Which 2025 draftee would you trade up for, if any? Why or why not?

Chiefs, Steelers and Cowboys were all ahead of the curve in identifying talent in the '60s and early-'70s
And that is one of the main reasons that then Rams Daniel F. Reeves and George Allen did not get along. Reeves was one of the first owners to introduce scouting to the NFL and Tex Schramm learned under Reeves. Allen wanting to trade draft choices like Harold Jackson (Rams drafted Jackson originally in 1968) drove Reeves crazy.

I think that is really (not the hideous field issue) an NCAA issue, not everyone can play in 1 of the 2 conferences that are respected present day SEC 16 & Big 18
Not true, years ago everyone was wondering why Boise State could not join the PAC-12 and the reason was because of not offering graduate programs. Again that was years ago, they now offer graduate programs and it looks like they will join a new PAC 12 beginning in 2026.

I think Travis Hunter could fall and possibly be worth trading up for if they are high on him... it would be awesome if they could address 2 positions of need with 1 player.

I use Draft Buzz a lot.... but, find their rankings on some players to be a little off sometimes, and there are some players that I have tried took to look up and they are not even listed on the site..... players that would be consensus 200-300
That's what turned me off about the website. Sometimes players would be missing or just placed in the wrong draft class.

I just took a look this morning and it just took me two minutes to see the NDSU QB Cam Miller who shined at the 2025 East West Shrine Bowl is listed in the 2026 draft rankings.

I was talking present day, yes the Pac 12 is raiding the mountain west. I think it will cost somewhere around 100 mil to join, don't remember the exact amount if I ever heard it at all. We have 2 conferences that include 34 of the top Football schools some 2nd tier conferences that I mentioned along with whatever they call the Mountain West/Pac 12 merger, as of now I believe it still stands at 4 MW teams joining. Then you have rest that include a couple quality independents the mid American and Conference USA and that's about it for FBS .

On another note whether Boise could or could not join due to not meeting the criteria I don't ever remember them getting any interest from the Pac, Was it just assumed that had they have met the criteria they would have received an invite. Who was going with them? The Pac 8 - 10 - 12 has a history of adding 2 teams or were they in line to bump Colorado or Utah during the 10 - 12 team expansion. I don't ever remember their name coming up. I am old though so there is that

I dont think the Rams will draft a QB at #26, but I do believe that if they like a particular one they will need to trade up for him.
If there is any truth to their recent inability to trade up, I would assume they would appear to "overpay" as well.

How about Emmanwori. A thumper who can play SS/NB and I believe ILB. Curl and/or Lake may be gone next year, OLB is an immediate need. I see him as the Cooper Dejuan of 2025.

Type their names in the search.

Honestly, I wouldn't even be upset with someone like Harold Fannin in the first round. I know he's rated third-round by some sites, but he reminds me of a better Jordan Reed. Just an incredible talent, and he's a top-thirty-two in my eyes.

I wouldn't mind taking Conyers with a sixth either. The tight end class is stacked, and there's not many that I wouldn't want on our team.
I thought the interesting comp for him was Aaron Hernandez.

I don't know about a move in the first but could see us keeping an eye on the QB position and maybe making a move for McCord who I think would be a great prospect for McVay. I see 2nd to 4th round grades on him and if he is there in the 3rd I wont be at all shocked if we snatch him

Do you have a big board? Where would Fannin slot in on your board?

Does he have some sort of issue or red flag bubbling behind the scenes? Because while I agree he's a bit overrated (the generational talent shit is so overused it's ridiculous I think) it's not like there's a deep group of blue chips at the top of this one.

Keep in mind this is just March 23 and one month from now draftnik media will have far more information. It happens every year for some players and he's had a strong pre-draft process so far. As long as no character or medical issues come to light I expect his pre-draft rating to rise.

But, either way, this TE draft class is just TOO DEEP to consider a trade up for Warren. It's the deepest draft class in years and the nature of the position makes it easier for a player to have success as they typically aren't garnering the defenses best coverage guy. Everyone made a huge deal about Brock Bowers season last year and it was good. But it appears that few even noticed that Trey McBride was right there with him. A healthy Tyler Higbee could be right there with them if given the opportunity.
I don't consider the depth of a class to be prohibitive for trading up for a special player. If Warren is considered a game-changer and a possible all pro player, you trade up for that no matter how much depth there is in the class.

The only pertinent question is if he's considered to be that special.

I haven't gotten a full big board as of yet. I'm mainly focused on the players whom I think could possibly fall to us.

Unless that player is a QB, I do. And for a few reasons.

1) Years ago perhaps the DEEPEST WR draft class featured a unicorn in Keyshawn Johnson. He was considered so special he went #1 overall. Others in that draft class? Terry Glenn, Marvin Harrison, Eric Moulds, Bobby Engram, Terrell Owens, Muhsin Muhammad, Amani Toomer & Joe Horn. IMO, this is perhaps the DEEPEST TE draft class that I can recall.

2) TE is not a premium position. Just the nature of the position affects it's overall impact. How much more of an overall impact would an extremely special TE have on his team vs. a very good TE if BOTH players are on the same page with their QBs? I believe it would be very small and if so why give up picks trading up.

3) Finally the team. And this is a shift for me, but IMO, the only reason to select a TE in the 1st round is if that player is CLEARLY the BPA (and it's not even close) AND that player is going to be featured on offense. I just don't see that happening on a team with Puka Nacua and Davante Adams.

Warren, Jeanty, Hampton, Egbuka.
Weapons.

Adams was a nice add. Tutu? We’ll see.

FA has been successful to fill needs and add depth elsewhere but i still strongly believe that our skill guys are lacking in explosion. As of today I still don’t see much “he can score from anywhere” guys here.

It’s possible that the Rams hit on these qualities on day two or three of this draft but not likely.

I would have zero issues with going up to grab a true difference maker.

We have a two year window with Stafford (maybe just one year) ….and a pretty good roster overall. We’re close.

F them picks should be in play if the opportunity is there. Some of our more conservative members and draft pick hoarders will scold me im sure. I know what this offense needs. Trust me.

iu
I think we need Hampton

I believe more factors would be considered. Like the amount of team needs, depth of game changing type players, positional need, and preference of the head coach.

Kelce has made a huge difference for the Chiefs, as did Gronk for the Patriots. There have been a few other very impactful tight ends. The Chargers had two, one of which, Joyner, was alongside two good receivers. Then they had Gates. Sharpe was a game changing TE, and so was Tony Gonzalez and Jason Witten. So, if a team thinks Warren has that sort of ability, then, in a draft low on stars, he’s worth a move up no matter how many 6th round picks Snead has to part with.

I also think that if McVay had that level of weapon, then he and Stafford would figure out how to get him the ball. Big targets that get open and have reliable hands tend to get used.

Do the Rams think Warren or even Loveland are that type of player? Who knows, but if they do, the fact that they tried to trade up for a TE two consecutive years makes it difficult to rule out the possibility, despite TE depth in this draft. They’d be drafting a star, not a position.

Unless it would be trading a player...wouldn't trade up. We need these picks...all 7 of them. I'd be more inclined to ADD picks.
