@Username

Believe it or not... I love me some Blackfoot and Hatchet. I've seen both in concert. Good Southern Shit right there Son. (y)

I sang every lyric of Highway Song with that video even though it's been years since I last listened to that one. lol

Ever listen to any Motown?

Ever listen to it? I was raised on it. My two favorite singers are Smokey Robinson and Paul Rodgers, in that order. I've seen Smokey, the Spinners, and several other Motown artists live. Just about any soul music is fine with me. I'll be posting some on this thread from time to time. Unfortunately my voice doesn't have an ounce of soul in it, so playing in bands I gravitated towards rock. I also love disco but don't hold that against me. :)

Yeah great lyrics.......

The line "I hoped for something to find but I could see no maze to unwind".........

This is obviously not the original but it fucking rocks the house down.

I just put together a post then the iPad dumped it.

Tears of a Clown is among the greatest vocal performances ever recorded, he just punches that out with amazing range and power.

The Fire vid......a young Carl Palmer there......my favorite band is ELP.

Check him out here......wow......

Absolutely love Procol Harum and Robin Trower, who was their guitarist when they first recorded this tune.

I actually had PH highlighted to me by Annie Lennox.......she did an album of cover tunes and did Whiter Shade of Pale. I recognized it and searched it on the net and enjoyed the original too. Great song writing.......which is mostly a dead art in current music.

I saw the Eurythmics in concert during the 80's. They opened for Huey Lewis and the News. Yeah, the songs, with exception, sound like bad remakes of songs from the past. I think it's cause I'm getting older. My parents hated everything I liked. Now the circle is complete.

Thanks, that was a fun read and the connection to the Who was something wasn't it.

Absolutely! He also mentioned The Crazy World of Arthur Brown which was my choice for Song of the Day.

Hey Username. I'm gonna go ahead and guess that originated in Japan. It reminds me of the Shari Lewis song, "This is the song that doesn't end." Music to slowly go insane by.

Btw all you southern rockers, we'll get around to you soon enough.

I think Username need a punch in the nuts because I didn't figure that out for almost a minute. LOL.....

Ryan Adams-Lucky Now. This is personally one of my favorite songs to play and sing.

Gregg Allman - 'I'm No Angel' - 1987 - This guy has one of the most soulful voices in rock. It almost makes up for the fact that he was once married to Cher.
