So tell me how Will Smith isn't arrested right now? No matter what Rock said on stage, that's assault and I don't think it's necessary for Rock to file a complaint for it to happen.

I read y’all’s responses and we are on two different sides of this. That shit was amazing. Will has been dealing with Jada fucking everyone in Hollywood and was laughing until she wasn’t….I thought that shit was funny as a MF. I think it happening to Cris Rock was funniest. Rock declined to press charges. The release from LAPD stated he still has the option. In certain states (Colorado) it wouldn’t matter what choice Rock made, Smith would get charged with Battery.

Smith is a POS IMO

Its insanity.
It was assault, plain and simple.
He should have been escorted out of theatre immediately.
Instead, he gets to stay, and receive an award?
Just an embarrassment and a sad reflection on where we are as a society

Like I've seen stated in multiple other places, Chris Rock can handle a hit better than Will Smith can handle a joke. It was a sad look for Smith imo. He could have handled it off stage or at an after party not on live tv at the very least. He ended up winning best actor 10 minutes later apparently and could have put Rock in his place with words which would have been far more effective. But he went with violence instead.

From what I've read (don't watch award shows unless someone bitch slaps someone) it was a great night for minority wins and instead of celebrating that we will be inundated with this... that is unfortunate and a disservice done by Smith.

Will Smith was alright with the joke until he saw that his wife wasn't. If I found out that somebody insulted or disrespected my wife, I'd be upset as well. I would have handled it differently though. Too much going on in the world these days to be reacting violently at the drop of a hat, and in that arena. I'd be upset if my wife was in that instant. Cooler heads have to prevail.

But…Will Smith gets to say he slapped the shit out of Chris Rock on live National Television. It’s a cool story for when he’s telling his grandkids stuff. Lol I am fucking dying at the memes I’m seeing this morning
