2018 ROD $$$ RAMS DRAFT THREAD

OK - so we actually have only one member that got any of them right. With a total of one correct pick, @jrry32 hits on Jamil Demby - Guard - Maine U. Being that it was a 6th round pick, jrry receives a nice pick up of $20,000.00 ROD bucks. Nice pull Jrry.

Other mentions of note:
@DaveFan'51 hit on Micah Kiser but unfortunately in the wrong round
@jrry32 hit on Scales but missed the round
@bomebadeeda also hit on Kiser in the wrong round
@OldSchool hit on OBO and Kiser but in the wrong rounds
@12intheBox hit on Scales but missed the round
@Ram65 also hit on OBO but in the wrong round

We may figure out a way to give out some honorable mention prizes but congrats to Jrry for at least hitting on one of the picks. I think it just goes to show that as much as we all try to guess the draft, we have a totally different set of "facts" and values for the players.

Thank yawlz for playing and stay tuned.

Snead Addiction?

I cant help but wonder how much later in the draft we could have picked up these 2 and used the R4.111 and R4.135 picks on contributors this year like D Hand, J Sweat, D Armstrong, M Hurst or S Griffin. Am I being short-sighted or greedy?

While it's impossible to know for certain, I figure that NFL teams have a much better idea of which prospects are being considered by other teams than fans do. Scouts know who the other scouts in attendance at events are, who they work for, and how high up they are. They see if the higher ups attend pro days, and who they are paying attention to. While I'm sure there are surprise interests on the day of the draft, I suspect they are fairly rare. In the end, it's better to take the guys you value the most, and not try to game the system too much.

DTR 100: Ranking the Top 100 NFL Players

Going into 2018 I believe it's unfair to leave Goff off in favor of Mariota. I still believe Mariota is better but this is on a wait and see approach. Mariota had a dreadful year last year due to all of the injuries he played with and the middle school offense they ran. Now he's with LaFleur, watch out!
Ha!
I never saw LaFleur sitting on a cooler, figuring out devastating new plays while the defense was doing its own thing during a gam!. I think LaFleur was out getting a $10 Bud Light during the games last year!

PROGRAM ALERT!!

Not sure if this is the clip they showed but it's what's linked on the Rams site. Of course they had to let a Charger go along for the ride.

Is that the one where they ask ED and Tomlinson about the best venues they’ve played in and ED essentially said that when he played they were mostly shit holes? :ROFLMAO:

Rams sign Brian Womac OLB

Considering where we were drafting, between the LBs we drafted, and the UDFA LBs we picked up, I believe we are going to have a real good group of LBs, both with the starters and the depth. There are going to be a couple of good LBs that the Rams will have for their practice squad. This group is far better, at least on paper, than I think most us thought it would be.

Yeah I can agree with this. Given that I would have taken Oko in round 3, I am damn happy we ended up with that dude later on. Not as high on Kiser, but you know I'd love to be wrong about him so we'll see.

Rams do look pretty good, although it's important to remember that not all these late round and UDFA guys are gonna work out. Most of them in truth are going to be cuts and have either practice squad or very short special teams type careers at best.

Womack I admit I do have a good feeling about, that he could beat the odds like Longacre. I just have nothing solid to base it on so don't want to get all hyped on him. Other dude like that is the TE McElroy, who again I just don't have enough on to let myself get crazy about but he's on my short list to watch in camp.

And speaking of camp the drills and scrimmages this year are going to be a great time. Can't wait to meet up with some of the faithful and watch some of these young bucks try to forge careers it's gonna be fun.

Adam Schein... Rams are #2

Adam Schein is so into names. He calls Carlos Hyde a quality player? Hyde disappointed and has been injured. But, he was a high draft pick so he must be good.

He throws Honey badger into the mix as a reason Houston will be good and I don't buy it. If HB was so good Arizona would have kept him.

David Johnson is the best RB in the NFL......because he told Schein he is %100, and will get 1500 yards rushing and 1000 yards receiving? I'd hold off until game 8 to start thinking that may be possible.

Mahomes will be great? Maybe, I guess.

Then he states that he hated the Browns draft because they took the fourth best QB, and passed on the best defender. How does he know this for a fact? Who knows if any of these QBs pan out and who knows if Chubb will be better than the corner the Browns chose?

Then there is the 'Desean Watson is special', bit. The media is so infatuated with running QBs. I don't get it. Watson blows out a knee in season one, and Wentz blows out his knee in season two. That is the way most running QBs end up. As pure passers the usually fall a little short in comparison to the top QBs. Personally, I hate running QBs. I like passes. I also like the ball thrown to receivers. If I was a Seattle fan, I would have quit watching their games by midseason. One man making all the plays is boring. I loved Dickerson but those Rams were boring.

I should take it for what it is though. Scheming is playing the part of NFL hype man. Gotta keep the fans interested between the draft and training camp.

New Facebook Behind the Grind

Some of those exercises Cooks was doing I'd never seen before. It was almost like they were not only trying to stretch him, but they were trying to turn him into a contortionist. It almost hurt to watch it, but somehow I found it fascinating at the same time. Just shows how much effort goes into being a professional football player.

Tell Sammy that as he cashed his checks.

This guy rules, wish he was in horns

I would seriously like to be around some of you guys when you were 20 yrs old and in college.
I'm sure all these critical voices on here were absolute angels when they were his age.

Ummm.. probably not. :D

The biggest difference was these guys weren't famous so nobody was there to report on their misdeeds and post them on the Internet for everybody to read years later so they can pretend like they never happened.

I was a perfect angel too. (Wink wink)
