Watson looks very good but how good is Houston's defense?

Watson has made a whole lot of plays and TD’s vs the prevent in junk time (see the Chiefs game) that have skewed the stats, and his interceptions are cringe worthy. He’s heavily mistake prone. He threw 30 Interceptions in his final 2 years at Clemson including 17 in 2016. He is deadly accurate at times and throws with great anticipation but he has been labeled as a one read QB, with an inability to read a defense and go through progressions.

...scrimmage while your interior pressure forces Watson into interceptions and bad plays.

If we come out flat or with mistake prone Football sure they can beat us, but if we are on our game and Wade dials up the right defense, I am not worried.

whereas we WILL Get to Watson.

Good post

There is a bit of flavor of the week to the Texans, who are still a 4 loss team.

Rams have the best pass rush they have faced. Let's see how they manage AD, Brockers and the LB's, who have gotten better every week.

Giants first...

The Early Games

Hell, Case Keenum is tearing up the league. :D

Best QBs on throws outside of the pocket
BY WILLIAM MOY

3. CASE KEENUM, MINNESOTA VIKINGS
Passer Rating: 114.1
Keenum has connected on 24-of-41 attempts outside of the pocket so far this season for a total of 302 yards and four touchdowns. 72.5 percent of his passing yards on throws outside of the pocket have come after the catch (219 of 302), the fourth-highest rate among these QBs.

Mark Barron has become one of the best linebackers in the NFL

I loved Barron's reaction to the game winning fumble he and Tree created last year vs Seattle. Zero emotion. Just chillin' and shit(to be fair he may have been banged up). I want to believe Barron is a very bad man, just not criminally. According to wikipedia Barron was traded due to unprofessional behavior. Probably cause his relationship with team mates was indifferent.

My older brother is a Bucs fan so i'm loving Barron and how he's fit in with the Rams. We lost a 4th rounder that Tampa ended up trading to move up and draft a freakish LB in Kwon Alexander....a kid who might actually be better than Barron.

If there's a team with a better pair of LBs than us it's either TB, Sea, Jax or Oakland. Maybe i'm biased but I think Ogletree is bound to be first team All Pro before his career is through. . He's definitely not going to sneak up on any knowledgeable fans - my fantasy league roster requires 3 individual defensive players(linebackers fill out most team's starting rosters) and Tree was first defensive player drafted yet they laughed when I drafted Barron as nobody had any intentions of drafting him before round 17. I do tend to over hype Ram's players - annoying everyone along the way.

Peter King: MMQB - 10/30/17

I haven't watched the Seattle v. Houston game yet....but I want to.

How do you throw for 400 yards up there? As a rookie?!?

It was very impressive, DW didnt care who was covering if he saw 1 on 1 coverage he threw at it, even ole dick sherman got picked on. He also had 2 picks, but DW didnt back down, he will be very good if not great. DW even knows to slide and protect himself, unlike most dual threat QBs.

Anyone have a Google Home or Amazon Echo

I have a Dot. Use it for music regularly, have a light that turns on with a command, ask questions of it sometimes, play games occasionally. Dot is okay for sound, if you want you can stick a pair of speakers with it and it will sound better than most of the other Alexa series, still for less. My step grand-daughter carries her Dot around (extra battery pack) and plays with it all the time.

Probably will get another soon for the bedroom, along with another wifi light and maybe a smart thermostat.

Around thanksgiving I'd expect a big sale on them

Current Depth Chart

The Depth Chart on the website is much better than it has been in the past, they actually update when players are released now, but in some aspects, it's not 100% accurate. @BonifayRam is right on point that Darrell Williams would be the backup to Whitworth as Lucas has never been active on game day and was not with the Rams during preseason. Rams seem to keep only 7 active Offensive Linemen on game day and that has been so far, the starting 5 with Blythe & Williams as reserve. Williams on the depth chart is listed as the number 2 RT, but has played both tackle positions.

They signed Cornelius Lucas as a developmental player that can learn under Whitworth, Lucas has great size for the position at 6-9 330lbs so I am sure that is part of OL Coach Aaron Kromer's plan and it has been shocking that Andrew Donnal (who can play all the positions except Center) has not been active, would like to understand what injury he had that kept him out of camp and preseason, but again I've been a tad verbose, but Williams would be the first tackle of the bench.

Goff's interception

I think he tends to overthrow on sideline passes because he doesn't want to *under*-throw and risk an interception.

I've been watching re-runs of our games over the weekend and I'm with you on the sideline passes - he does seem to over-cook these throws, but it seems to be by design, the growth of the guy has been immense this season, I have faith in the Rams O this season and I haven't felt this way for a very long time.

We're damn good on all phases at the moment

Fansided; Rams are for real

I did not see some lost kid looking like a bust last year. I wanted Fisher gone years ago. Dumb as a rock. It was so bad I knew at least half the time the kind of and location of the play. What do you think NFL DCs saw ?
It was a joke, two horrible OCs in a row. In WAY OVER THEIR HEADS. I like the idea of taking a defense by surprise, making them guess. Fishers idea of a good offense was them knowing what you are going to do and can not stop it. Fred Flintstone might as well been the OC.
I seen a rookie QB with talent, but no help. Receivers dropping key balls all the time. Defenses stacking the box with a O line that could not get it done.
This is how dumb Fisher was. Gurly had a great rookie year but then changed the whole O line blocking scheme. Went to zone blocking. How did that work out for you Fisher.
There was only one good thing about keeping your worthless ass around this long. If we would have gotten rid of you a year or two ago, we would not have had the shot at McVay.
How does it feel to have a rookie HC come in and lay everything you have done for the last 6 some odd years to waste.
Had the worst offense in football last year. Historically bad offense. Worst receiving corps in football. Terrible O line blocking. Get rid of your worthless ass and all of a sudden we have a great receiving corps, highest scoring offense in the NFL and a O line that grades out the best in football with only changing 2 starters.
You Jeff Fucking Fisher are abject failure.

The Los Angeles Rams have a extremely bright future ahead of them and the sole reason for that is kicking your ass to the curb.

The Case for Overpaying for QBs in NFL Draft Trades

I couldn't understand what they did this year more so. They already used their #1 pick one a stud de and were sitting there at #12 with Watson falling into their lap. Beyond belief.

.
kurtfaulk, I had forgotten that the Browns passed on Deshaun Watson TWICE on draft day, at #1 and again at #12. Amazing. Check out this article, “If the Browns pass on DeShaun Watson it’ll be like passing on Michael Jordan.” What idiots
