As mentioned, I like Higgins a lot but I hope they would trade down and take him in the early 2nd. If we're staying put and taking a WR at 26, I'd like Egbuka.

Simmons is a fav of mine too.
I get what you are saying. I prefer Higgins to Egbuka.
Both should be good WRs, but give me that harder to find X at his size than an easier to find slot type.

So trade back like 8-10 spots?

Before signing Adams, Higgins was my preferred choice because that X WR is harder to find than a slot guy. However, Adams is signed for 2 years and if he has a productive 2025, which I expect, he will likely be back in 2026. That would be nearly half the rookie contract that the draftee is sitting.

I feel there's a greater chance of failure with Atwell and Whittington slotted to take the slot snaps versus Adams at the X, so I'd like reinforcements there.

Yes, if available. I'd love Higgins at 35-40. If not available, take the BPA amongst a similarly ranked pod of players as Snead has described before.
I dont understand why you'd love him at 35 but not at 26?

Versatility.
Adams took quite a few snaps from the slot last year. Plus, Higgins could and has even take snaps there, too.
I like Higgins taking snaps in the slot far more than I like Egbuka taking snaps at X.

Right now I'm seeing Egbuka going up and down the board, sometimes right before us and sometimes right after us.

There's a non-zero chance that Puka actually moves from a mostly Z receiver to F (replacing Kupp) with some Z thrown in. Some of this will depend on who the top 3 receivers are in 11 personnel next year as Tutu probably thrives in F and can easily play Z but you might really want Puka at F regardless.

Watch us not draft a WR high, the kid needs time to come along and Whittington beats out Tutu in most 11 sets and we see Adams at X, Puka at F and Whit at Z (which oddly would most likely resemble Sammy, Kupp and Woods back in the day).

How does a Jalen Royals fit ? I’d like to trade back, get a 2nd and nab him there.

I haven't seen a bunch of him but sounds like a guy who could bump between Z and slot. Could be a sacrificial X like Jefferson but feels like a waste with him.

Edit: I am with @Memphis Ram all day on this. I would love Higgins and wouldn't be upset if we took him in the first. Kollmann talks about him at the end (about 20:30) of this, but the whole vid is worth watching. Norman-Lott is another one to watch.

I trust the Rams. If Higgins is the only player left on their list of R1.26 prospects then pick him. If he’s not on that list or is one of a number of prospects why not trade down and pick up another top 80 pick. Remember, the Rams really need quality depth in a number of positions vs a stud in any one position.

I don't disagree with you, I am just saying I would not be upset with him @ 26. I feel like our WR situation is a bit up in the air after this season.
