Daniel Hardy, OLB Pick #235 - 7th round

Championship game below. He draws a round 4 OT for most of the game (Volson), real good look matchup-wise. Unfortunately the Bison run game neutralizes that Montana St rush but he does some good things.

86 for Montana St is our UDFA receiver we signed, Lance McCutcheon. He has an irritating series right before the half where he straight drops two nice passes down the sideline.

I hope Roger Carter makes the team!

Posted this on another thread Saturday, although it might be better here :

Strengths

  • A savvy, reliable pass catcher with good body control and focus. Soft hands and has the hand-eye coordination to secure wild throws.
  • Knee-bend and technique are good and he shows decent power when his hands hit the target.
  • Looks to get involved downfield and will block multiple defenders on a single play when he can. Understands his role as a blocker.
  • Shows good effort as a blocker and works hard to gain body positioning.

Quentin Lake, S Pick #211 - 6th round

His DC was terrible too. So many situations where that dude would dial up idiotic coverages and get burned. They were pretty bad for example in zero but that didn't stop the calls.
Absolutely. It was gut wrenching to watch us finally get it together on offense, just to watch us periodically implode defensively.

Lake is a real baller. He was our best defensive player....and really held it down for us.

He's going to get on the field for us.

Gruden/Mayock made Martz/Armey/Zygmunt look great by comparison.

They were terrible in free agency too....Tyrell Williams, LaMarcus Joyner, Trent Brown...and the disastrous trade for Antonio Brown..

They brought in Nolan Nawrocki as a scout.... This was the guy who gave Aaron Donald a 4th/5th round grade before the 2014 draft.

That should disqualify one from being an NFL scout... binary decision... was AD a 1st round pick to you? No?

Okay, I'mma need ya to head on over to the insurance agent's seminar, that's in Hall B, room 304...

Ramsey hinting - what’s next? (Mathieu)

All do respect to Hill I think most of us would agree if a superstar like Ramsey saying he can't wait to tweet about next move he cannot be referring to Hill? Can he? Like I'm ok with the like the familiarity depth etc. But one would think Ramsey being a star knows it takes another star to get fans excited. So there has to be something else. Good lord please love hill but he ain't no deon!!! Lol
Ramsey likes Hill and gave him a lot of credit for his play last year.

Poll: who do you predict will be Rams starting OG on opening day?

Could it be time to trade Havenstein? Make Edwards the right tackle, his best position in college.

Guess it would depend on if their is a market for Havenstein.

train
One big obstacle that comes into play when I consider this ...... would be the fact that this former starting college RT David Edwards has been the Rams starting OG since he was a rookie (2019).

The Rams have really not done much to anything to cultivate any real possible starting long-term OG's on the past & current OL rosters until yesterday's very late 3rd rd selection.

We sure have not seen this near 6-7 308lb Edwards play very many snaps @ RT since his rookie preseason. What we have seen from Edwards since he arrived is that he is a very good pass blocker as a Rams starting OG.

Last TC & preseason OL Carberry used Tremayne Anchrum @ RT along with working him in at the OG posts too. OT Alaric Jackson sure looked much better @ LT than he did anywhere else.

The Rams used their first selection in the 2022 NFL Draft on Wisconsin guard Logan Bruss, who was chosen in the third round, 104th overall.

Here's what you should know about him:
1) Sound in pass protection
According to scouting service Pro Football Focus, Bruss allowed only one sack since 2019 on 596 snaps.

2) Making a difference
According to his school bio, Bruss volunteered with Difference MAKER Football Camp for students with disabilities.

3) Band of Badgers
Bruss is the third Wisconsin product on the Rams roster, joining offensive lineman Rob Havenstein and David Edwards.

Edwards and Bruss' time at Wisconsin overlapped for two seasons – 2018 and 2019.
Login to view embedded media View: https://twitter.com/i/status/1520456396076060672

4) Athletic background
Bruss started three games as a blocking tight end during his redshirt freshman season at Wisconsin, as well as three at right tackle, before switching to offensive line full-time.

In high school, he lettered in track and was an all-conference selection in the discus and also played basketball.

5) Never not working
TheRams.com asked each of the team's draft picks, as you have developed in your football career from high school to now being drafted into the NFL, can you share how you were Always Working to get to this point?
Here was what Bruss had to say:

"Yeah, the cool thing with football is the love of the game can bring you a long way and for me with football, I kept setting new goals as I met him. At first, my goal was just getting into a college like Wisconsin, and then my goal became just playing and being a big contributor, and I just wanted to be the best player I could be for the rest of the guys, the rest of the coaches that put in all that work with me. So obviously, when you start hearing that playing in the NFL is a possibility, that just gives you more motivation to go chase a dream like that. I just think it's a constant cycle of getting better, leaning on the guys around you. They care a lot about you, they tell you what you need to improve. Just doing those things day in and day out has helped me get to this point."

Thinking about the draft today and....

HMMM Standard & Poors asked me to leave when I said I needed to speak my thoughts on things. In the real world truth can be dangerous if weaponized. But they did me a favor. OLD proverb handed down to me by my grandpa.

"When you hang around pigs you eventually become one." "los cerdos son para carnitas" (Pigs are for carnitas)

Even today over 40 years later, every time I eat carnitas I think of my old co-workers. Yeah, they made a lot of money but they had to sell their souls to do it. Yep, my grandpa came to the US in 1904 and became a citizen because he said he wasn't going to be a pig.

Be proud to speak your mind. Be proud to be an independent thinker. You don't wanna be carnitas in someone's burrito.

As Rams Fans, what do we do on draft night?

DRAFT 2022 NFL draft round 1: APR-28 / 8pm ET

i watched every Lions game last season. Young and inexperienced on offence with the exception of Goff and the tight end T J Hockenson. Literally no one to receive except Hockenson and Amon St Thomas. Jameson Williams should be huge for Lions offence. Lions were competitive and should/could be at or around .500 this season
train

I did too. He's still the same low ceiling, TO prone qb he's been in recent years. They'll win more game this season by default, they play the AFCE and NFCE, and the NFCE just got tougher with AJ Brown going to Philly.

Yes. I'm still salty about 2020. Very much so.
Not the same depth chart list for that team this time last year. Which is the point our guy Brad Holmes has done a masterclass in upgrading that roster after Patricia and the previous GM destroyed the team.

Look I get it. I really do. Things are looking better in Detroit. They are. Bit for me It's just that, on paper listed out as bullet points doesn't mean squat. Most of the players are still from the last group. We'll see. Prove it on the field not in April as a bullet list.
