And another comment, has there been a bigger assault to the eyes than these god awful Seahawks jerseys?
Our all yellow was close.

Rams are only remaining team to not play on grass; won’t see grass field until Week 9 vs 49ers

Turfshowtimes really desperate to find a subject for an article this week I guess. Mini-bye really stressing their article quota I guess.

Side note, I don't like New York's playing surface. Seems like there have been a lot of lower body injuries on that turf. Seems like abnormally so but maybe I'm wrong. But I just hope we get through this game without that turf biting us.

What's different from last year?

I was a Rams fan when Merlin Olsen was on the Rams. We had the #1 defense many times including I believe one season where we gave up only 10 points per game. We never made the super bowl during that time frame.

Today's NFL really hinges on your offense with a defense that can make a few stops and force a few turnovers.

That was the way the Rams won Super Bowl 34. A good defense plus the greatest show on turf.
That's what the Staley defense did so often last season until the Packer game.

Dissension on the 49ers?

I was talking to a friend who's a whiners fan. I told him Shanahan isn't all that. He had one good season plus 3 losing seasons. Right now they sit at 2-3 and things aren't looking that great for them (not that I care).

I also believe the whiners lost the super bowl because Shanahan was too worried about eating up the clock instead of trying to put nails in the coffin.

The only part that sucks is he's been good at giving us tough games. That changes this season.

NFL Top 8 Rankings by Conference (5 games)

Until I see more a couple more games, I can't swap out the 9ers and Vikings for a Sam Darnold and Justin Fields. I heavily considered it though .

Panthers are just a bit hurt right now. Once CMC comes back and maybe their CB Jaycee Horn, they'll be right back up there.

Bears still have a good D, and they've won their last 2. They actually are the better team right now, and Kirk Cousins has had 2 trash games in a row.

Week 5 - The Early Games

Thats the 2nd loss this year for the Lions where they came back… only to watch the defense give up chunk yards and lose on last second kicks.

Both crushing losses.

Against the Ravens… They gave up a 4th and 19, from the Baltimore 16… with 26 seconds left… Ravens manage to get into range for the Tucker record setter of 66yds. Ouch.

Honestly, I don't wish those kind of "rip your heart out" losses on anyone other than the 9ers, Pats and Seahawks.

What I love is how the Lions keep fighting.

I mean, you can't have your heart ripped out if you don't have one to begin with and the Lions are playing with tons of heart.

I'm rooting for them when they're not playing us.

Wilson's injury

Seems like it'll be the Dolphins or the Giants. Both have a young QB to trade, and both will have picks to trade. Yeah, Jones and Tua haven't been very impressive to this point, but both are guys who can function as stop gaps, at a minimum. You take a chance on the potential while grabbing a bunch of picks to find the next QB. This draft isn't looking too good for QBs right now, and the Seahawks don't have a first round pick.
Exactly my thinking, Jones and Tua can play for a year if they turn around and are the franchise QB you want you get bonus picks. If not it's a guy like Jared and many others have been, somebody to start until you pick that QB. They can always trade down with the 2022 pick and maybe pick up another first in 2023.

State of the NFC West

I watched it to. Wife was sick so it was free reign Sunday. I agree Lance is so raw. If he turns into something it’s going to take a long time. Their defense is still very stingy but with no Mostert, Kittle, Jimmy their offense is pedestrian. They might get stronger down the stretch like they always do but it might be too late.
I am absolutely shocked that being large athlete with a string arm didn't instantly make someone the bestest QB ever. Who knew it took more than that to play at the NFL level?

Not directed at you TexasRam. Just using your confirmation that he's raw AF as the jumping off point for a bad joke.

Aaron Donald is the Rams all time leader in sacks

Oh I was just giving the only possible explanation from the refs
I thought that was your real stance on that. My bad. I was thinking you were crazy for a minute there. It does track track with that other guy's opinion (he's a ref for HS or college or something) that it's okay to hold as long as your double teaming a guy, because you've made a choice to take that one guy out and committed extra resources. I don't understand that, but it does seem to be holding up.

Celebration thread!!!! Lets watch Hawk Talk!

Weed is the better choice in almost every way IMO, shame it's not legal more places. Gobshites in my government love dragging their feet while alcoholism runs rampant here. The price of a good whiskey is too high to really justify it, especially since I could get some decent weed for the same price in the States and have it last longer. A bottle of whiskey usually will last me a few days, vs the same price in weed could usually last me a week or two.

I’m using D8 rn and it’s so helping with the migraines and other issues. Alcohol would be terrible for migraines
