Your Wish List?

I’m expecting very little from this draft after reading the explanation on the article about this draft posted on RoD.

My hope is that Snead has some hidden gems that he can target late but by all accounts most guys that would be UDFAs will be drafted this year because the depth of players with draftable grades is so shallow. Chances are Snead’s usual late round gem will go in round 4 or 5

Austin Corbett could play a pivotal role in the Rams’ draft plans

If you think you know which direction Les Snead and the Los Angeles Rams will go with their first pick in the 2021 NFL draft next week, you can try to profit from it. With the draft less than a week away, you can now bet on which position the first player drafted by the Rams will play.

Will they go with an offensive lineman? Will Snead address the inside linebacker spot with a top-60 pick? Or will the team add a cornerback early to replace Troy Hill?

At DraftKings Sportsbook, there are odds for each position the Rams could draft with their first pick. And unsurprisingly, the odds suggest an offensive lineman will be the team’s first pick next week.
  • Offensive lineman: +200
  • Linebacker: +450
  • Cornerback: +500
  • Defensive lineman: +600
  • Wide receiver: +600
  • Tight end: +900
  • Safety: +1100
  • Running back: +1600
  • Quarterback: +3300
  • Kicker/punter/long snapper: +5000
Save your money and don’t bother betting on the Rams to take a quarterback or special teams player first. They’re also unlikely to use another early pick on a running back after drafting Cam Akers and Darrell Henderson in the last two years.

I would think Kicker Punter Long Snapper at 57 would be more like +1,000,000

And if someone won that - then this site would crash after that pick and Sportsbook wouldn't have to pay off.

Is Rams David Edwards an offensive tackle or guard?

I see Edwards as sort of a tweener at the NFL level. As a guard he is solid. But he’s a little miscast because of his length and lack of bend. He might be able to play RT at this level but his lack of reaction to speed might make it a rough spot for him. LT no way.

I would keep him at guard. He is serviceable there and actually very reliable.

We now know following the 2019 & 2020 seasons that Edwards is capable of playing both OG positions quite well, so i'm hoping for an active 2021 pre-season game schedule where we get to see much more of Edwards at RT, although this may only be wishful thinking on my part.
McVay doesn't like to play his veteran starting offensive linemen in pre-season games, in fact, during the 2019 pre-season games, he didn't play any starting OL, and even kept Brian Allen out, much to our dismay. I'd love to see Noteboom, Edwards, Evans and Brewer get the bulk of the work for those games, with Noteboom & Brewer primarily at LT, and Edwards, Evans & Noteboom competing at RT, with Brewer, Anchrum and probably another round of Demby at OG. Allen, Corbett & Shelton get the pivot and may also receive some OG work as well. Of course, any newly drafted OL players will also get their fair share of pre-season snaps. The 2019 pre-season games were mostly the Brewer, Edwards, Evans & Demby show, along with a couple of Centers who are no longer with the team or league. Brewer being the only real stand-out during that time, ... 2021 has our depth as much improved. jmo.

NFC West offseason rankings: Rams take charge

Ebukam shined as a SAM then Staley moved him to DE where he struggled to learn a new position. Guess what? The Niners signed him and the reports are they have him pencilled in as their starting SAM. So yes Ebukam is a starter and a full-time player if used correctly. I knew Samson wouldn't last long as a FA because anyone evaluating his play other than 2020 saw a young player growing into one of the best SAM LBs.

Fox had a breakout year and I have to believe the Rams were outbid for him. He had 6 sacks, 8 TFLs, and 9 QB hits on just 39% of the defensive snaps. So it's not surprising that the Panthers signed him to a two year prove-it type of contract. If the Rams weren't so cap strapped I think they would have tried to keep him as Brockers replacement. But with Lewis, and the opportunity to draft a better edge this year for less, I think they were prudent to allow him to move on.

Ebukam never shined at any position. He had one crazy game against the Chiefs in 2018 - the rest of his career as a Ram he was virtually non-existent

L.A. Rams No. 9 impact play: Cam Akers gashes Niners for 61 yards

Florida State product should emerge as engine of offense in 2021
ERIC D. WILLIAMSAPR 19, 2021

In this series, we countdown the top 10 impact plays for the Los Angeles Rams that helped shape the team’s 2020 season.
Situation: 1st and 10 on L.A.’s 32-yard line
Score: Rams trail 17-13
Time: Thirty-two seconds left in third quarter.

Williams’ take: Akers hits a seam on an inside run against San Francisco’s defense and explodes for a 61-yard play, setting up the Rams for a score on an Akers’ 1-yard run. Los Angeles ended up losing the game, but Akers’ run was his longest run of the season, and part of a three-game stretch in which he scored a touchdown. The Florida State product began to gain confidence and added some swagger to L.A.’s offense. Longtime offensive lineman Andrew Whitworth’s quote about Akers says a lot about what this team believes he can be in the future.
“He’s special,” Whitworth said. “He’s a special kid, with his heart and his passion, much less the talent. He’s one of those that, even as a rookie, his chatter, his talk and his belief in us and himself, and what we can do is really special.
“I look forward to him having tremendous growth here, because the way he’s wired, if he can stay healthy he’s going to be a different one for sure. … He’s going to be a guy that’s not only going to be a good football player, but I would imagine Cam Akers is going to be a leader on this football team very quickly.”

Season impact:
In the San Francisco game, Akers started to show that he could be an every-down runner in the NFL, with his dynamic playmaking ability, willingness to finish runs in the red zone and versatility as a pass-catcher out of the backfield. Rams head coach Sean McVay wants to make Akers the engine of his offense, similar to a role Todd Gurley filled for him early in his tenure with the Rams. We should see more from Akers in 2021, including plays like this direct snap that he scored a touchdown on in the playoffs against the Packers. The expectation is Akers will emerge as one of the top backs in the NFL in 2021.

Cam Akers: Future Phenom

I do think they make a very nice one two punch with change of pace styles. What concerns me about Henderson is he seems to get dinged up a lot. Nothing that causes him to miss a portion of the season. It just seems like he gets knocked out of games, misses a game here and there, not at 100 percent some times. I'd like to see him be more durable than he's been.
All true, and so did Akers last year. I think both backs are capable 1000+ rushers if they could remain on the field.
I think Hendo may have been able to play through some of those dings, but not being on the staff
it's really not for me to say.
Hopefully they will both remain healthy this year. Having extra game this year makes the #2
back that much more important as I think coaches will try keep their top backs as healthy as
one can expect, going into playoffs.

NFL unveils structure of 2021 offseason program

I dont believe ad has ever done any voluntary work. I could be wrong though.

I’d say your absolutely wrong. He just works out all year long..Mcvay will let him off when need be.

—I look back at The Rams front office sometimes and scratch my head.Dumb is dumb.I could get into it,but I’ll stay positive.Aaron Donald is an excellent example though of why OTA’s can work better from zoom.
I believe it will keep players more out of trouble. It will not be hard to see how dedicated a player is.
—Learning & lessons can be extremely productive this way as well.

QB Fields informs teams he's battling epilepsy

As someone with a TBI that has a seizure disorder, I have a personal insight into this.

If he’s not having headaches/migraines, then his prognosis is good although he’s just at greater risk of a Grand Mal seizure from a direct head shot.

If he’s self-medicating with OTC/CBD meds (non-THC of course) then it could be more of an issue, but he’s right to disclose it.

Hopefully he does grow out of it. Seems like a good kid.

Okay... the way the alerts work...

"You open the alert bell and non-action-required alerts will get marked as read automatically (reactions, for example) while more content-attached ones (watch, quote, mention) will stay unread until you visit the content (or manually mark them as read)."

There appears some browsers clearing the bell alert, while others leave it lit. Not sure if this has a solution yet.

Continuing to check.

Any Type 2 Diabetics here?

Ah sorry, but no, you don't go from 2 to 1. They have a different set of reasons why the body is doing what it is doing. Your numbers might have changed, but that can happen from a change in diet. Or different types of the same food. For example, white milk will shoot my kid's numbers into the 300's. but with chocolate milk, it barely moves.

Diabetic "Types" are driven by your numbers. They are driven by why you have the disease.

Yea I just chose to ignore that when it was posted. There is no such thing as moving from one to the other, as if 1 was better than 2 lol

OL Deonte Brown (Alabama)?

Brown has some serious questions about his weight iirc . My first inclination on when any prospect gets brought up is to ask if he fits McVay's profile. Is he intelligent, does he love football, is he a leader, is he a We player, etc,... I don't know the kid, obviously, but when I see a guy who cares more about eating than he does being in the best shape of his life to play football and potentially make millions, I'd say he likely doesn't check all of Sean's boxes.
