Predict Rams Trade Market Outcome

I would like to see a young ascending player and not a player in the last year of his contract looking to get paid.
Depends on who/position/how much they pay.
Jerry Hughes for the right price? Done!
Overpaying for Burns? No (I'm not saying any price would be too high for Burns, I'm saying I wouldn't be as happy in this scenario as I would be in getting Hughes for a reasonable price)

It's a sliding scale, imo.

What about OT Isaiah Wynn?

Unless he's a true pro bowl caliber guy I'd be skeptical. How long would he need to develop some chemistry with the rest of the line? Is he even that much an upgrade?

The biggest problem is the injuries have forced them to play guys who have little to no experience. But another part of that is these guys have not had a chance to develop any chemistry together.

Unless an all pro lands in our laps I think its best to hope they can hang on until guys can return from IR. Allen should be good to go. Jackson has been serviceable at LT. Some think he's better than Noteboom.

We just need to be healthy enough for these guys to be able to get some time together. And McVay has to use that ultra brain and get creative with the plays to mitigate the deficiencies.

Noteboom To IR With Torn Achilles

This is fair and I have been tough on Evans, but as I was watching the game against Carolina I started to think, Wow, he (Evans) has not giving up many pressures or sacks. Now I am a doubting Thomas and I need to feel the wounds, but maybe, just maybe, the light has go on for Big Bobby Evans, but again, I need to see him against San Francisco to make a proper assessment on improvement.
Sadly we will see him going up against the 9ers again.

Yeah, I have been rough on him too, however, he has 157 offensive snaps & remained in full health without injury when so many others have fallen. It would seem at this time that #71 is somewhat of an IRONMAN...wow who knew.

OT Havenstein 378 snaps.
OT Noteboom 325 snaps.
OT Jackson 312 snaps.
OC Kolone 188 snaps.

I also watched #71 in that Carolina game & I thought he had his best game since his rookie season. That's positive. #71 is not a physical blocker & his blocks are not strong but he is making more than he has missed as of late.

I would surmise since Chandler Brewer did not go into the game @ RG when Jackson took over LT indicates that Brewer is not going to be in the future plans @ OG as a Ram.

Just a reminder that #62 Kolone played primarily LG in college so when OC Brian Allen returns to start @ center against the 9ers, Carberry will have some choices @ LG. He can remain with #71 or insert Kolone who has started for Carberry or go with Matt Skura. Carberry likes #71 IMO & he will start @ LG.

After Injury Woes, Do Rams Have NFL’s Worst Offensive Line?

Corbin presents '2022 LA Ram Trade Deadline Trade Targets'

I'll go with #4 on this list.

D'Ernest Johnson would be my #1 choice too.

Honestly I’d go Hunt/D’Earnest and pick up Oli Udoh in the bargain bin.

We need to do some restocking of young cheap talent and save our picks.

Those guys would cost a minimal pick.

Allen Robinson II

Yes. Seems I might’ve under appreciated Van. But at the same time, all plays have a certain time frame to develop, and out OL isn’t allowing very many of them.
Wholeheartedly agree with that. We need to do something with this line, and I’m more willing to trade Cam for a lineman and roll with Hendo/Brown/Williams than I am screwing with our receiver corps. McVays system can work without a stud RB, but does not work well without a deep threat. (Remember when we let Cooks walk?)

I also believe if the run game gets going, the Offensive Line gains confidence and it can translate to their pass blocking too. Just pancake your guy after the body blows they will tire and fatigue makes cowards of us all!
No doubt you have coached the game with that statement.

There's nothing a oline loves more than running the football. because running the ball allows them
to attack instead of just protect, and if they get to pull, and lay out an unsuspecting defender
coming across the LOS??
Hell that's like scoring a td in their world
It fires them up and that translates to better pass protection as well as make
defense unable to tee off.

Tutu Atwell {updated} only ball carrier in NFL to hit 21 mph twice

The thing you do is STOP treating the guy like a "one trick pony. Get him on the field. Put him in the slot, wide, in a stack...whatever.

Find out where he can help and go for it. With Jefferson coming back it only strains defenses if McVay works ways to get the ball out quick.

Burners like Powell and Tutu can contribute and mJe a defense account for them.

If you only use them on gimmick plays, defenses are gonna figure it out...but if you get them out on routes as receivers they add problems. Use Tutu or send him packing...that's what I think. Powell is the return guy so we know he sticks around.
Yeah and I think the usage is a tell to a large extent. If a guy comes in and they have him running shit like screens and the occasional schemed throw or in Tutu's case primarily clearouts deep it probably means he still hasn't mastered the playbook yet. Rams like to have that mental side at a high level and if you're not there then you'll get used for what you can do for the scheme and other weapons which is bit part type roles.

My frustration with Tutu is that he doesn't look fast unless he's running full speed on a nine. He doesn't look quick underneath with the ball in his hands. The guy who instantly separates on his college film hasn't really shown up for us. So basically he's a micro pass game weapon that they have to be careful with in terms of how they use him. They can't even use him on jet sweeps apparently, and probably out of fear of him getting killed idk. But I'm hoping his problem is the mental side and that we'll start seeing him worked in more and more with good results.

Also and btw it is irritating that he didn't do much with the window of Van being out. This should have been his time to show out. But now here we are six weeks later, Van should be back soon and Tutu is still buried on that depth chart somewhere between the monster sized depth options.

So the indicator on whether he's going to cut it with this team will be that usage. We need to start seeing him winning on intermediate routes and better using his speed and athleticism. He should be feasting on the digs and comebacks for example, given the respect teams have for his speed. It's not like he's a poor route runner like Tavon was. The guy can get in and out of breaks pretty damn smoothly and adjust to the ball in the air. But mentally he is clearly not on par with guys like Kupp and Van.
