The 53rd Man: What It’s Like to Fight for That Last Roster Spot

Some GMs will try to hide a rookie they like by limiting his playing time in the preseason, as if to signal he doesn’t belong in the NFL. That way the player would theoretically slide through waivers unclaimed, and the original team could sign him to a cheaper contract and stash him on the 10-man practice squad. Other teams could still sign a practice-squad player to their active rosters, but they would also be less likely to do so if the player lacked any substantial amount of film.
Interesting strategy.

Bucky Brooks: Gurley vs. Gordon

Doubts about the ACL is one thing. Saying Gordon is more explosive and has better vision than Gurley is another. Gurley is also significantly faster than Gordon past the 10 yard mark.

Oh I didn't read the link yet, I gave Bucky a pass because I generally like the guy. You hit some and you miss some, this was his miss probably lol.

My ACL comment was more on why alot of "experts" were higher on Gordon and Gurley at the time. They all try to take the "safe pick" and ACLs tend to be "risky" but we know how that turned out :D

Pre-Season Game 4 Position Battles ...

While this^ is well thought out, and I agree with it as far as you went! I'm not sure we keep all 6 of the Safeties we have on the Roster right now!
WR by far is going to be the hardest one to decide upon!!(y)

I didn't mention all the Safeties because I feel the position battles are settled. Davis, Alexander, McDonald & Bryant. jmo.

Wow, that's how long Bulger's been gone??? I think Sam's last preseason we looked dangerous....but alas....
Talent, and Boras with Groh...I see the possibilities...plus Goff is the only one trying "wow" throws....but if you look close...you can see it...look close....close....you are getting sleepy...wait?

Crap !!! Bulger could never throw a TD in preseason after signing that big contract.

-- The thing most Ram fans forget is SJ was coming off his 2,000 all/purpose

Yeah -- Bulger ?? He Was real bad in preseason after signing his big contract.

I was all in on Locking SJ39 up(JZ :-( )
Wanted to let Bulger holdout !!!
-- 2006 was the year to draft Jay Cutler !!

SJ39 had 2335 all/purpose yrds in 2006.

The Rams have been bad ever since. I've been a Rams fan for a long time. The Rams have had QB. Controversy way back.

-- Well as far as Sam went ?? He would still walk to the huddle & then do the famous Bulger wasted timeout routine.

Top Isis Leader Killed! Uh...Wow...

The oppressive US Military warriors have hunted down and killed a top ISIS leader Abu Muhammed Al Adnani in an air strike. Conflicting reports give credit to Russian air strikes. But be sure, Adnani, (pictured here) has been put on waivers...er...

Difficult decision you choose! (Poll)

I have this slightly strange obsession with really well executed running plays.

I love watching a pulling guard leading his running back through the line before cleaning out a linebacker. I love watching receivers blocking downfield. It all combines to create this thing of beauty. Sad, I know.

That's why I voted Gurley.

Donald blowing up a play in the backfield would be my second choice.
