Akers’ breakout game on ground bodes well for Rams’ future

Back then nobody was going to sit Earl Campbell, who was supposed to be a Los Angeles Ram. True Story, Rams had a deal in place for Campbell, Houston came in at the last minute and upped their ante. Carroll Rosenbloom was very upset at Klosterman for that one.

Before Bum Philips died, he saw the toll that his overuse of Earl took and he told the interviewer that in retrospect, he shoulda found other ways because he hadn't ever wanted Earl to pay the price he did.

It's a hindsight thing, but yeah.

Sky Sports.

Just started watching 1 of their many sites.

They have something called Sky Action, my Ram Bros in Eutope call it something different. Just know they say It's in the Pups lol.

They show the NFL games 24/7 ,replays etc etc, better than our own NFL Network for games.

Jmho

Gerald Everett Mic'd Up vs. Patriots

I like it!

Take a close look at the QB sneak at the 1:30 mark. Watch pats number 41 i think it is, its the smaller white guy on the right of the screen. I can't pretend to know blocking assignments, but it looks like havenstein sucks ass. He basically just jammed that guy before continuing into the endzone to look for someone deeper to block. Wtf? Why would you need to let a guy go free on the goal line in that situation? That guy ended putting a hit on goffs back.

The Fake Interception

Man, you're not following me either. My pause for one hour was just an analogy that replay cannot be used to make the correct call 100% of the time.

You're trying to say (if I understand you correctly) that if you freeze frame the replay, woods is down, butt on the ground and all. And, you added "Super duper slow mo reflects reality"..

I'm saying there is more to a catch then that one instant you can freeze frame Wood's butt on the ground. So, that freeze frame doesn't make Woods down instantly, as he hasn't yet completed the act of a legal catch.

My comment about the one hour was not to counter one of your observations or opinions. It was kind of the opposite. You're stopping the frame at a moment, and I joked that you could conversely watch it for an hour. Joke!
Listen pal. Nobody jokes on the internet. It is a bastion of serious intellectual discussion of the highest order. What do you want me to say?

I'm really sorry about the mix up and this board deserves better on my part.

There are other situations where slow mo makes things more clear. It's just video of what actually happened. The video doesn't introduce anything new to the play.

My point about the butt thing was that if the defender didn't rip the ball out I think they would have called him down at the moment his butt touched the grass. However, when the defender rips the ball out, suddenly that doesn't count anymore. And again, I'm not even saying the wrong call was made. That was a fast play and probably they did the right thing. But saying that slow mo doesn't reflect the rules is the wrong way to think about it. The rules are the rules and the video evidence (at any speed) is reality. We need to judge the play by the reality that happened and how it fits the rules.

EDIT: to make my apology more clear.

GDT: The Early Games

I'm biased but I think our defense>dolphins defense. And I think if we meet KC in the SB (assuming both teams make it that far) we can beat them. And I'm a KC fan as well so there's that.

Also I think we can beat GB NO and Minnesota. NFC East teams don't have enough offense to keep up with us I don't think. TB and whoever else from the NFC west could be the team who gives us trouble. But that's JMO of course.

“Go Ahead and Overlook Them” - Rich Eisen on the Rams’ Dominant Win vs Pats

I'd have to seriously question the judgement of anybody who didn't think it likely would again. But glad I got it wrong!
I disagree with your statement. The fact that your judgement was wrong means your were ignoring other factors that were just as reasonable, and to say, yeah but I was right to think that and everyone else should be suspect for not thinking that, is insulting.
Look, we saw a big turn around with Goff and the Oline when Mcvay got here. FO did add Whit and Sully, but it was a big turnaround and we all had had doubts. I chocked it up to great coaching. In 2019 the Oline was very young but many people gave up on them. Didn't account for any player improvement or adjustment by the Coaching staff, even though we all saw it as 2019 progressed. The FO and coaching staff on the other hand thought different. I wasn't sure but was optimistic that the FO and coaches new what they were doing based off of their history to this point. So I think you should reassess. But I was glad you were wrong as well.

Is McVay more involved in D in 2020

I’m not as worried about losing Staley as others seem to be. Don’t get me wrong I think he is an excellent coach and I would love for him to stay long term I just tend to think we are overvaluing his impact to the tune of undervaluing the impact of pairing Aaron Donald with Jalen Ramsey. How much of what we are seeing is due to Staley’s concepts and how much is due to combining Ramsay and Donald for their first full season together? Obviously it’s a combination of the two but if we were to lose Staley and his concepts are as important as some think I have all the faith mcvay can not only find another Staley (he seems to have a knack for finding talented coaches) but keep the necessary concepts in place. Aaron Donald is special. Jalen Ramsay is special. Sean McVay is special. Staley? Yet to be determined but I’m confident the mixture of the first three will keep this D elite with or without this D coordinator.

What Patriot Fans Are Saying

Yeah, what are their options? Trade for Wentz or Winston lol? Andy Dalton?
Depending upon who the Lions bring in as HC and where they want to go, Stafford may get unloaded and would clearly be the best QB option out there. I think Wentz could succeed there too.

I figure Cam gets one more flyer as a starter somewhere else, then he'll be a career backup. The RG3 career path model.

What a difference in 24 hrs

They are too close to the end of the season with too much on the line for the Jets to be a trap game IMO. If they lose to the Jets, then they deserve it. They would have to give it away on a mammoth scale to lose the Jets game.

IMO there is no looking ahead on this team. McVay and the leadership on this team won't let it happen at this point. I can see it if it was early in the season just not at this point. The offense needs to ramp up their game heading into the postseason. Much of that is on McConnell and McVay. They finally unleashed the run game and stayed with it for the most part.

That will force teams out of their all-out blitz packages, especially on early downs. If they don't back off one missed tackle and these RBs can take it to the house. McVay must be cognizant of overusing his RBs at this point. He needs to go back to his rotation because there is a whole lot of football still to be played and they will need all 3 in the playoffs.

They need to start playing Jefferson instead of Reynolds. Jefferson is faster and far more elusive. He's got better hands and gets open where Reynolds still struggles. Reynolds isn't likely to be on this team next year so it's time to give Jefferson his reps.

Look out, L.A.: Rams' defense gaining momentum as playoffs approach

Last year watching the 22 these guys were lost in zone on a lot of snaps. Breakdowns in comms and coverage all over. In one offseason Staley installed a new scheme and got everyone playing fast and they are getting better and better.

That is great coaching. There were breakdowns early this season but he has coached them up to where they are executing and firing off almost every snap. He's for real.
