Preparing for My Waterloo In College Football

Did he throw the ball more than 10 yards? I mean other than the INT that got overturned or the tipped ball that got caught....
I have no problem giving credit when its due, but this kid is so criminally overrated. Now Blake Corum on the other hand, what a beast!

Netflix comedy specials

I always loved the Louis CK specials but then he had to go and get himself cancelled.
I saw him in a seedy comedy dive club in Tampa when he was starting to tour again about 4 years ago.

I was literally about 3 feet from him my knees jammed against a stage that was barely 2 feet high, and his opening joke was 'I used to play arenas'

He was fucking brilliant - one of the darkest sets I've ever seen (and I've seen Doug Stanhope 8 times and Jim Norton). He was obviously very bitter about the whole thing. Understandably IMHO.

A comic genius.

Your Controversial Rams Takes

Spags ruined Bradford.
Agree ... Fish tried ... but also, Bradford has weakness in pocket, no real feel.
No offensive line aside from Saffold, no real weapons aside from S-Jax
Agree. Line was a 4-5 of a 10 as a unit or "room" from what I have been told.
and his coaches only allowed him to check down.
No, and some yes.

He did throw short a lot, but they were not all checkdowns. They were short, conservative play calls. Gibson and all the outside guys were not good. Amandola was only guy who could "win". As a group the grade I have been told was a 4 of 10 for the unit.

A checkdown is a little different ... and he didn't do it as much as the "rep". People called him a checkdown artist but there is a little bit of difference.

But the result? Yes, you are right, was not a downfield passing game. No blocking, no weapons.
Would we have been better off with Suh? Absolutely, but it's
Yes
not Bradford's fault that coaching and poor play ruined him.
Agree

GAME DAY 2024 Bowl Week Viewing Guide - Game Thread

I thought they should stay on the gas, to at least get another 1st down.
Penix was on fire. Let him play out until they could kill the clock to zero.
I don’t agree with going into that drive with (somewhat) intent on punting.
Ok. But Texas needed a TD to win. A FG would not do it for them. If Washington took a knee to drain the clock that series, Texas would have had to drive almost the entire field to get the TD. So, I think that would have been tough to do and therefore best to take the knee. I definitely agree with you on many occasions you need to get the 1st and ice the game. I just don't think that strategy was the one to do in this situation.

GAME DAY SaNF - Lions at Cowboys Game Thread

Before the play, the ref told the defense that #70 was an eligible receiver. Would the Cowboys have guarded #68 if they knew he was eligible? Hard to know.

The problem is that without any Timeouts, the Lions could not correct him.

What he should have done is acknowledge his fuck up and called it a dead play and replayed the down.

I mean the fuckup happened (presuming it wasn’t on purpose), so that was the answer, but instead, he refused to admit his error and screwed the Lions

Playoff Seeding

I’m not sure who I’d rather face right now. Detroit went to Dallas and won the game , except for the zebras. Detroit’s crowd will be wound for sound , but the Rams are used to being the visitor. Even at home
Who cares who we play? We got Matthew the No-look Gunslinger riding into town to kick arse! We got Kupp & Nacua running the primary passing lanes with Robinson & Tutu "Hey!, I block too!" Atwell in secondary passing lane support! We got Kyren "Shifty Nifty" Williams leading the infantry and AD99 and his proteges ready to slam the door on anything the opposing offense wants to try.

The opponents are saying, "Damn!!!, we gotta play the Horns!!!" :fistbump1:

I hope Les and Sean have learned

Agreed that with McQuaide as the snapper, Johnny as the holder and young GZ kicking, we had the best special team unit in football. Those three guys all went to the Pro Bowl the same season.

I still marvel at Zeurlein's composure in that Saints game. In that atmosphere and with the Super Bowl on the line, game winning kick was never in doubt.
That kick would have been good from 70, easy. That sucker hit the middle/top of the net from 57!!

Snaps Vs NYG

I am not worried about Jackson as of now. It could be something bad, sure. But it could just as easily be nothing nefarious and they are keeping it private out of respect and courtesy for the player because, as stated, it is a personal matter. Until we have reason to suspect the former, I am not going to jump to conclusions. Particularly as I do not believe Jackson has any sort of bad character history? But I am open to correction on that point.

Philosophy needs to change.

I'd like to see him in our defense but locking him down in FA would require considerable money invested into ILB. Not sure the Rams would want to do that. It's like with safety, just one of those positions they seem to prefer addressing in the draft. But I wouldn't mind them doing that.

Just feels like CB is more likely. Or one of the positions the Rams seem to prioritize more.

WR is kind of the same. Of all the FAs this next year the one I like the most is probably Evans who is a wideout and it is unlikely the Rams pay him when they've got so much in Kupp. I think he'd step right in and our offense would kick serious ass but have to admit it's a longshot at best. But however they approach this thing I want a lot of effort put into defense. I prefer to have a top defense, nothing I hate more than seeing opponents drive on my team.
The investment ties into who the DC will be in 2024 (?)

If Morris gets a HC job, as many believe, the next DC will hopefully be in place before the start of FA. I would personally love a beast at LB. We shall see.

Ernest Jones

Ernest Jones did have a mini-slump but Jourdan reported that he played a couple of games he shouldn't have but gutted it out. He impressed from the day he got on the field with some things but this year he's been excellent in all areas...not perfect in coverage but he's Pro Bowl worthy but will only be an alternate IMO. Before he got hurt he was at the level and since be got healthy he's been even better.

He really helped thing when he got healthy in 2021 ... he's a player that "gets it".
