FEATURE Davante Adams to LA

Funny thing in this senseless "game changer" discussion it seemingly has ignored the guy for whom the thread is about.
Davante Adams is surely still the game changer he's been. On a terrible Jets team he proved unstoppable when the team actually played like they gave a shit. Against Jax he had catches of 23, 24, 41 and 72 yards. That's not a game changer?
Had he played the whole year with the Jets at his per game basis, he would have been around 1,400 yards and 10-12 TD

AJ Arcuri - Tackle ........ say it ain't so...

Plenty of time to add to the OL. I'm not worried yet.......
Every year, potential NFL talent is released at cut down time. We have some really good scouts. I trust they'll find somebody to bolster our offensive tackle position. Probably one to develop and one with experience. I remember when we used to have so many holes in our team we looked like a Green Bay Packers cheese hat. Now we're only a little light at shut down corner and swing tackle. Excellent place to be.

All Time Greatest Arms- Who's Yours?

When I hear best arm, I think strength not necessarily "arm talent" which to me also includes throwing off platform, touch, accuracy, etc...

For best arm: I'd prob go with Elway but Vick should be on the list and low key Jay "could have been great but didn't really give a shit about football" Cutler should be in top 15. Hell, Jamarcus Russell on pure strength alone is prob top 20.

Caitlin Clark..

The problem is that Angel Reese is not good at basketball.

She’s not remotely close to the talent level of Caitlin Clark. Like, there are cut ups of Angel Reese laying more bricks than a bricklayer behind in rent.

Meanwhile, Caitlin Clark out here looking like she slept with Larry Bird’s “How to play basketball” book under her pillow every night.

Steve Smith on WR's in this draft class

They could be looking to replace Tutu. They may feel that they don’t want to pay him $10 million plus in 2026. His contract is one year.

So they could be looking for a speedy receiver or a deep threat. Which receivers in this draft specialize in that Brandin Cooks type of role? Burden maybe? Higgins? Noel?
They answered my question- Konya Mumpfield

Where we at?

I think we adequately & directly addressed the significant holes in this team, enough so that I think we're definitely considered a playoff contender -- i.e., if we don't make the playoffs, it will be a downer.
Defense - The D-line is frightening; I have christened them "the Choir of Chaos". Adding Stewart & Poona is significant, as they provide the anchor in the middle & the speed on the fringes at OLB. If we kept it the same as '24, we'd be good, but adding these 2 makes us a complete nightmare for offenses.
ILB was a huge hole. Paul & Speights & Landman are great additions to what was a very lackluster room. Paul especially gives us that sideline-to-sideline LB that we've been missing.
I also thought we'd add more at CB. There's still time, though, and Kinchens, Witherspoon & Durant were coming along nicely towards the end of the season, so maybe we actually are OK there.
Offense - we really, really needed to add playmakers, especially with the decline & departure of Kupp. Adams, Ferg, & Hunter round out our complement of playmakers at all 3 levels nicely. Getting Higgs back for a full season would be terrific, we saw the difference he makes when he's in the lineup. Adams gives us a true downfield threat, and Ferg.... he's a sneaky TE. He's VERY good at getting open, seamlessly switching from blocking to getting open. Not dominantly athletic, but will make nice plays for us. When he is on the field, he *has* to be accounted for.
So yes, all in all I think we in a great position to go deep this year. (Achilles heel: LOT, as has been mentioned)

Agreed. This was Shula’s scheme. I’m sure there was a learning curve. Things got better as the season went on.

5th Rd / Pick #148 - Ty Hamilton, DT, Ohio St

Am I to take it that you feel Hamilton is a superior player to Davis?
More accurate to say I think he is more physical and will jump him in the 0 and 1 techniques for the rotation. DL is not like some other positions. If you have power the shit translates for a run stuffing type role. His issue is he doesn't offer much pass rush, and this class was insanely deep.

Davis might make a big jump but for now that's my projection.
