One player……

I think the obvious answer is George Kittle
The real secret to the 49ers run game? That mther effer
Not to mention that in addition to his addition, it would weaken the biggest threat in the division
He is the key to both their run and pass game.
A lot of the short passes and screen game etc. is an extension of the run game.
Teams have to focus so much on Kittle, particularly on 3rd down that it allows their WRs to get basic coverages.
Losing Kittle would kill their O.

Checking in on the Rams' 2021 draft class, end-of-season edition

This year's undrafted free agents have a lot of interest as well: Alaric Jackson (OL), Javian Hawkins (RB), Landen Akers (WR), Drake Jackson (C) and Adrian Ealy (OL) (and yes. I know that all but Jackson and Akers came as free agents, not directly as UDFA's).

Overall, just a good burst of talent for a year without a first rounder (or, as the Rams call it, a year).

And I don't mean to jump on the negative aspect, but yes, I also was really pulling for Creed instead of Tutu. But nobody is perfect. I guess I'll settle for the world championship. :)

USFL teams reveal their uniforms for the 2022 season

Rooting for Fisher's team? Man your a glutton for punishment. I'd never want to relive that hell. Will Jeff take the handcuffs off of his OC, or just hire some risk averse defensive coach to teach his QB not to throw more than 6 yards downfield?

I can't imagine that offense will be much fun to watch.
Imagine if Fisher's team comes out guns blazing, like a run and shoot offense, and blows up the league in scoring? That would be hysterical

2022 WR Room - Thoughts & Future

Skow is a good special teamer. But he has no business playing offense. He can not catch the football. Him being forced to play (not his fault, he was a 7th rounder) almost cost us a Superbowl twice. He dropped a wide open touchdown in the NFC championship. Then he dropped an interception in the superbowl. He had almost as many drops as he had catches. If you are the 4th or 5th wideout not only do you have to play on special teams.. but you have to atleast be able to catch the ball. Nobody expects the depth guy to make big plays.. but you have to be solid.
How can you say he screwed up by not catching the TD pass in the NFC championship, but then turn around and say you don't expect him to make big plays? That was a big play. If he were to catch everything thrown at him it would be more than solid. He's a young depth guy. He's going to drop balls.

Can the Rams win back-to-back Lombardi trophies? GMF

They will re-sign their crucial FAs. AD will play for two more years. Stafford will play for 4-5 more years with McVay coaching him.

This offense with Stafford, Kupp, Woods, OBJ, Jefferson, Akers, Michel, Henderson, and Higbee behind a good decent OL will be a nightmare for opposing defenses. Probably the best 4 man DL Floyd, AD, Gaines, Miller in the NFL with Jones, Howard and Hollins behind them, and in the secondary Jalen and Rochell outside CBs, Fuller and Rapp at safety. This was a top 10 defense in the playoffs. If Morris simply plays them that way all season, this team is a lock to return to the playoffs. If they stay healthy, the Rams will be the team no one wants to face.

GMF is a joke as they are wrong more than they are right. They don't even really know the teams they are talking about. Had they really watched the Bungles they would see that their secondary was just average and their OL was subpar. They were lucky to make the SB and IMO they won't get that far this year. It will probably be the Rams vs Buffalo in the next Super Bowl, i.e. the hoof n horns bowl.

Couple random post SB thoughts

Good stuff! I heard that the voting on the MVP took place before Donald's play that effectively ended the game. If that's the case, that's pretty ridiculous. A co-MVP result was definitely in order (guess Donald will just have to win it next year, and Stafford the year after that!).

On an unrelated note, though, your use of the words "random" and "thoughts" in your thread title is problematic. You'll be hearing from my intellectual property lawyers. :laugh2:
But... there's no "20" in it...

River's Post Senior Bowl Mock Draft ...

I get so nervous seeing these mocks letting Allen walk. But, I have to consider that, with Stafford under center, our starting C can be more athletic because Staff will call the protections (something Goff couldn't do very well). I guess I'd be ok with letting him go, but C is such an important position, we'd have to have a fool-proof replacement. No way I want to go through another Blythe type season. But, if we can move on from Allen & get bigger / stronger at the C position, sure.

Famous Actors/Actresses You Hate

I really like Waterboy 50 First Dates and Happy Gilmore

I know I know - not politically correct but Waterboy cracks me up

"...compliements of Captain Insano."

2022 Combine Invitees ...

The new hands off approach may explain the Atwell pick. I can see how it unfolded.

Sean - " Which player let there kid in here?"
Les - "That's our second round pick."
Sean - " Really?"
Les - " Hey we don't actually go meet players in person anymore, I didn't realize just how small 150 lbs was."

Medical Marijuana

If it were up to me I would make the prescription of medical marijuana mandatory in all Jails & prisons.

The end results would be excessive TV watching, sex & empty institutional canteens of all snack foods:woozy2:.

All violence & use of forces would drop dramatically.:thumbsup1::biggrin:

I say this with a little amount of knowledge on this unusual position from a retired over 30 yr career criminal justice law enforcement officer. Some things just make too much sense.

Think how bad the major hit would be on the criminal enterprises involved in the illegal introduction of contraband into these facilites be:thinking:.......:bullseye:

After being tested all year, Rams’ TE depth looks strong in 2022

I agree TE is a need. And yes the blocking responsibilities are the biggest issue and probably why they reversed course with Harris as a TE. They realized oh shit we need a little more physicality here, which tbh is McVay's blindspot wrt player evaluation. And that role hurt them all season long as a hit/miss issue so an add to that room who is a sound blocker at a minimum would be wise and would help this offense a ton.

Now that said schematically they can carry an extra OL on gameday vice that depth TE and do like they did with Boom having the big guy handle the blocking duties. But when you do that the team can disregard him on delayed releases and the pattern in general which makes it easy on the defense.

Ideal approach IMO is a midround TE who has great size/physicality but also good hands. Don't care if he's slow. Just come in and block in year one with the occasional delayed release in the redzone. They're gonna have to give up things like RAC that they usually look for (that was one of Everett's strengths coming out) and raw athleticism because the well rounded big dudes go off the board too fast. Find a guy with some of those flaws but prioritize blocking and contested catches. And btw not sure if there are any guys who fit that, as I have not been focused at all on college ball, didn't even watch the Senior Bowl practices which normally are a highlight for me lol.
Exactly how I view the positional need.

I don't care about this guy being a true threat in the passing game.. just someone who can block and catch the ball when thrown to him. A guy who may make teams think it's a run.. but who can slip through for a sit-down gain of 4 on a third and 3.

The Philadelphia Eagles off-season strategy

Man they got a lot to do. Older roster and some players not panning out (Jalen Reagor, Andre Dilliard, etc). Time for a youth movement. It really won't matter who they take b/c any position can be helpful. They need another WR to go outside Devonta Smith, plus corner, pass rushers, younger linemen.

Just roll with Jalen Hurts. I fail to see how a rookie QB this year would make them better. They're in a weak division so it can be had.

Making a champion - Break down of McVay's Super Bowl game plan

The media:

Build em up
Tear em down
Build em up
Tear em down

Rinse, repeat

Yes sir.

This is why I turn the channel or make a quick exit when I'm watching NFL media guru drama negative hype shows. Too many of them are obvious. They are rehearsed clickbait/armchair rants to keep the casual NFL fans tuned in. "marketing and advertising tactics "

Several of the NFL talk shows and media crews are shock jocks. They know that brand is the trend and attracts the most attention/viewers just like our local news channels do.

Your NC LA Rams Fan made it on the local LA news!

Nice!!! Man I am jelly if you friend. I should have just spent the $ and gone to that game!!
Make plans for Zona now!!

To me if was worth EVERY penny. I paid the cheapest price I could (still a lot) and stood on drink rail the whole game (in a lower better section), never even went to my seat once. Was around a bunch of the Rams World Tour guys; was an absolute blast.
