Who is One Stranger That You Still Remember

I'm sorry if I wrote about this in another thread. I was in an airport and I had a really long lay over. I was young and had only been out of the state a couple of times before this trip. I'm at the bar having a beer and a shot, and an absolutely huge guy sits next to me. He just looks at me. I mean he looks at me like I called him over there. He slipped a card in front of me saying that he is deaf and can not speak. I took one of those thin bar napkins and wrote my first name, and slid it over to him. He smiled, and then he wrote his name, and just like that we started a conversation on bar napkins. We shared short thoughts on everyday topics. He was Native American, so we talked about what his tribe was doing to get by and how things were on the reservation. He laughed at my problems telling me that I wouldn't think about it much after time had passed.

I don't know. It was one of the best conversations I ever had, and I never said a word. He and I talked about a range of subjects, and he and I took turns buying cheap beers and shots of Crown.

He thanked me for the conversation and left for his flight. I went to the bathroom and came back to the bar. The bartender had taken the stack of napkins I had set aside and threw them away.

I'll never forget that guy, and I don't remember his name.

Has Arizona done enough to close the gap in NFCW?

I believe the Cardinals are better, but their defense needs to improve too. Murray is dangerous and although at times he can look small, IMO, the only question on him is durability. My feeling on the Cardinals is they can only go so far with Kliff Timothy Kingsbury as he seems to lose the important games.

Kingsbury lost in college too, although some will debate you can only take Texas Tech so far, but Kliff likes himself, likes to be on camera and needs to realize he's a Head Football Coach, not a Quarterback anymore. Kingsbury is all about me and that's why I feel the Cardinals will always come up short...Put on some damn socks.

Do we undervalue player development?

I do think that due to the current & future position of the current Rams team....player development has been put on the front burner. The new just out of college skill & ability level of talent entering the Rams unit is much lower than the incoming on other teams due to the path that the Org has taken since 2016.

One decision that was made this past off-season was in the two Ol new coaches. I have no real evidence to support this but I fully believe that these moves were to maximize the player development in the OL where the Rams have been forced due to Org's decisions to work with ever-increasing late draft selections, UDFA's & WWC's from other teams' Practice Squads.

So many young Ram Ol'ers have come & gone with little success. So many of the 3rd & 4th round draft selections still have many questions going into their 4th seasons under Kromer. , but still, there have been some moderate hits with Edwards. One might argue the same about Blythe but it would be a stretch.

Carberry & his new assistant have their jobs due to their abilities to groom & mold good Ol'ers.

What Speed Can Give McVay's Rams

I don't know for sure but frequently when Goff tried a deep pass, Blythe's guy was in Goff's face.

I am sure McVay saw that too and maybe it was both Goff's and Blythe's fault since Goff's ability to maneuver on inside rushes sucked so bad. Goff was okay on the outside rushes, but he couldn't evade an inside rush at all.
Neither can Wilson, Brady, or Mahomes when AD busts up the gut. Interior pressure gets to every QB. That's my point.

TB not going Undefeated

Too many changes ain’t good. Need some stability. Looks to be a bit of an over reaction by KC.

Brown-Thuney-Humphrey-Long/LDT-Remmers/Niang

This could be the single greatest overhaul of a non-skill position unit in NFL history. Somehow Clyde Edwards-Helaire gets left out of the conversation when talking about the new OL in KC. (He averaged 7.1 yards a carry in the Super Bowl.)

So to say the least, I'm excite.
