just an fyi - Troy Reeder faster 40 time than Ernest Jones.

Reeder is a JAG but he isn't slow.
He may have a decent 40 time but I bet my 90 year old grandmother can beat him in a shuttle run. Guy cannot change direction to save his life.

Try again.

Ernest jones 20 yard shuttle 4.38
Troy Reeder 20 yard shuttle 4.14

He just wasn’t right, physically, for a stretch this year.

He’s balling now.

Ernest Jones is good versus the run. He makes a lot of plays in the backfield.

I don't think he will make Pro Bowl (Warner and Wagner) but he will be an alternate
IMO, for whatever that is worth ... he's a 2nd tier off the ball linebacker, IMOView attachment 62827
It would be awesome if he turned down the pro bowl because he's getting ready for the super bowl.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us.

Jones has emerged into a top 5 lb'er. He is an excellent run stopper, a good pass rusher, and solid in pass coverage.

Most phenomenal though - only TWO missed tackles the entire season. That is INSANE.

Rams have let good LB'ers go in the past. Would be a huge mistake not to keep Ernest around.

Think he always adds wasted extra steps.

According to their own stat sheet.
Yeah, you have to wonder where the media team is getting their stats, or how they're counting. NFL.com no longer seems to keep stats on retired players, and I couldn't find tackles for Jim Collins but looking at some of the more recent names on this list and comparing it to espn and pro football reference they're not close.

2000 London Fletcher according to the media team 117 -solo, 76-assist, 193- total
per espn 105-solo, 27-assist, 132- total,
pfr: 106-solo, 27- assist, 133- total

James Laurinaitis

ESPN
2009: 107- solo, 13- assist, 120- total
2010: 98- solo, 16- assist, 114- total
2011: 105- solo, 37- assist, 142- total
2012: 117- solo, 25- assist, 142- total

PFR
2009: 108- solo, 13- assist, 121- total
2010: 98- solo, 16- assist, 114- total
2011: 105- solo, 37- assist, 142- total
2012: 117- solo, 25- assist, 142-total

2016 Ogletree
Media team 132- solo, 39- assist, 171- total

Yep he’s been balling out as of late.

I take back my disturbing lack of faith in him.

I too, have to admit I’ve come around. I didn’t “see it” the first half of the season. He wasn’t lousy, just ok.
He’s really coming on now—just at the right time.

They are publishing the coaches stats ... and that is okay but they need to identify that they are not using press box stats... but Rams only began doing that in 1995 under Willie Shaw and continued through Gregg Robinson ... I didn't check but I bet the numbers under Phillips, Staley and Morris are about the same as ESPN or NFL.com

Ernest Jones did have a mini-slump but Jourdan reported that he played a couple of games he shouldn't have but gutted it out. He impressed from the day he got on the field with some things but this year he's been excellent in all areas...not perfect in coverage but he's Pro Bowl worthy but will only be an alternate IMO. Before he got hurt he was at the level and since be got healthy he's been even better.

He really helped thing when he got healthy in 2021 ... he's a player that "gets it".
