QB Hints

I have faith in Foster McVay wanted him for RB coach plus it’s tough at UCLA. Football has always been secondary and being a State School seems to handicap them from time to time.
I get all that but they had a pretty easy Big 10 schedule, no Michigan or OSU. They tried to run Chip Kelly out of town for only winning 8/9 games a year. 18 ppg is pretty bad. If they go 4-8 or so next year with Nico, its likely they clean house

The 2025 NFL Pre-Draft General Talk

If the Rams are thinking RB they're in a great spot at 26. They can sit there and wait to see if Hampton is there. Maybe take a move down offer from a team like the Giants. Or if Hampton's off the board there will be other back options.

I don't think RB is their target at 26. But if it is they're in a real nice spot.
I would think to them he is a unique talent and if he isn't there they go to next BPA at WR, TE, CB etc.... Or maybe Treyveon Henderson?

Rams sign Troy Reeder - NOT April Fools

They did pretty good with Speights. :)
But we need somebody we can count on, early in the season, to step in, in case one of the starters is injured.
Improving our run stopping ability should be a priority I would think.
Agreed. I don’t think that there is a Linebacker in this draft that can do that.

Last years linebacker class turned out to be very good. Speights is included in that. I’m guessing we are looking at a Landman/Reeder competition alongside Speights this fall.

Warren Sharp's (Ryan McCrystal) new big board

Sharp does fantastic analysis of guys all over Twitter and has two guys on his staff who regularly do mocks that hit the top of the accuracy board for Huddle Report.

Hoooo boy does he have some different takes.
Thanks for posting. This board is maybe the best I have seen

Schrager's Mock

maaan no matter what we're going to have a very tough decision to make tonight.
Bech in a move-down would be fine... but would you rather have a real move TE like Loveland & stay at 26, or trade down & get a "mini-TE" in Bech & an extra pick? what if Loveland AND Dart AND Egbuka AND Omarion are there?? tough, tough decisions gonna get made.
This is what makes the draft so fascinating.

Re: TE let me just say that what I want is a future Hall of Fame level stud. Someone who is going to chalk up big offensive contribution numbers year to year for the next decade. Which means he has to be an option route threat. Problem of course is I have no idea which of these guys bring that intelligence to translate in the option routes. But the Rams need to find it because in this draft there are many options to choose from.

Also keep in mind that many of the best TEs don't go early. Kittle is probably the best in the biz right now but he had all sort of knocks on his pass game acumen, he was seen as raw when he came out. In fact the TEs who go top ten tend to fizzle out. It's the projects who end up sorting into beneficial offenses that hit big. So the Rams are one of the offenses where that should happen.

Which makes it even more irritating that we haven't been able to find McVay a top TE. Because we have the ideal QB for making use of that type of weapon to keep the chains moving.

State your 5 guys who have the best chance to be the Rams first selection.

Why? There have been plenty of whispers that several teams have a 1st round grade on him. So doubtful firing would result.
He might be on some teams board for 1st round (Consensus board says mid 40s but it only takes one team). I’m NOT saying no for any team in first round. I’m saying NO for Rams at 26. Solid player but NOT the explosive offensive Player I’m hearing consistently the Rams covet in this draft.

Mock Draft Contest

First four Rams picks would be fun but trades will probably jumble things up.
That wouldn't be a bad idea: name the first five Rams picks in order, regardless of where they are actually picked after trades.

You get 5 points for the right player in the right place, two points for the right player in a different place and one point if it's a different player, but in the same position, in the right place.

Early Thoughts on NFL Draft

If we are trying to trade up for a TE, I'd look to Atl especially considering if the Colts don't take one, we'd need to grab before teams like hags and tenants can get one.
Don't trade up for anything IMO. If anything trade back get a 2nd 3rd and whatever depending on how far back you trade and take Fannin or Ferguson. Trading up to the top 10 for a TE or RB is a terrible idea IMO.
