predictions but I think Ernest Jones will be the Jordan Fuller of this year.

(OK.... I actually do make a lot of predictions)

Totally agree!

There's a linebacker from yesteryear Jones reminds me of. That guy wasn't the fastest guy on the field either, but oh did he have instincts! Jones is comparable in size and speed - the "instincts" remain to be seen. That linebacker had a pretty good year in 1985 ..

CAMP REPORT Photos from Day 3, Fri 7/30/21

Any thoughts on the new Rams colors, no that you've got a glimpse of the helmets, etc. in person?
Hey Buddy! Long time no hear from!

I like the colors of the helmets and the style. It took awhile but they have grown on me.

Change is hard, got to move forward if not, well, then you're moving backwards...sort of....I guess you could be stagnate.

Waitress! More coffee please!
