Dude, you live in Florida, bridges everywhere. I love going across bridges. Well, except for that one in Louisiana that feels like about 40 miles long and it's pretty old, seems like narrow lanes. It's actually only 11 miles long. I went across it in a damn deluge.
I believe the Rams will draft an Edge, or possibly a road paving offensive lineman or a stout defensive lineman.
I don't think there will be adequate value in drafting a mid to late 1st round QB, plus we already have Stafford who's playing at a high level, possibly the best in the NFC, plus Jimmy G and Bennett. (I was ok with Jimmy G signed for minimum wage).
Looking at the FAs we signed, it looks like the Rams are in "win it all this season" mode. But it also looks like the Rams are being more cautious to avoid having salary cap hell in the near future.
You knows KOOL Steve is that Jimmy G is a Ram & he actually might be BETTER than Brock Purdy if you can keep The Pocket Clean.
Getting Stetson back completes The 2023 RAMS DRAFT that could be The Best Ever NFL Draft in Modern Times. Maybe actually EVER NO MATTER when you think about EVERY RAM DRAFTED in 2023 made The RAMS ROSTER of a Playoff Team & was (THE) one of The MOST PLAYERS DRAFTED !!
I mean WTF RAM FANS - I mean Les Snead got COVID in 2020 & had to HORRIBLE DRAFT when you look at all 4 years. They were able to help win a Super Bowl though which was awesome though.
I feel a surprise coming, but only in The Fact The Rams have a couple players circled.I have mine & can only hope. Tyler Johnson the 9er Beater just resigned & Robinson is back.
IMO Rob Gould has had time to watch film plus he knows & tried to recruit a few of these kids(young men) coming out.I think with this Offensive Line The Rams have would really dominate with an extra STUD RB !! I see 1 being drafted at least by The Rams by the 3rd(4th Rd).
I do not see an Offensive Lineman unless Alaric Jackson isn’t resigned or The Value is too good to pass up. I do like how veteran this group is & think The Development of there young players will continue.Maybe developing another Alaric Jackson type that gets overlooked ?
—Les Snead already addressed his thoughts & the way I interpret it is like 2022.The Rams wanted CKC plus the year before Trent Williams.
The thing was The Rams couldn’t afford it(them) They Traded for VON MILLER & picked up OBJ as a FA mid season. The got a comp pick for Baker Mayfield.Signed Carson Wentz.
My point is it’s like The MLB come trade dead line & teams are unloading players that can’t keep & need to move on from plus develop young players for following seasons.
I wonder what a full offseason of NFL strength and nutrition, plus experience will do for him. Seems to be a football player and might be able to contribute in a rotational role.
I have greatly enjoyed reading and watching (national and local media, and this Forum) comments, analysis and opinions about Michael Penix this season and off-season. Figure it will continue to be entertaining for the next four weeks until the Draft.
It's fun to discuss, analyze and debate the talent and potential of future NFL QBs, and one with the history of Penix (on-field play and injuries) is so interesting because the opinions are ALL-OVER-THE-PLACE.
Watching where Penix gets drafted, and how he develops should be fun.
Personally, and I posted this during the college season, I love the way he throws the ball ... from his release, to arm strength and especially, his accuracy. From what I can gleam (always difficult to tell) there's intelligence, maturity, leadership and the all-important motivation to succeed.
The injury history is a major concern.
I think Michael Penix gets drafted in Round One; and, in a good situation (coaching, talent around him and some patience) he will be a quality NFL starting-QB. However, I don't want him for the Rams simply because I would like the 19th pick to be used in a way to help the 2024 Los Angeles Rams.
I like Penix! ... I am a little uncomfortable typing that. And, a little disappointed in myself for feeling that way.
The Ladd McConkey pick is interesting as well as Trice. I agree we need another WR and of course an Edge. Will be interesting to see what the brain trust is cooking up.
I think the only reason why Earnest Jones blitzed so much was simply because the Rams could not generate enough pressure from the D-line alone. He was very good at blitzing the QB but the secondary could have used him in the middle too.
Part two of pro day coverage from March 28 focuses on what took place in Seattle as the Washington Huskies performed for scouts as well as notes on Shrine Bowl star Khristian Boyd.
The Rams have been successful in selecting football smart with a big heart to win. They don't go by just ability.
So maybe this kid will pay off one day even in a trade scenario. He crushed it in Athens with the Dawgs.
Jake's podcast is as good or better than any of the network nonsense.
Has a Rams slant of course which is nice.
It always seems when the Rams are up the networks either go to commercial or continue talking about the Cowboys, Whiners, Mahommes or some other star player.
Most of the draft coverage offered by networks is unwatchable.
Latu may not be the best athlete, but he’s the most skilled pass rusher In this draft class. His selection permanently ends the Hoecht EDGE experience.
T.J. Tampa gives the team the big physical CB it needs in the division. Capable in zone and press, my guess is the Rams new coach (Scheelhasse) who came from Iowa State had already told the team all about him.
This kid has too much upside to pass on if available at this selection. He can spell the starters and even allow Latu to shift inside on obvious passing downs from time to time to better the pass rush.
IMO, too much focus upon finding someone close to Aaron Donald would be a huge mistake. There’s only one. Here the Rams grab a solid DE capable of stuffing the run and pushing the pocket to join the rotation.
Depending upon who you read, this small school product was destroying opposing OLinemen during Hula & Shrine Bowl practices. He may prove to be enough to back up and maybe push Bobby Brown III while Kobie Turner moves to Donald's spot.
This kid runs around like his hair is on fire. I love the attitude. He has the length and may have the coverage ability too keep that extra safety off the filed during obvious passing downs.
TRADE
Rams trade two 6th round selections (#195 & #209) to Saints to move into bottom of the 5th round (#175)
5-175 Audric Estime, RB, 5113, 221 (Acquired from Saints/mock trade)
If not for that 4.71/40 at the combine, this kid would probably be gone a round or two earlier. He’s not the homerun back most probably want, but this big bruiser plays faster than that to me and fits the offense like a glove.
6-195 (Traded to Saints in Mock Trade)
6-209 (Traded to Saints in Mock Trade)
Glover is a 5-year starter with 34 ½” arms. After a strong showing in the Hula Bowl, he was a late call up to the Senior Bowl where he was said to fair pretty well. With an 80.7 PFF pass blocking grade he was said to also hold his own vs. North Carolina and LSU.
Some are calling for the Rams to go WR early, but this is a DEEEP draft class at the position that should have some late round gems. This could be one of them. This kid has good speed, great hops, and was said to be uncoverable during Shrine Bowl practices.
No college experience and just 1 year of CFL football. But he was voted the CFL’s Most Outstanding Rookie, has good speed, and also was said to shine during Shrine Bowl practices.
