The goddamn winter Olympics also saw huge ratings so people watched the whole ceremony and post-game shit.

A Hollywood Super Bowl, in 3 Acts

Like a movie, Super Bowl LVI was a rollercoaster of emotions, with ups, downs, and a Hollywood ending:

Act 1: "I love it when a plan comes together!"
Things were going as scripted for the Rams from the opening gun until the 12:51 mark of the second quarter. Two touchdown drives and, apart from a long completion that set up a Bengals field goal, the defense was holding firm. The Rams were lined up to kick an extra point to take a 14-3 lead, when...

Act 2: A Series of Unfortunate Events
A botched extra point foreshadowed an avalanche of mishaps and misfortune. The Rams allow a long TD drive and then, disaster strikes with OBJ getting injured. The offense goes into disarray, ending the drive with an interception in the end zone. Then, when the second half opens, a blown call by the refs results in a long TD for the Bengals, and a drop by Ben Skowronek gives the Bengals the ball right back with a chance to expand the lead to two scores. Then, at the 14:18 mark of the third quarter, a hero emerged...

Act 3: "That's how winning is done!"
Aaron Donald gets two sacks to hold the Bengals to three points, keeping the game in reach. The rest of the defense follows suit, unleashing a vicious pass rush to keep the Bengals offense at bay, while the Rams offense regroups. The offense finds a way, with Matthew Stafford and Cooper Kupp doing what they've done all year - refusing to be shut down. Then, to seal the deal, Donald embraces his destiny as perhaps the greatest to ever strap on a helmet. Triumph!

All we're waiting on now are the mid and post credits scenes to give us a glimpse of what's next because, with a story this good... there's always a sequel!

Unsung Heroes of the Super Bowl

the ball was underthrown on that interception. he was running to the back of the endzone where he thought the ball would be. he turns around and sees it's 5 yards too short. stafford has been short on many of these throws this season. remember his last throw against the whiners in week 18. didn't hear anyone saying obj doesn't fight for the ball after that play.

on an incompletion his hand is being held and he can't haul it in with one hand. you'd like to see him make that play but you'd also like to see a flag come out for dpi.

he was all alone in the endzone and stafford sails the ball 5 yards over his head. is that his fault?

Two things about Van stood out to me-

1) He has to fight for 50/50 balls more. Its been a common theme this year and he never wins those balls. The INT was slightly under thrown but he never adjusted, never slowed down, never changed his body position, didnt even jump to try and catch it let alone try to knock it down. Those are basic deep ball tracking skills. The second pass you referred to was an absolute dime by Stafford that he didn't catch. He needs to win that handfight. Use a subtle push off like all great WRs do to create separation and make the catch. Again, he just never comes down with those 50/50 balls and Stafford needs WRs that can.

2) Other thing that stood out to me was even more concerning. All 2nd half after OBJ went out CIN played almost exclusively press man coverage and doubled/tripled Kupp. They didn't respect Van or Skowronek and didn't think they could beat them. And they were right. Neither got open vs very average corners, neither made plays. It was Brycen Hopkins winning on his routes and Stafford deciding to force the ball to Kupp in double coverage on the last drive that lead to us winning. Why couldn't Van get open and make plays? Why couldn't he win his 1-on-1s when it mattered most? Maybe I'm being overly critical but it's concerning to me given he's a 2nd rounder.

McVay's Legacy

It was anything but sure.....

The McVay Rams' had lost to his former boss Kyle Shanahan, 6 times in a row. The Rams were branded in Super Bowl 53 as a finesse team that could only score 3 points on the biggest stage. the Bullies from frisco invaded with all of their fans into SoFi to stake their claim to the 5 billion dollar stadium as Levi South.
We out bullied, the bullies.

The GOAT charged back from 27-3 to tie the game. Instead of tightening up and just trying to get to OT, McVay set Stafford loose to do what he brought him to LA to do, against his conservative 4th quarter urges. He went for the win instead of the tie, and retired the GOAT.
He went outside his comfort Zone and did what Super Bowl 53 McVay couldn't do and won.

Against all of the haters who wanted the new Joe Cool to win it all, Sean went to battle with his stars. Troy Aikman can suck it for all eternity, with his "All Star Teams Never Win" BS. Kurt Warner can wear his Bengals colored suit and stew in his juices, while Sean McVay vindicated his style of coaching and offensive schemes. He beat his former boss and his achieving coaching tree to the Lombardi. Two Super Bowl appearances and one ring in 4 years.
Sean's a bad man.

One of the things I have noticed in all of the interviews since the win, McVay constantly gives credit to everyone else saying “they are champions”.

He is always quick to take the blame and never any credit, great leader and motivator.

I would love to see him have a 25 year run with the Rams.

Branding and marketing. They need a 3rd QB to complete the new breed of Tommy, Peyton, and Ben to Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, and Joe Burrow. I have nothing against these 3 guys but the coverage annoys me more than anything.

Baby pudge face Matthew Stafford more known for Detroit aint that.
