What if we finally put 4 qtrs together next week, what would the score be?

What if the Titans beat the Seahags this week?

What if Sean McVay held an open K tryouts in this semi-bye break?

What if..................

Sean isn't going to replace Lucas but it wouldn't surprise me if they have Evans practicing from 40+ yds. Just casual observation Lucas' kicks from 40+ should probably be made from the right hash. IMO that would probably help him. Once again his miss was from the left hash.

I don't see the Niners not resting anyone when the Rams play them. The Rams are in their heads like a bee that is constantly buzzing around them. The Rams won't die or go away.

In 4 years of college, Ethan Evans never made a FG over 41 yards in his entire college career.

He was strictly a punter for the first 3 years. In his senior year, Evans had a dual role of K and P. Evans was only 10 of 18 on FG's his senior year (only 55% conversion rate). So no, the Rams would not entertain the idea of Evans as a "long FG specialist". Evans is a gifted punter, but his K stats are nowhere near the NFL minimum.

You've mentioned your notion of Evans kicking FG's multiple times. Perhaps after learning about Evans' college kicker stats you might change your mind about the wisdom of trying him at K.

Below, a link to Evans' K stats at Wingate.

I hope Mason Crosby doesn't have a career day against us ! -- the Fatboy

Additionally, we have a potentially perennial Pro Bowl punter. Why would we knacker his leg on long field goal duty?

That's true but from what I've heard and knowing kickers I would not doubt it, Evans would practice 50+ yd kicks, they all do even Lucas.

That said there might be something to McVay's search for a new snapper. It's all about the laces and how the ball comes back to the holder. Evans has never held so he might not be adept at spinning the ball to get the lace placement right. If the snap is consistent each time it makes it a whole lot easier.
