How Rams' Derion Kendrick caught corner of Allen Robinson's eye

Kendrick has always had talent. It's his head that got him into trouble, not his talent. But with Ramsey there coaching him, along with Troy Hill (another former knucklehead who matured)? I think Kendrick could very well shine, along with Durant and Rochell (and hell, I'll include Long in there; he played very well in the postseason, so well that I don't think we really knew him.)

I also anticipate Yeast and Lake making the roster at safety. Yeast is a lot like Burgess was: a safety who can move into the slot as a big nickel. Lake reminds me of Fuller coming out. Would not be shocked to see Rapp and/or Burgess dealt for picks.

Youth movement at CB behind veteran starters

Hoping BIG that things work out positively for the Rams with these new secondary coaches & the four newly drafted DB rookies during TC & preseason. With the experienced of Long & Hill, the 3 other younger corners (Robert Rochell, Decobie Durant & Derion Kendrick) can be slowly stewed for much bigger roles in 2023 to be teamed with Jalen Ramsey.

Jalen Ramey was a great deep safety for the Noles in college!
Could save some valuable cap space $ too next year (& 2024+) allowing Love/Hill to leave via FA and have the young (cheap) CBs man the secondary with Ramsey.

20 Random Back to Work Thoughts

Agreed. What worries me is that the "easier" part of our schedule comes before the (early IMO) BYE week. It is a straight murderers row after that. It will either sharpen this team or wear them the F out, haha.
Both our Super Bowl seasons under McVay had a midseason stretch where I wondered whether they were good enough. So I do expect this team to maybe hit a period like that. Though hopefully they don"t go a full month without a win like last season.

One other thing is that the opponents need to play the Rams too. Every team with a non-optimum QB situation on our sched is going into the matchup vs the Rams at a significant disadvantage. Which includes divisional opponents.

If ever there was a year for the Rams to sweep the division it is this one. So I expect a 4-2 or better division record.

I don't want Kareem Hunt

Besides, nobody makes trades when TCs are opening. The rosters are set and not until injury or cut downs do players start getting moved
:pointup:This.

Cleveland is worth watching as we approach cut down… They have RB’s.

But like most every team right now, they will sit on their roster until late camp… see how injuries go… then trade from strength to bolster a weakness.

The Rams will do this too.

Is our qb any good?

I wouldn't take Rodgers. He's been an MVP so many times with good teams. The Packers won 13 regular season games three straight years (the last 3) and Rodgers has as many super bowl rings as Stafford who played only one year with a competent franchise. I believe, but could be wrong, but I think Stafford actually has a better winning percentage in the playoffs although he's played fewer playoff games than Rodgers.

I think Allen and Burrow can win super bowls and we know Mahomes is awesome, but Stafford is a great fit for the Rams, IMO.

My argument for Rodgers would be what he could potentially accomplish with McVay's scheme and with more than one good receiver to throw to.

GMFB | The Los Angeles Rams should be considered Super Bowl favorites right now

Tom's gonna miss Arians on the gameplan side. And Gronk is a big loss. They drafted a TE that looks solid but he probably won't be worth much year one.

I feel like they're gonna get more pressure from the division too. Saints are my darkhorse due to that defense, and the Panthers have a lot of talent. Yeah the Falcons are gonna suck. But maybe ol' Tommy boy gets kicked around a bit this year in the division.
