I think undoubtedly WR will be a priority now.

Do they go for Higgins or Godwin?

Or do we now use this first pick on WR?

Draft aside from Higgins and Godwin none of the free agents are that enticing.

If we’re not trading for one (I have no idea who may be available) then we have to draft one.

Our WR room is officially downgraded unless we hit in FA or the draft. FA seems more likely as the draft isn't the easiest. Kupp is going to be a huge void as a vet presence. As an example, I'll bring up something painful to show the importance of a vet. Beaux Limmer against Philly. I know Dotson wasn't much better but when you play with a guy for a long time, you know what the other is thinking so it just goes more smoothly. Kupp knows the ins and outs of the NFL game, blocks like no other, and was clutch whenever we needed him. He helped coach up Puka and it wouldn't surprise me if Whittington benefitted from that as well. All teams need those pro/glue guys to be even more successful. I understand the business side of it, but its going to hit us harder than many know. By the way, WR is definitely a huge need as Puka has also shown to get injured as well back to his college days. Yes he's a warrior but he plays the position very physically.

Hasn’t Godwin had some injuries the last few years?

Maybe they go the Golliday/Marvin Jones. I different type of receiver from what they’ve had. Guts that can go up for jump balls and stretch the field.

There will be other surprise cuts and trades. Remains to be seen who else might be available.
Kupp to me just seemed to be an extension of McVay.
Wasnt a carry over player like Goff or Gurley or a trade pickup like Woods, Ramsey or Stafford.
Home grown superstar. Alas, turn the page and hope they get something decent compensation wise.
On one hand I'd like to see him do well, but on the other I'd hate to see Kupp blow up on the Chiefs

Both! Free agency and the draft.

By trading Kupp, they are losing 4 WRs from the 2024 WR room: Kupp, DRob, Tutu, and Tyler Johnson.

Left standing is Puka, Whittington, and Xavier Smith.

They will need to add at least 3 more bodies to that position.

I like Emeka Egbuka if we're drafting. Not sure if he will be around at #26.

Both. Can't go into this season with Puka and a rookie.

This.

I think its very possible we bring DeMarcus back for the same amount, sign another cheaper FA and spend a 3rd rounder on one.

That will get us:

Puka
Robinson
FA (i.e. Lazard)
Whittington
Rookie

I hope they prioritize a guy in free agency. A big producer.

This would be a very underwhelming WR room IMO.

Now if that rookie was the 26th pick, like a Matthew Golden or Egbuka, then that would be much better. The offense needs to add some dynamic, explosive players to it and I'm not seeing Robinson and Lazard as the answer there.
