I'm very interested in how the league addresses this and what is said and done about it.

If it is somehow ignored completely and not addressed by the league... that will be even more revealing than anything the league might actually say. .

Everyone else saw the timing on the reversal of the penalty. The announcers made the point too. Once the penalty was accepted , that should be the end of the story.

you're a fucking liar... ive never seen it before, and neither have you ( multiple times my ass)...

never has a penalty been declined, and the teams line up, and suddenly the coach says "wait i wasn't expecting that and now i want the penalty"...

what fucking football league are you watching....

enlighten me please ROD... or whomever has the proof...

Take a step back, please.

Can only change if the result was changed on a challege or review I believe.
That’s what I thought.
…but this was more like a, “oh, we didn’t think they were gonna try THAT. We changed our mind.”

Collingsworth had it right when he said basically, if you’re on the playground and you say it, you have to live with it.

A pivotal moment before the slaughter.

While we're discussing anomalies... How did they completely ignore the fact that the Rams RAN A FUCKING PLAY after the refs missed the KW. fumble??? Never seen that before either.
100%
How many times have you seen a questionable play and the team runs up to take the snap to try and get the play off?
To make matters worse, they also said that it was an official review as well, meaning it was getting reviewed even if Philly didnt throw the flag, and they still would have run the play.
I can think of multiple occasions when a team has tried to call time out and the ref didnt see it, and the play continue or the play clock ran out. They didnt get a mulligan, no reason why a red flag should

Absolutely didnt affect the outcome of the game, but sure affects the integrity of it!

Not how it went down. Eagles declined and then saw we were going for it and then accepted. Cant do that and shouldnt have been allowed.... same with the challenge flag, play was run, cant challenge it at that point....
Yes, they only have to have the the flag out of hand and in the air before ball is snapped and it is reviewable
B.S maybe but not outside of the rules from what I have read

i want to apologise for my earlier post... a little too much alcohol mixed with really being pissed off about how we were pushed around all night...

It's all good SLO.

(I didn't believe him either.)

Totally agree that's always been the point of rushing your team up to the line to get a damn play off so it can't be looked at. Why bother now if it's at the refs discretion or a whiny bitch coach.

I can't wait for Siri-anus to be fired by the Eagles when the Lions kill his overrated team, the smug prick.

Yep.

Way I see it the league needs to uphold its standards. And those standards are rules. So if they just shrug and carry on after a fundamental mistake like that they will get what they deserve, which is further degrading of the product. And at some point, they will see a slippage in fan base as a result, as fans find other shit to care about than a corrupt league that fills half your viewing time with commercial breaks and the other half with refs controlling the outcome of games.

Can't replay a challenge flag being dropped.
