Will it be Hemmingway? He was doing a lot and getting lots of targets, blocking assignments in TC last season. McVay was as upset as I've ever seen him when he broke his leg.

Another candidate could be Dominique Easley. He had a great season his first year here and then he tore another ACL early in TC last season. He says he had reconstructive surgery and the knee is better than coming into camp last season. Haven't heard his name much in OTA's, good or bad. If he can stay in DL rotation, he could emerge as one of the pass rushing DE's.

Whoops, sorry about that.

I put down Tavon Austin out of reflex action.

It is a joyous time when the only guys we can think of didn't even play last year, due to injury.

Is there such a player left on the roster who played so poorly that he is eligible for this?

I would say Alec Ogletree, if the g-men are smart and move him back to OLB.

Hemingway would not be eligle for comeback player, bubba.

Simply because he has “never been”. Lol.

However, he might well become our “most improved” player. Just messing with you, man.

I'll go with Barron. I've got a small case of the 'blinders" when it comes to him, cuz I love his attitude, and the way he tackles. He was out of position a lot last year though.

He really is an OLB/Safety hybrid, but he's going to shine inside after a year in WP's system.

While I believe both Easley and Hemingway are far more likely to bring home the title of 'Comeback Player of the Year', someone like Tanzil Smart would make for a great story also. He had an awful 2017 as a rookie, but being we have some 13 defensive linemen in camp and guys like Donald, Brockers & Suh as likely free agents sooner rather than later, his stepping into a pivotal role could be a real positive note, ... on the other hand, he may not even survive camp this time around, hopefully he's worked on his strength & technique this off-season. jmo.

Is Hemingway, the Nelson Spruce of Tight Ends?:fuelfire:

If Easley came on and had a really good season would that make Donald expendable.
