Rams prepare for Bengals, third London game in four seasons

Bengals, starting CB Dre Kirkpatrick (knee) and reserve Darqueze Dennard (hamstring) have both been ruled out. WR A.J. Green (ankle) has also been ruled out and will miss his eighth consecutive game.Cincinnati will also be without starting LT Cordy Glenn (concussion), who was ruled out after seeing his participation decrease from full to limited to no participation at all during the week. Glenn's backup according to the Bengals' depth chart, OT Andre Smith, is considered questionable with an ankle injury. Reserve DE Carl Lawson (hamstring) has also been ruled out.

TNF: Redskins at Vikings

I didn't see the whole game, but my team left some points on the field for sure. At least Cousins didn't blow it.

BTW, one of the Guys on GMFB said something interesting about Cousins in prime time games. And that is his defense in those games gave up 31 ppg. Now, one of my forum friends did the math and it turns out that it's actually 26.75 ppg. But still, thats a lot of points to overcome. For most teams, that's at most a 6-10 season.

This is one good dude

Once, I'd like to see Hekker get a chance to really let one loose and throw a 30-40 yarder for a TD.

I'd lose my mind jumping up and down, I know that. I'd probably injure myself if he did it against the Saints, Seahawks, 9ers or Pats...

He did that last year. He threw a perfect ball down the field to Reynolds but he showed no urgency to catch the ball. Should have been a 40 yard td.

Seems to be a recurring theme for Reynolds.

Interesting Power Rankings and Goff comparison

I think there is a lot of truth to this, and something I've been saying about McVay's complete stranglehold on the offense, and how that affects Goff's growth at the line of scrimmage. I commented on one play it in ATL game because it stood out to me - ATL was in a nickel package with only 6 defenders near the line of scrimmage, it was one of the lightest boxes we'd seen and we came out in 12 personnel (2-TEs). I'd say even with our o-line that was a free 5-yards and likely more. McVay called a play action-pass, Goff walked up to the line, kept the play on and snapped the ball. The pass was well defended and went incomplete, on to 2nd and 10. And I thought, why the hell wouldn't he audible to a run? It was clear as day they were playing the pass, and especially with Higbee and Everett on the field we had an easy gain on first down if we ran. Why TRY to throw into a tougher look?? Yea of course he completes a ton of passes into those looks, but it illustrates a point where I think he trusts McVay so much, that his route-combos, his schematic concepts will just beat the defense on its own. Instead of him using his eyes and making the correct football play.

I think McVay needs to add more freedom or audible options for Goff, which will help him take the next step. Because I remember how Peyton used to win pre-snap and it was a thing of beauty. But does McVay's offense ALLOW for that type of freedom at the line? All I've heard about the Shanahan system and thus McVays system, is all the audibles are worked in to the play. So they make the call and you just go execute. To me that doesn't develop an independent thinking QB, more of a programmed robot but idk. If that is the case then Goff can't miss reads or throws when they're schemed open.
I promise that’s all I’m saying. People think I’m ragging on Goff when in actuality I feel like he’s being limited by McVay by forcing him to be a game manager and not letting him grow

Rams, Bengals likely to see strong crowd Sunday as London's interest in American football grows

Yeah, if he really wanted to boost the value of his franchise, he'd consider a move to London. They'd be in a unique marketing position to be the "European" team and be first for tons of coveted advertising dollars from Euro heavyweights. They'd basically have the entire Euro ad market to themselves.

Seems dumb financially NOT to go for a number of teams. It's probably between Jacksonville and the Chargers, but who knows?

Maybe London becomes the new LA in twisting cities nipples for stadium dollars.

Kroenke didn't do the NFL any favors by privately funding the entire operation... next stadium plan is gonna get the "why can't you just do what Kroenke did in Inglewood?"

E. Sanders traded to the Whiners

So it's that bad, is it?
The 49ers offense is really weak. Their run game is decent but not special. If their defense was average they'd be in trouble. I'm genuinely disappointed with how our defense performed against them. If/when they come up against a good offense that can protect a good QB they could well be horribly blown out. They have an attack-dog defense and eventually it'll fail.

How Rams WRs are making up for Rams' lack of deep passes

well I wouldn't say its so much bad decision making but he's flat out missed wide open WR's for TD's. Missed Cooks last game, missed Everette 2 or 3 times deep, missed cooks and Everette in the SF deep for TD's and I think he missed Cooks in Seattle as well. If he at least hits one or two of those in the games we lost we might be 5 - 2 at this point. But it is what it is. His timing is obviously off because of the inconsistencies at Oline but if they start to Gel like they did last game he'll get better.

2020 Rams Mock 1.0

3b) Thomas is a free agent following this season and Reynolds will be entering his contract year in 2020. Reynolds may become useful trade bait. KJ Hill also has some return experience.

5) Weddle becomes a free agent following the 2020 season, this Safety pick is meant to prepare for the future (2021). The Rams have a play-off caliber team, it's going to be very tough for rookies drafted this low to make the 53 roster next season. I had to fight off the urge here for a developmental CB, it could have gone either way really.

6) A third QB in the pipeline is very necessary in case of an injury. Preferably, a quality veteran would be available, but our CAP may not allow for it.

7) If your only complaints are over these 3 late round draft picks, I feel i've done my job. Kiser didn't look good prior to his injury, I feel we can improve on him. jmo.

I'm not as worried as you about our 2020 OL. Noteboom was groomed for the position and did well when replacing Whitworth on those few occasions he substituted for him in 2018. If Noteboom's rehab requires him to miss a couple of regular season games, i'm confident Edwards can take up the slack temporarily. The Rams have plenty of OG/C depth currently on the team, we just don't know yet who is going to rise to the top. I like Corbett and Brewer for L & RG, but we'll have to see how it plays out. Once Noteboom returns, Edwards may slip back into LG. Allen basically just requires more experience, but i've drafted Pollard to compete at both C and OG. Shelton & Kolone will also be competing for starting and back-up roles at C/OG. My bigger worry going forward is Havenstein at RT, and why his play has fallen off so much this year. Is it playing next to Blythe that is affecting him, is it because he got paid this year and has become complacent, is he nursing an undisclosed injury ? I don't know, but Evans needs to prove he can come in without losing a step.

I'm also less concerned over our Edge OLB's, even with Fowler presumably gone. Matthews, Obo, Polite, Durham, Patrick, Carraway & Ebukam look like very solid competition for starting and rotational roles. jmo.
