Jon Gruden Entering Make-Or-Break Year With Raiders

I think some of you guys underestimate Chucky. He's not an elite head coach by any means. But he's one smart dude especially with offense. He has a good eye for coaches too.

I've liked him since that QB Camp he did with Goff. The guy straight predicted exactly what would happen to Jared. He's a pretty sharp dude.

That said I am really glad McVay's our coach. THAT is what an elite HC looks like MFers. :clinkingbeer:

Defensive Line Rankings In The NFC West. Where Do The Rams Rank?

I'd take SJD over Robinson any day personally, but I don't know the cap ramifications of releasing Robinson prior to next year
I would also prefer having SJD here in 2022 over Robinson. Robinson has the Ram contract SJD does not in 2022

PRE-6/1 RELEASE 2021 Dead Cap: $6.5 million
POST-6/1 RELEASE 2021 Dead Cap: $5million & 2022 Dead Cap: $1.5 million

Table Scraps ..

Still much to be determined from my view. Carberry does have a good overall Ol cadre but it is much more talented on the exterior than the interior @ this moment.

Yes, many of the Rams primarily OL'ers who are more OT in abilities can play the two interior OG posts but there seems to be evidence that there is a sizeable drop-off in performance. But yes the Rams are insulated in case of injuries to the OG's.

When you add in the 3 UFA's Corbett/Allen/Noteboom & the retirement of LT Whitworth now the real issue comes into better focus on just who they go about trying to be in the best possible position next season yet maintaining the solid overall OL integrity of this upcoming season. This is going to be a really delicate situation. Leaving room for some big mistakes.

Certainly having to sign a new high-end contract for a starting OG like Corbett for over $9 million a year is a serious lift when you throw in that Noteboom will be offered a new contract for that serious LT starting post. Corbett could be an easy sacrifice if Anchrum, Evans, Brewer, or even a Meredith could vastly step up @ OG......and all of that is yet to clear up it's just very murky @ best.

Not to forget about the center issues with both Brian Allen & Coleman Shelton involved in 2022 free agency too.

Schedule by quarters +1

I think we have so many unknowns it is to hard to predict. As a fan I will go with 13 and 4. But what if Stafford is exactly like his records in Detroit. What if our Oline didn't improve with Allen and the loss of Akers means we don't have enough at RB. What if our D suffers with the new OC or the loss of Johnson, Hill and Brockers is to much. I don't think 10 and 7 will get us to the SB.
Question marks don't always mean bad answers. We had a ton when McVay came in, but I'm just saying I need the season to start so I can get a real picture.

Ernest Jones gets taste of defensive signal-caller role in preseason

Troy Reeder will get a lot of playing time with E.Jones behind him.Just saying he is a season away for now.
That is mainly because Troy Reeder will continue to push him.
Micah Kiser will be interesting to watch along with Kenny Young.Mcvay talked about the depth. I don’t know what the weakness of a #1 defense was ? It certainly wasn’t Troy Reeder though. He came in and never gave up the mlb job.The defense only got better when he was in.

—Saw Jones getting hit hard by David Edwards trying to get into position.Still needs to shed those blocks & not be so square. Learned a big time lesson & felt it.Had to stay on the sidelines a couple extra plays.
I like the kid a lot though & a great attitude.Will only get better & is a sponge.Stays positive.

What's the holdup with Jamal Adams' contract extension? Adams signs new deal

I agree that it wasn't a penalty all though borderline excessive/dickish to lean into it but legal. I do not agree that they would have picked it up if it was Brady.
I was pretty sure you can't hit a head with your shoulder even if you are a running back but then again he did duck his head.

Brady gets a penalty if a stiff wind blows by him.

The Second Coming of Aaron Donald: Elliot Donald

I think bloodlines count for something. Primarily it gives the kid an example to follow and they can see the results of commitment to improve and how to improve. You only need to look at the Bosa brothers with Nick clearly being the better of the two. Eli Manning on the other hand is clearly overrated. He was "made" by the team around him. His production isn't where people seem to assume it is. Peyton on the other hand is the real deal. His stature is artificially made by his brother and father.

So bloodlines don't always matter. But there is no denying that if the kid has talent he already has a leg up on his future.

Preseason game 1: O-line review

I think we're doing just fine on the offensive line.

Especially if Allen has emerged.

Every position has a seasoned vet to back them up.

At tackle we have Noteboom.

At Center we have Corbett to slide over and Anchrum to take his place at Right Guard.

It looks like they're grooming Meredith at Center.

Alaric Jackson has potential as a tackle.

After living through the Fisher years it's easy to like this group and appreciate the depth and the development.
Hang Ten Bro - keep surfing..

Heard Mcvay’s post game this morning & some of the posters here are getting a little ahead of themselves imo.
Easy to see Bobby Evans not playing to the level he should be for sure, but to think he is going to get cut?

wtf ? Preseason football folks….
There is a reason for it,but it’s more than just apple & oranges.Kevin O’Connell talks about is as well.

I like Bobby Evans & especially as a backup. Great to see Anchrum playing solid at RT.The depth is okay ?

Yea- soul the development is nice to see.I wouldn’t be totally surprised to see The Rams claim a Offensive Lineman either ? Then that would really make things interesting. My thinking is after cuts & placing a player on the practice squad Les Snead & scouting staff have under there radar though.
Meredith,Max, & Hoecht practice squad guys. This is the development & players taking self interest into there careers from labor of love.

PREGAME PREGAME THREAD - Rams vs Chargers PREDICTIONS

On twitter Talking about SoFi and some Raiders fan in a boastful manner asked if we had seen the raiders stadium .
and posting a picture of it.

Already buzzing I had to respond. I mean is he serious?
I told him his stadium kinda looked like the video screen inside of SoFi.
I drove right by that stadium when I was in Vegas in June and it even looks like a toilet bowl from the ground.

My wife who doesn't hate the raiders like I do agreed with me too
