I didn't quote someone else then claim I was speaking to you. It's not about a youtube app. It's about the fact that the most popular website outside of Facebook isn't even available for easy access. The marketplace isn't but maybe a quarter what the xbox has. And yes we are talking about gaming. And like he said earlier, the only games that will look better are console exclusive. No reason to be a condescending prick. And what experts? There is nothing to be left up to experts. The PS4 has superior internals. No one is disputing that. That sir is a matter of fact, not opinion. So now let's reevaluate. If the games as of now are exactly the same graphics wise(until a ps4 exclusive comes out) then what must we look at the determine value? I look at the other functions. The xbox doubling as a DVR, the massive amounts of voice commands, the enormous app market that is available already in these early stages. As of now, the xbox one is far superior functionally. That's all we are saying.
Do you deny it? You don't need to make it big and red. I'll stand behind it.
I am not a gamer by any means, and the last system I had was the original Playstation, but I have been around message boards and forums for about 12-15 years now, and it still amazes me how folks can have a normal discussion about religion, political beliefs and a variety of topics, but once the XBox and Playstation debate comes up, opposing sides turn into mortal enemies at the drop of a hat
Communist.... what's wrong with red white and blue?!
Actually I don't really have a preference, I drink whatever is there.
Back to the topic though, I am interested in seeing how Sony will improve PSN to make it more like what the Xbox has. Part of why Xbox online is so good is because they "won" the initial race out the gate and kids wanted the Xbox to play with their friends and a really good online made that better. Although Sony caught up and passed them in sales, the damage was already done and they fell behind in the online service. Now with the PS4, they're killing Xbox in sales (3 to 1), which should increase the demand to make their online service better. They are on the right track (and I love that they reward players with free games for those that pay for the service) but they still have ground to cover.
That should be an interesting development over the next few months, as well as seeing how Microsoft counters. Thus far in the sales, other than South Park picking them, they've been out maneuvered by Sony at almost every turn. Even though they fixed some of the issues, the bits they said (soldiers can suck it up and just get a 360 when they required a constant Internet connection, which they changed a stance on, for the most part) Sony took advantage during press conferences and it seems that it's worked for them, and Xbox needs to change something up to make it worth it to the consumer.
You might not ever see PSN pass XBL in terms of quality. Microsoft is a software company, and their expertise really shows in that area. (An example would be how your updates are done while your machine is in it's sleep state, so you don't have to worry about it blocking your playing time). It's little things like those that improve the quality of life in an online environment.
Also, take into consideration the cloud. We haven't really seen what it can do yet. And maybe that's why the system specs are different. Microsoft might have put too much faith in cloud computing to bring the disparity back up to par.
