OL early was a bit of a surprise but makes sense. Allmost all of the picks have a lot of starting experience and have played a lot of football in their college careers, which makes it easier to predict what we're going to get in the NFL. Solid players.
If you count what the Rams got in return for their '18 1st and 2nd picks, I give a B+

My only complaint is not getting
"that one guy I really wanted".

And if everybody were totally honest, thats usually most folks biggest problem with any draft.

Yeah, I wanted Shaquem Griffen in horns. I think he can be a great player.... but Snead has great scouts, his coaches have lots of input and the guys we got all make sense in some way.
With the trades for pro bowl starters and the role positions drafted, I am very into it.

Joseph Noteboom gets a B+

Brian Allen gets a C+

John Franklin-Myers gets a C-

Micah Kiser gets a B-

Ogbonnia Okoronkwo gets an A+

John Kelly gets an A

Jamil Demby gets an A+

Sebastian Joseph gets a C

Trevon Young gets a C

Travin Howard gets a C+

Justin Lawler gets a C+

Overall? I'd give them a B-. They really missed on some picks, in my honest opinion; not getting Shaquem Griffin, Duke Ejiofor, or Jeff Holland hurts. Overall, though, they made some good picks (I've raved about Demby, Kelly. and Obo, and Kiser and Noteboom are growing on me), and my grades are not the end-be-all.

A-
...Really loved the Oline picks, which I didn't expect....I called for supplementing the Oline a few months and feared they would gamble this year by not thinking ahead about replacing the older guys on the Oline and would go after shiny edge rushers and LBS. Wade must have told Snead that he liked the guys he had at LBer and Edge, and that he could use some back ups later.....EXcelleNT!

I can understand your frustration on some of the ones you wanted, besides Griffin, the others you mentioned weren't drafted as high as most of sideline GM's thought they would go. So maybe that's why they get paid and we don't. But Griffin really hurts, especially with him going to Seattle and having to watch him and his story being paraded around, driving that knife deeper in.

I'll give the Rams draft an A-
But if the Rams cheerleaders had announced at least one pick I might have given it a solid A

If I had to grade it right now...

OT Noteboom: C to B, somewhere in there. He has good feet for a big guy, but has to work on strength. He got taken where he did due to a crappy class, so whatevs. Was afraid Rams would push OT with that pick and they did. Should stick on roster and get every chance to be a guy for the future.

OL Allen: B. I like this pick more than Noteboom in round 3 personally. Think this guy will stick and give us depth this year.

DE Franklin-Myers: C range. He's a 5T most likely in our defense, and I think his drafting is in response to what our line played like after Brock went out in the playoffs.

ILB Kiser: C. He's a two down LB in this defense IMO. Hope I'm wrong.

OLB Okorongkwo. A. Getting him where they did was great value and he's a huge need. Long arms, good range, and just great fit for this defense. Will probably start and not leave the field for us.

RB Kelly. A. Watch Tennessee's games and it's Kelly and a bunch of JAGs. Great pickup in round 6 man.

OL Demby. ???. Haven't seen enough of his stuff to really comment. I do trust our OL coaches though.

DT Joseph: B. He's a big kid who can move, flashed a little, just what you want if you go DT this late.

DE Young: C. Medical concern and whatnot but this is round 6 so whatevs. Big and athletic, we'll see.

LB Howard: A. Solid late pick, undersized but watch TCU's defense he's got good range and gets after it. Really like this pick so late as it is.

DE Lawler: ???. Didn't watch any of his tape, but it's round seven so yeah.

Wouldn't even try to grade the whole draft right now other than to say in comparison to the quality of guys some other teams added the Rams came up a bit short. Positive is that we added veterans who we will hopefully sign.

Going into the draft we knew we needed some LBs across the board and OL depth. So judging from that perspective and given that we didn't have a round 1 or 2 pick, I think Les did pretty damn well.

At this point I'll also bet the Rams are hyper-aggressive on LBs in the UDFA period here. So strap in for more additions IMO.

I don't think Holland got drafted at all.

Wonder what was up with that... it wasn't just us, apparently.
He didn't I just looked. Time for the UDFA calls to start and I pray we are on the horn with his ass! Would be a nice pick up to say the least!

Every time they announced a Rams draft pick , I was like

Going to have to leave it to the RoD drafthounds, because outside of a handful of players, I know squat about these college kids.

I DO however, like that they addressed areas of concern. OL and LB. Also a backup RB was nice to see.

We were fortunate that the team stayed relatively healthy at OL last season. That is going to be hard to do again this year.... so having some youngsters to learn from the vets and possibly plug in here and there will be great.

I think if we want to preserve TG, we definitely need to give him less of a workload. N.O. caught lightning in a bottle running Kamara and Ingram this past season. We don't have to duplicate that at all... but to mix in some different looks would be amazing and give the defense even MORE to worry about.

How long until the season begins? :football:
