What Does NFL Reddit Partnership Mean to Streams?

Awwww yeah, not that streaming for free is hard but dang I just want to be a reliable consistent worry free stream.

If it goes against DTV does it apply to the whole nation or just CA? You’re my legal expert now hahaha
LOL ... no, not a legal expert by any means. the lawsuit is over Anti-Trust laws... which cover the United States. But experts weighing in on the article I read, said they expect it to favor the Plaintiffs which would mean individual team ppv plans would soon be following. Whether DTV retains all rights to THAT outcome, was not spoken about. Just said that individual teams would then have the right to do their own thing. So in a nutshell, the Network TV rights that are afforded to CBS, FOX, ESPN, NBC, NFLNetwork .. do not cover DTV so Plaintiffs are saying they should not have to pay for "every game", just the ones they wish to watch. That is how I read it.

2019 team captains

Just read this morning that Safety Eric Weddle will call the defense. That would remove Wade's issue of having to keep an ILB'er on the field in all our defensive series.

Last seasons MLB plus defense signal caller was Cory Littleton. CL remained in the field of play for most all defensive plays in 2018. CL is now playing a different post.

I would suppose that we might see more of what we got a glimpse of in preseason where Wade will pull both starting Inside LB'ers & insert an extra 3rd safety & 3rd pass rushing ER to go with his Nickle corner. 2 DL'ers, 3 ER'ers, 3 safeties & 3 corners. I would suspect that 3rd roving ER'er will primarily be Clay Matthews. One of the main reason that he was signed by the Rams. I could see rookie LB'er Natrez Patrick being Matthews underling playing this behind Matthews.

"Weddle, now the Rams’ free safety and defensive signal-caller, does the same with Goff. They’ll go back to the quarterback room after practices and process what happened, what they saw, and what Goff can expect to see in the future. "

Announcement RE: Primetime

This place is akin to your favorite bar where everyone knows your name. A necessary place to pony up to a barstool and just shoot the shit about our common high and lows. I've always thought of the mods here more like our bartenders than bouncers. Prime, thx for serving me up all those doubles and pints over the years. Forever horns my friend.

Go Rams.

Wade Phillips expects offenses to double-team Aaron Donald even more in 2019

Even more? Am I missing something?
They double team him every down in every game.
What offense ever plans to single man him?
Well get he did get 20.5 sacks last year. At least 1 was probably on single blocks. Then there's the times where he beat the guard outside so fast the center never had time to even try to help. Technically kind of like single blocking.

He might be singled in designed rollouts or something. Or damn it, what do you call those really fast ones to a tight end or a running back as the whole line moves with them? Crap. Maybe singled in play action?

It was only 70% or plays he was doubled or tripled on. So not very many times.

[Updated] Julio Jones and Falcons agree to 3yr extension

Got to pay to keep the best ones...... $66 million guaranteed - $64 million of which is due at signing. The increases are never-ending.

Since Jones entered the league in 2011, he has 698 catches for 10,731 yards (15.4 yards per catch) and 51 touchdowns in his first eight seasons. Jones, a six-time Pro Bowler and two-time first team All-Pro, led the NFL in receiving yards twice (2015, 2018) and the league in catches (2015). Jones had 113 catches for 1,677 yards and eight touchdowns last season, averaging 14.8 yards per catch.

Great numbers but, TDs are low.

Kellerman "shuts down" Goff vs Wentz debate

Here we go again, not sure if Goff is a better leader or has a better arm, however, durability is a major asset and working on getting better each year has to be factored in...Until Goff wins a Super Bowl, there will be an east coast bias for Wentz, but that won't last much longer.

Here's the irony, I used to be worried about the comparrisons, however, I no longer worry, Rams got the pick right even if Wentz can play 16 games, but many Eagle fans were actually rooting for the Evil Empire because they did not want Goff to win a Super Bowl...So screw them!
Goff is a better leader based on past problems Wentz has had, and by Wentz own admission, on his deficiency in that area. Goff’s arm tested better at the combine, and looks better live to me. Here we go again....

Rams at Panthers: 5 things to know about Week 1 matchup

Rams at Panthers: 7 biggest storylines for Week 1

After months of roster-building, practices and talk about a “Super Bowl hangover,” the Los Angeles Rams are finally set to kick off the 2019 season on Sunday. They’ll face a formidable foe in the Carolina Panthers, going on the road to face Cam Newton and a revamped defense.

There’s been no shortage of storylines surrounding the Rams heading into the 2019 season, from Gurley’s health to them taking the preseason off. On Sunday, we’ll finally get to see the team in action as some of the questions surrounding Los Angeles will be answered.
Here are the seven biggest storylines for the Rams in Week 1.

Todd Gurley’s usage and health

This has been the biggest storyline of the entire offseason for the Rams. Will Gurley be his normal self? How must lighter will his workload be? Will Los Angeles limit his playing time early in the year to keep him fresh for the late-season push? These are all questions that could be answered on Sunday in the season opener.
Sean McVay said Gurley won’t be on any sort of snap count and has declared for months that the two-time All-Pro is feeling good and will be a focal point of the offense. We’ll see how true that is against the Panthers.

Will rest lead to rust?

For the second year in a row, the Rams rested their primary starters in the preseason. It worked to perfection last season as they won their first eight games and finished 13-3, but the offense did sputter out of the gates. In the first half against the Raiders last season, the Rams looked a little rusty.
Will Jared Goff be sharp to begin the game? Will the new starters on defense mesh right away? McVay made the right decision to keep his starters out of harm’s way, but it could come at the (very minor) cost of some rust in the first half against Carolina.

Rams’ personnel groupings

The Rams leaned heavily on 11 personnel last season, using three receivers and one running back more often than any other team in the NFL. They have the weapons and depth to use four-receiver sets, two running backs at a time and even two-tight end formations, but it remains to be seen if McVay will mix things up.
Keep an eye on how often the Rams stray away from their comfort zone of 11 personnel. Les Snead said they want to use two tight ends more often this season, but it’s difficult because that requires them to pull a receiver off the field.

How much will rookies play?

The Rams didn’t draft any surefire starters this year, but they did add quite a few first-year players who can contribute early. Taylor Rapp is poised for a role on defense, while Darrell Henderson should get some playing time as a backup to Gurley. David Long Jr. will be eased into action, given the Rams’ depth at cornerback, and Greg Gaines will be the second-string nose tackle behind Sebastian Joseph-Day.
Natrez Patrick, Nsimba Webster and Troy Reeder all made the team as undrafted rookies, but it’s possible they’ll all be inactive on Sunday. Still, it’ll be interesting to see how many of the rookies play and how much they’re utilized.

Tyler Higbee’s role after signing extension

The Rams signed Higbee to a four-year, $31 million extension this week, which would presumably mean he’s in for a bigger role. With Gerald Everett vying for playing time too, though, the Rams can only give Higbee so many snaps. Many believe Higbee will be more heavily involved in the offense after signing his extension, but that may not be the case.
Watch the split between him and Everett at tight end against the Panthers to see if he truly is still atop the depth chart.

Will offseason changes improve the run defense?
usatsi_13125808.jpg

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

The Rams’ run defense was abysmal last season as they ranked 32nd in yards per rush allowed. They made several changes on defense, swapping out Ndamukong Suh and Lamarcus Joyner for Joseph-Day and Eric Weddle. Mark Barron has been replaced by Bryce Hager, while Clay Matthews steps in as a starter for Samson Ebukam.
On paper, the run defense should improve. The Rams will face as tough as a test as they will all season on Sunday, with Christian McCaffrey and Cam Newton in the backfield.

Joseph Noteboom and Brian Allen face tough tests
usatsi_11976642.jpg

Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

Noteboom and Allen could make or break the Rams’ offensive line this year. They didn’t play a snap in the preseason and their first matchup of the year involves blocking Dontari Poe, Gerald McCoy and Kawann Short. Talk about starting the year with an incredibly difficult blocking assignment.
It’ll be a work in progress with these two first-year starters, so take what you see on Sunday with a grain of salt. This is one of the tougher battles they’ll have all season.

Goff Is Proof That A Good Coach Matters

I didn’t consider him a bust.

If you watched, you would see that the skill set and desire were evident.

I’ve minimized the analysts that I view or listen to.
The first half of the Saints game his rookie year was all I needed to see. He had the ability and it was very clear. Just needed a coaching staff to help him put it all together. Nothing wrong with that. Brady isn’t Brady without Belicheck and vise versa.

Chiefs extend Tyreek Hill

Hill is like all the others before him who are abusive. They never stop. It's only a matter of time before he runs off the road again. I only hope he doesn't kill someone. By extending him the Chiefs are complicit in any future problems with Hill because they are enabling him. They are showing him his TD's in the NFL will excuse anything he does off the field. What happens when a parent doesn't discipline their child when he misbehaves? It only gets worse because the child has learned there are no consequences to his actions. These guys should be suspended without pay and all their guaranteed money should be forfeited for their entire contract. It should be they get paid to play and stay out of trouble or they don't get paid. The team could send trouble makers like AB and Hill to ROPA to learn how to flip burgers and make fries.

Rams’ defense braces for playmaking Panthers backfield

Rapp is not a man to man defender. He is your classic zone safety, best used when he can play off and read the play. As good as Rapp is he doesn't have the speed or agility to match up with McCaffrey. In fact they don't have a CB with that kind of speed and rare agility on the team.

The key to beating Carolina is forcing Cam to play in the pocket. Even now he will struggle with accuracy in the pocket under pressure. He still struggles to read defenses especially if his obvious early reads are taken away. Get quick pressure something both Fowler and AD can do. Cam will then get frustrated and begin to force throws. When you see that you have beaten him.

The most telling stat on Brockers is his 40 time. It's why he's struggled playing outside, he simply doesn't have the speed to do it. Brockers is a situational 3T and that's all. He's not a good run defender and teams will run right at him. He's not finished perhaps but he's not worth what they are paying him either.

The handwriting was on the wall when he was often standing on the sidelines on passing downs last year

i don't think he's saying to play him man to man like a cb, just shadow him and if the ball goes his way go in for the kill.

Grading every position on the Rams roster entering 2019 season

By: Cameron DaSilva | 9 hours ago

As a Super Bowl contender once again, the Los Angeles Rams enter the 2019 season with sky-high expectations. They have one of the best rosters in the NFL from quarterback to punter, boasting Pro Bowlers at several positions.
As is the case with every team, though, there are certain strengths and weaknesses. For example, the Rams have excellent depth and talent at wide receiver, but on the interior offensive line, there’s some concern.
