CELEBRATE !! Rams beat Panthers Celebration Thread!

I seem to have said this many times. It is possible to support our QB and point out he made a shitty throw or bad decision. It is possible to not like all the pick 6's and still think he's a good QB. I'm not sure anybody has jumped ship on Matt Stafford but then that would get fewer twitter likes or retweets.

PREGAME Rams at 49’ers - Pregame Thread

Once again, the Rams have a chance to really put the whiners in a bad position and reclaim the top spot in the NFC West.

Can we do it?

I hate seeing Crappolo winning against us with his longest completion being 7 yards (not counting YAC) I hope Morris learns from how Atlanta played the whiners. Our defense actually played well enough to win in our last game against the whiners and only gave up 17 points but out Oline was like a train station turnstile in that last game,

I hope dweebo gets blown up again in this next game. We need this one badly.

P.S. I really hate the whiners.

McVay's Best Coaching Performance in quite a while

The OL will look a whole lot better with Allen at center to make the calls correctly. Take some of the load off of Stafford who can focus more on the secondary.

Jackson is a very good OT and the Rams hit gold when they signed him. Aboushi could be a serviceable RG until Shelton returns in a couple of weeks. Evans and Edwards at LG are the weak links. If Aboushi looks serviceable at RG that would allow them to move Shelton to LG. Jackson, Shelton, Allen, Aboushi, and Havenstein might be an OL good enough to get them through the season.

With the return of Jefferson, it will go a long way in allowing McVay to run his normal offense. If Robinson is hitting his stride it will force secondaries to game plan him. With Jefferson back to stretching the secondary and Kupp drawing double coverages, Robinson's production looks to increase.

I'm expecting to see a whole different offense than what we've seen thus far. The problem is at both OG positions. You know DCs will focus on those positions. Both Aboushi and Evans / Edwards are not particularly good at blocking on the second level. I think the OL will still be an issue until Shelton returns. The OL can cover up one wart but not two.

We know this team is capable of going on a run. I expect them to peak in Dec which is a good time to do it.

20 Random Truth Hits Everybody Thoughts

False narrative.

First, I would like to point out that Akers is getting touches but isn't producing. Jackson was getting limited touches but produced when he did get looks.

Secondly, Jackson was cool with McVay since Washington and says he doesn't have any issues with the staff or players, and we've seen him work out with Tutu this past offseason. He was arguing with coaches on the sideline like Robby Anderson or AB.

According to Jackson, McVay promised him more deep looks when he was recruited but failed to incorporate him into the gameplan. As a friend, McVay suggested that he could seek a trade if he wanted, and Jackson said he didn't want McVay to force him the ball, so they mutually agreed to part ways.

Jackson is a guy that thinks he's better than what he is at this point but I don't think he was disrupting the locker room.
Spin, truth… hard to distinguish.

Point is, friendly or acrimonious, a player who expresses dissatisfaction with his number of snaps or touches runs against the “we, not me” grain, and could find himself being exited.

Why Darrell Henderson is the Rams best RB and it’s not close

I just wish McVay would get next-level creative with the run game.. he's already doing some fun stuff.. Brandon Powell has been effective on runs.. get him the ball more.
This week could see a lot of jet sweeps.. let's see Skow and Robinson get one.

I think they should have some fun with a 2nd TE. I would absolutely LOVE to see them put Hoecht in that spot.. and in the backfield. He's kind of limited as a pass rusher.. but is a big athlete. Having him be a lead back on some runs.. or almost a 6th lineman in the backfield during tough times sounds like a fun gimmick.
Bumping myself here.

After seeing his kickoff return, I feel even more strongly about this. He could help at TE, imo.

PREGAME Panthers at Rams - Pregame Thread

Let’s see if the Rams have enough pride and fight in them to take care of a bad but dangerous team (with nothing to lose). If they show well and win - it will ignite McSnead to call in reinforcements to turn this ship around. If they lose or look beyond repair McSnead might use the rest of the season to see what they got for next season and concede to retooling heavily in the off-season.

Behind Closed Doors

What bothers me most about our OL is they all seem finesse. Not those mean motherfuckers that want to drive you 10 yards back, knock them on there asses and then drag there ballsack across the defenders face.

And yeah I'm sure I didn't use the right "there".

But in all honesty, they seem so soft and timid and they really bothers me.
It’s all in the approach and play calling. First series against Dallas 3rd and 1. Instead of running the ball and getting the line firing out and going forward we have them backing up in pass protection while Stafford drops back 10 yards, gets hit, fumble’s for a Dallas TD. That play set the tone for the game. McVay doesn’t trust his line to get 1 yard.

AD, Kupp & Higbee on injury report

.... Morris needs to understand that all points will be precious as the offense is going to be struggling to score points...

... The Rams will have no chance if Morris plays his soft zone...

... Morris will be playing exactly the way they hope he does....

...Long should be back so he can sit Kendrick who has to play 10 yards off the LOS....
...if he starts Kendrick it will be playing his friends....

....Lewis lacks the speed to get quick pressure on the QB...

... (Morris) could see that the offense was struggling but he continued to play his FG conceding soft zones and thereby limiting offensive possessions. That is the definition of a shit DC.

You thought Staley was a shit DC too.

The Rams didn't win a SB last year by being stupid about football strategy, but to hear you tell it, they should hire you to fix em up with your ability to fixate on something without being distracted by the bigger picture.

Morris' D is playing soft to slow down the opponents scoring and is keeping us in the game. With a banged up secondary, playing more aggressive coverages would result in quick scores and blow out losses.
If you think our pass protection is bad now, wait until we're down by 3 scores in the 1st half!!! A f****ng feeding frenzy on our old QB.

Morris runs the D the way McVay wants. He's protecting our weakass offense and keeping the Rams in games they probably don't belong in.

Opinions, beliefs and facts are all very different things...

Edwards to IR, Funk cut, Skura elevated

The problem is, the talent level of the linemen they can play. Most those guys just are flat out bad. You can't polish a turd and make it look good. McVay has to find a way to adapt with what he has. And hope the defense can keep the score in the teens. Against the 49ers that probably won't be good enough. Might not be against the Bucs either.

This game with the Panthers is the season. Lose this and they could end up 2-6 after 8 games. 3-5 ain't much better but at least we can think maybe there's a chance if 8 or 9 wins gets a playoff spot.
