Uniform schedule

Booooooooooooo.

Only FIVE games in those classic B&Y?

And TEN reg season games in the boring whites?

Booooo.

I’ll be glad when those white unis and white horns are gone for good next year. Only thing is—Rams will win the 2020 SB this February in those boring whites, so I’ll have one reason to remember them fondly.(y)

Los Angeles Rams Unveil Pick ‘Em Mobile App, Could be Predictive Gaming Precursor

The Los Angles Rams, one of two National Football League franchises in the second-largest US city, said Friday the team launched a free mobile game called “Rams Pick ‘Em” that tests fans’ knowledge of players and football situations over the course of a live game.

Rams Pick ‘Em will debut for the team’s preseason game today against the Oakland Raiders and will continue throughout the season. The Rams lost to the New England Patriots in last season’s Super Bowl.

Players compete to win exclusive prizes for each game, including two tickets and pregame field passes to an upcoming Rams home game, as well as autographed merchandise,” said the team in a statement.

Translation: Rams Pick ‘Em participants, no matter proficient they are at the game, will not be eligible for cash prizes. However, there is speculation that Rams Pick ‘Em could set the stage for the team to eventually offer some form of live predictive gaming with real money on the line.

Trending In That Direction

As Casino.org reported on Tuesday, the Washington Redskins, in conjunction with NBC Sports Washington Plus, became the first NFL franchise to roll out a predictive gaming product with real money involved.

“Predict the Game” debuted for the Redskins’ Aug. 8 preseason clash against the Cleveland Browns, allowing participants to win up to $1,000 per quarter by answering questions directly related to the game. The feature will be available to fans for the Redskins’ three remaining exhibition games, but is not expected to be around for the regular season.

Although cash prizes aren’t involved, Rams Pick ‘Em uses a methodology similar to Predict the Game by challenging fans with game-related questions and “micro outcomes.” Examples would be “What team throws a touchdown pass first?” or “Which of the following player notches a sack first?”

The NFL and its owners are not as opposed to sports wagering as they may have been five or 10 years ago. But the league has signaled it will approach the growing sports betting market with caution. That said, there are benefits for the league and its owners in embracing sports wagering.

Data confirm that bettors with action on games are more likely to watch those games on television than fans who are not financially invested in a particular outcome. Television viewing rights paid to the NFL by networks such as CBS, ESPN, and Fox are a major driver of revenue. Last year, the league generated between $16 billion and $17 billion in revenue, of which $8.78 billion was distributed to the 32 franchises, with the bulk of those sums coming from TV rights.

Owner’s Got Experience

The Rams being one of the first NFL teams to test a predictive gaming product, even though it doesn’t yet involve real money, isn’t surprising. Owner Stan Kroenke also controls Arsenal of the English Premier League (EPL), a league where fans have widely embraced in-game betting.

According to some reports, Kroenke and the Glazer family, owners of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the EPL’s Manchester United, have been helping fellow NFL owners understand the complexities of in-game and predictive betting.

Can i get Sunday Ticket Without Direct Tv ?

We are giving Sling TV a month trial and I also got CBS All Access. I am currently waiting for 2 indoor HD TV antennas to get my locals. I am going to give the reddit/r/nflstreams a try. We have Charter cable internet, so I hope that along with my XBOX ONE gives me good chances of watching the games. I am so tired of DirecTV and their strong arm tactics to keep people at exorbitant prices. I have had them since '97 ... and i never get "deals". My price just keeps going up. i have tried retention 3 times and every time they say "no". Had the local DTV technician here to fix something a week ago. And even he said that he doubts he has a job more than 4-5 yrs. Says everyone is leaving them for YouTube TV, Sling, Hulu, etc.

Agreed . If it wasn't for Sunday ticket I would be long gone . I've had Direc since 99 with very little discounts

Rams enter preseason opener as underdogs vs. Raiders

I knew they wouldn't win ... but damn .. some guys who could be winning some key back up spots ... gotta do better.

The thing is - if one backup is playing among starters, you can get a feel for how good he is and how he fits.
But when you have a bunch of backups playing together...well, the mistakes just get amplified. I would expect a bunch of backups playing together to struggle.

Rams vs. Raiders: Position battles to watch in preseason Week 1

Backup C still up for grabs. Aaron Neary has been taking snaps with the 2nd OL and he is suspended for the first 4 games, so who comes in at C if Allen goes down? Slide Blythe over and Demby or Kolone at RG? Demby has gotten snaps in TC at C. Will he get snaps at C vs the Raiders?

Will be interesting to see how Kromer figures out his back up OL. All of them will get snaps, who will stand out?

Rams OLB Justin Lawler undergoing foot surgery

Did you notice Christian coming into camp trimmed way down? He looked considerably thinner than seasons past. MC has shown many times he has concrete bricks for hands. The flip side he is an excellent tackler & bring the hit. I am really surprised to see that he has been getting huge amounts of work as one of our deep safeties. Most of his defensive snaps (and he had a ton) came when we he was the third safety playing the hybrid LB/SS position in Wade's defense.

Watching Preseason games is a major treat for me I enjoy them so much. That's the main reason I still maintain my Direct TV & the NFL Ticket account I know its costly but the Rams are worth it.

I can always watch it later or at the bar. The thing is the local games will be blacked out live & I think CBS has the rights. I can all games except the local games I believe. That is the way MLB works. The NFL is even stricter ??
I can get the preseason off nfl network at a later date.

If you have the package I don’t know what games you get. I’ll take it as it goes ,& try to watch the best I can. Usually when the season starts, my posting goes down. It’s all about the off season. The NFL is tough. This Arizona QB is going to be good. He walked away from his MLB contract & he has a heck of an arm. Speed & poised.
Go Rams !!

@fanotodd

Ref. Our foursome WR's ......best in the NFL. I see no reason to carry more than 5 wide outs on the 53 player roster. Those four will want the ball as much as possible & that good for this offense. Use this good fortune to save a roster spot on that 6th WR to use on the OL instead, keeping 9 OL'ers instead of only 8. However, it would be a good ideal to sign two of our better younger WR prospects to the practice squad i.e. Bachman & Webster for future development.

Ref. The loss of WS ILB veteran Mark Barron....having Littleton moves over into his weak side Interior LB'ing post in Wade's standard 334 base defense is a huge improvement. As Wade moves into his many passing defenses CL will still remain on the field of play. It will be our MLB'er Kiser who departs for the sideline.

Ref. Rams starting OT's ...I would not exclude our current new starting LG from that list. Noteboom is a LT much more than LG. Keeping Noteboom @ LG fills the present, but near future I prognosticate as this season wears on Noteboom will see more & more snaps @ LT. Why ? I am sure a plan has been developed to keep the "older than dirt" Andrew Whitworth fresh as possible for this teams playoff run. I believe the Rams have the best trio of OT's in the NFL!

Ref. The loss of Saffold your comments rings true but even this early its evident that Jamil Demby is Kromer's first pick to be the true replacement for Saffold for the future. With the 2019 version of the "Preserve Andrew Whitworth Plan" Demby IMO is sure to see a major amount of work @ LG in practice with the first unit increasing week by week after the bye. Of course if David Edwards turns out to be a legit true LT prospect then what I have stated above might just dissolve quickly......none of which is a bad thing.

Ref. Joyner loss.....was a very big win for the Rams. LJ proved to be a serious weak link in our DB in 2018 when LJ was forced to take up the position of deep safety. He proved to lack the mental ability to be effective playing deep. LJ's game is up close to the LOS & as the Nickel corner where he can excel with his skills. Snead landing Eric Weddle is HUGE!

5 Rams players who need to shine vs. Raiders in preseason opener

You know your team is stacked when there is a debate for the 6th wr spot.
Don’t know why Natson is listed as a guarantee. Seems they could fill that role elsewhere and Hodge and Thomas make the team
This. When we drafted Scott I figured he would be JoJo's replacement. I would much rather keep Hodge and Thomas over Natson.

2019 Draft Progress Report

With regard to Scott and Allen: Someone on this board said it before that McSnead is churning the bottom of the roster improving it from bottom up when they can. Even without those early round draft picks the last couple years, the overall talent level on the roster is improved. This shows especially on Special Teams where the Rams are outstanding in nearly all facets. My only wish is to find a better punt returner that can also add to positional depth somewhere.

Rams 2019 - Improve or Decline - ESPN

I think stats covering different teams, and even our club has a different team every year, to find a trend of some sort, is false. Just because Wade Phillips defenses did something in Dallas, doesn't mean his defense in LA in their third year, will bend into some range the author expects. As for our offense, so what if the Rams won close games last year? Good teams win close games, and lesser teams find ways to lose. We know this from the Fisher years.

The bottom line is the media needs new story lines, and aside from the Patriots (because they have no choice), predicting that winning team is going to keep winning year after year, is boring to them. They like tearing down the team(s) they built up in the previous year. Kyle Brandt crystalized this for me last year, because he said on GMFB "I'm tired of saying the Rams are great and unstoppable," then he started predicting that they would lose against almost any future playoff team. We would lose against the Cowboys, Seahawks, Bears, Eagles, and of course the Saints. "Who can lose to the Saints in the Super Dome?" he said. It's more fun to pimp a new hot team than to say the same old things, so screw these guys and Kay Adams.

All of this, pretty much
