Did McVay ever explain?

The Rams still have a chance to make the playoffs. The Rams starters need all the practice they can get. In today's NFL this is where teams get physical practice.

I wonder what McVay is thinking. Remember when Woods got hurt against the Vikings late in a game that over. I guess it's a little bit of a double-edged sword. In this game, I would have kept them in.

will get all we want tonight!! Big game

Recouping some picks

The biggest issue is Brady's quack and business partner Guerrero (co-owner with Brady of a company called TB12, a rehab company - he really is a quack, he was sanctioned by the FTC for marketing a "supplement" that he claimed had amazing properties) - anyway, that Guerrero and TB12 had an office in the stadium, and for a long time after he became controversial many Patriots players felt that they needed to use the services of TB12 - again, with the seeming endorsement of the team, with the money going to Brady. Guerrero even was allowed on the team plane for years, and players could go to get "treatment" in the stadium. It's not clear how much money Brady made from the relationship, but it was undoubtedly substantial - and did not count against the cap.

Here is a link from a Boston paper about some of the shenanigans If any other team did this, there would have been hell to pay

it's shifty as fuck. a company part owned by a player on the team has the team as a client.

goddell will let them do whatever they want.

Here it is boys. Down to the last two weeks. The scenarios have narrowed. There is one road to the playoffs now. It involves four games.

Four games the Rams need to break their way. If one of the following games does not break the Rams way, the season officially ends.

But let’s analyze the likelihood of winning these four games, on a scale of 1-10:

  1. Saturday Night- Rams @ Forty Niners The Rams go into the game having to beat their division rival on the road, after embarrassing themselves last week in Dallas. San Francisco is coming off a loss of their own to the Falcons. The Niners have a number of injuries they are battling, especially on defense. Rams chance of winning- 5/10. Prediction Rams 27-23
  2. Monday Night Green Bay @ Minnesota Dalvin Cook has been a game-changing force for the Vikings this year. Dalvin Cook will not be available Monday. Rams need Green Bay to win. Chances of GB win 6/10. Prediction Green Bay 31-20.

  3. Week 17 Sunday Chicago @ Minnesota This game may be the toughest to visualize breaking the Rams way. The Bears have taken a step back this year and if week 16 goes as planned, they will be desperate to win at home against their long time division rival, and punch their ticket to the playoffs. But Kirk Cousins gonna cousins against a tough Chicago defense, bent on playing the spoiler to end the season. I see a pick -six and a big upset. Chances of Chicago winning 3/10. Prediction Chicago 24-21
  4. Sunday Cardinals @ Rams The Rams will go into their final game win and in! They are inspired and run off four first half touchdowns, resting most of their starters in the final 2 drives. Chances of winning 7/10. Prediction Rams 34-20.

Game Preview: Rams close out road schedule at 49ers

Injury Report 12/19: Troy Hill ruled out for Saturday's game vs. 49ers

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – Rams cornerback Troy Hill (thumb) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the 49ers. Defensive back Darious Williams is expected to start in his place.

"Surgery went well, he's feeling good, but we felt like the best thing for him and as we move forward was to keep him out this week," Rams head coach Sean McVay said of Hill.

Meanwhile, kicker Greg Zuerlein (right quad) is questionable to play. McVay said they would test his leg on Friday. If Zuerlein is unable to go, his replacement would be signed by then. McVay said the team is bringing in other kickers to work out just in case but wanted to keep those names in-house.

"Most of it really just requires his feedback to us," McVay said, when asked what he would need to see out of Zuerlein on Friday. "If there are some things where maybe his typical range, because he has great range, is limited a little bit, those are things we certainly we would be understanding of because he is our kicker, he's done it at a high level for a long time. It would really be if it just gets to the point where he's not able to go and it inhibits our ability to operate, kick off, things like that."

Tight end Gerald Everett (knee) is good to go after missing the Rams' last three games.

For the 49ers, starting safety Jaquiski Tartt (ribs), starting defensive end Dee Ford (quadricep, hamstring) and reserve defensive tackle Jullian Taylor (elbow) have all been ruled out for Saturday's game.

Offensive Depth Chart

Cooks is a possible Post June 1st cut. I'd rather have him on our roster and in camp in July to be honest. (Both stragegies would delay the $13M dead money cap impact until 2021). This could just be a down year. I'm not convinced Whitworth is still above average. I would be very dubious about extending him at anything more than about $5M and he'd likely be insulted by that offer. I suspect that another team would offer him more, partly because players on other teams' rosters always look like greener grass than your own players.

First Look: Rams travel to San Francisco to face 49ers

The 49ers are ranked 21 in rushing defense. It seems in our first game against them, we were without Gurley, but Sean Ran Malcolm Brown down the 9ers throats and we had a quick strike score on our first drive. Then we abandoned the run the rest of the day and had Goff throwing into the #2 ranked pass defense for a very bad result. Note to Sean, if the 9ers stack the box, they are trying to bait you into abandoning the run. It is the weakest element of their defense.
The Whiners played a pretty standard D to start. After the opening TD drive they stacked the box often.

Rams Pro Football Focus tidbits heading into Week 16

Pro Football Focus (PFF) has a team of more than 300 staffers evaluating every NFL play from the Hall of Fame game to the Super Bowl. After each game, players, as well as each team's offensive, defensive and special teams units, are graded on a scale of 0 to 100; the closer a player or unit is to 100, the better. A full explanation of their evaluation process can be found here for additional context.

Here's a look at some of the noteworthy Rams-centric assessments leading into Week 16.

WILLIAMS FILLS IN CAPABLY FOR HILL

If cornerback Troy Hill (thumb) can't play on Saturday against the 49ers, defensive back Darious Williams should be able to fill in without missing a beat.

Playing a season-high 61 snaps, Williams posted the highest overall defense grade (91.4) and coverage grade (91.8) of any Rams defensive player against the Cowboys. A grade of 90.0 or higher in any category is considered elite by the scouting service.

Williams has primarily been a special teams contributor this season, playing 180 snaps with that unit – fifth-most among Los Angeles players who have seen action in that phase this season. His 61 snaps were more than his previous three appearances this season combined (46) according to PFF's data.

CONSISTENCY FOR HIGBEE

Tight end Tyler Higbee was once again the most reliable receiver for the Rams offense.

The former Western Kentucky standout's receiving grade of 79.9 against the Cowboys marked the third consecutive week he finished with the highest mark of any Rams offensive player.

Higbee had zero drops last week, but was perhaps most impressive is that it was another complete performance overall. In addition to recording his highest run-blocking grade of the season (69.6), he also had overall, receiving and pass-blocking grades of 70.7 or better for the fourth time this season.

HOWARD MAKES MOST OF LIMITED OPPORTUNITIES

Linebacker Travin Howard was only on the field for eight of the Rams' 70 defensive snaps but still managed to capitalize on those chances.

Per PFF, Howard registered a 90.1 overall defense grade and an 88.2 coverage grade, both season-highs. Both marks were second to Williams for highest among all Rams defensive players who saw snaps against the Cowboys.

Major changes needed...

Nothing like a bunch of drunk homer Ram fans !! We aren’t all in that group ?

Troy Hill might start this next game against the Niners. As a football fan those rival games are always big when the season has not gone as well as you hope.
Go Rams - beat the Niners
It is so nice when a sober fan of the league comes to help correct those of us rubes, who are loyal to one team. Did I say anything else except that I want the Niners to lose? I am watching until the Rams are out. I could give a flying shyte about what happens afterward until the 2020 season, I guess you could wear a different jersey for the playoffs?

Troy Hill

Troy Hill has done a nice job of limiting big plays against him and IMO, has improved week over week since becoming the starter. Ramsey defense with attitude, however, on the 4th down play, Ramsey acted like he did something on the coverage, but the receiver simply dropped the football.

Overall I con@Ramstien the defense has been playing better since the Ramsey acquisition, albeit, I still believe the unit needs work against the run, but it will get an excellent
Pretty sure you're absolutely wrong on this. Wade has been putting him in man and hes been doing a helluva job doing so. Hes rated as one of the better DBs in the league at man as well.

Wish he would not have got hurt early against Dallas. The PI cost & the the play Tavon Austin scored on Williams & Rapp got mixed up !!
Remember all the hype on David Long against Arizona, haven’t seen him sense ??

Against Arizona Hill played well enough to be able to chill on the sidelines.

Mcvay must think a lot about Hill if the is going to start with a cast on his hand ??
