I'm looking forward to the Rams' future.

Drafting might get a little harder as all the picks are late in the rounds. That's what happens when you win a SB but, more so when you get comp picks for leaving free agents and coaches. Trader Les doesn't have to trade to get his allotment of sixth-rounders this year. So far the Rams have done well letting certain players leave after their first contract while keeping a very good solid core of players. They were able to get out from under heavy contracts of Cooks, Gurley, and Goff without missing a beat. The Rams made trade decisions to keep improving which to lead to high-quality stars Ramsey, Stafford, Miller and Super Bowl trophy. Now, it's time to make decisions on free agents and set the draft board.

It's going to get very interesting to see who the Rams resign and who they let go. There is a lot of young talent that filled in this year and are ready to move up and grab more playing time. Another draft class will be added to the mix. By most accounts the Rams will have cap space to keep the team in the Super Bowl hunt for at least two to three years. The national media has little clue to the Rams process except for the flash trades. They will be eating their words soon enough.

It's obvious to me Troy Reeder is not the liability in run-downs as in passing situations. For three straight seasons, Reeder has yet to miss any games due to injury or sickness non of the Ram's LB'ers/Safeties or Corners can say that. The truth is the Ram's ILB'er unit has been plagued with injuries over those 3 seasons where Reeder was pressed into action. That's one very BIG positive with Reeder that none of the others can touch. If those safeties & ILB'ers would have remained healthy we would not seen Reeder on the field in passing situations where he could be targeted......Reeder has been the last man standing for many seasons!

The offering of an RFA tender to Reeder has to be forthcoming. If MLB'er Ernest Jones can beef up enough to remain healthy & FA Travin Howard is resigned along with Reeder the 2022 Ram inside the LB'ing unit should remain as good as it was this season.

Rams will also have strong safety Taylor Rapp (who is the best playing in an ILB'er post in passing situations only), SS/ILB Antoine Brooks Jr. (who was just signed) & MLB'er Christian Rozeboom who is also signed under contract & has been lurking on the Practice Squad & then on the active roster for the last two seasons.

I believe the combination of players working over in these ILB'er posts will work out very well for DC Morris this upcoming season. This will be economy cost moves too. This will allow Snead to concentrate on the edge defenders/ corners where big questions remain.

I'll say they do something like a 7 year, 260 mill contract with a 40 mill signing bonus, low 1st year salary (whatever lowest allowable is) and spread out the rest over the contract between base salary, roster bonuses etc. Fully guarantee about half of it.
Annual value around 37 mill, which is a raise from his current contract, and will still be at a "discount" since it wont even be top 5 QB money...

Signing bonus and guaranteed money will more than compensate Stafford for any discount. This is where Stan's financial resources and willingness to use them matters big time. Other teams can't always afford to front load money in bonuses and commit to guarantees.

You know what's funny, I was at the game and around a bunch of other Rams fans I didn't know. After the Donald play on 4th down we were saying the same thing to each other (in a manly we just won the SB kind of way....). The culture filtered down to even the fans....crazy....love this team.

Personally, I look at SJ’s situation similar to Archie Mannings or Gayle Sayers & Terrell Davis. Wether it be an injury or just and inept team. A HOF caliber player should not be hindered by it.

Manning has not been voted in but the other two along with Boselli have made it off of shortened careers.

SJ continually put up solid numbers in horrific offenses. I best guess is that the players committee will be the ones to get him in if it were to happen.

My understanding is that this rumor was started by Mike Florio, the consummate collie molester who has the reliability of a horoscope published in The National Enquirer.

It really makes little sense to me as a concept. The 49ers paid a King's Ransom for Trey Lance. The idea that they'll now pay more to trade for Tom Brady while letting Lance (who, as I noted, has played very little football in the last 2 years) sit on the bench doesn't seem very logical.

Of course, I've been wrong before (once or twice). :sunglasses:

You’re right, there are things that need to be improved but discrediting someone because of the color of their skin regardless of their ability or quality of volume of work they performed and a lot of what happened back in the 50s- 60s as a whole.

Speaking of jobs and getting equal opportunities, The Rooney Rule is a racist rule by concept since it only considers race and not ability which is racist by definition. Now the rule that was intended to create diversification is just a check box teams have to check before hiring who their going to hire anyways.

Also, if we are going to follow this way of thought of 75percent of the NFL is AA so 75% of HC, FO, and Owners need to be AA? That’s absolutely discriminatory and the whole concept behind that thought is completely racist.

If that’s the case we need to have the NFL reflect the exact percentages what the nation is to include opportunity, diversication, and inclusion.
So here we go:
60% white
18% Hispanic
12%AA
5% Asian
.07% Native American.

If a team doesn’t meet this criteria they are forced to give up all draft picks the following year and be hit with a 100 million dollars against the cap. This is a good idea right? Let’s force diversification. Where do we stop this mindless insanity that only focuses on race or ethnicity and doesn’t consider ability or experience.

Because it’s been proving time and time again that ability has nothing to do with it when it comes down to old white men having to hire black men.

And it’s been plenty of white analysis comparing Kupp to only white receivers as well it’s not just AA journalist. Conversely you have AA journalist calling out the disparity that Kupp is facing as well.

I’m glad we are having this conversation but no where did I say it had to be 75 percent owners or head coaches but with a league that’s over 75 percent black and only about 1 percent is in a head coaching position. That speaks volume.

Force diversification idk using terms like that really makes me think. Because doing what’s right and morally responsible shouldn’t ever be considered forced. But I guess when you live in a certain bubble it’s hard to fathom what others have to go through on a day to day basis.

It’s been proving that a AA man with the same degree more on the job training will get paid less that a white man with the same degree and even less on the job training.
So while people should be judged by their ability and experience that just not the case and we can be real about that.

Kupp is a football guy. To the causal fan and to the causal reporter who only like the one handed grab the over the top personas the elite speed guys Kupp won’t be on their radar. That’s why it took Bruce way longer to get in the hall of fame that’s why it’s taking Holt too long to get in.

Guys like that are always gonna be over looked even if he was black. But I can guarantee you when the players do their top 100 ranking I bet he be on there. Cause his peers which are mostly black know what type of Dog Kupp is
