We all probably have a rather long wish list but that’s not realistic.

I suspect that Rams can only do one, maybe 2 moves.

I think a move at edge would yield most bang for the buck. Doesn’t have to be a big name like Quinn. Just a solid player there kinda like the Corbett move a few years ago. Someone that Rams consider a scheme fit but is sitting there under the fans radar? Rams current scoring D is excellent but can you imagine the possibilities if they can get more pressure rushing 4?

If there’s cap room left over, and I think there will be, a solid (and healthy) RB would be a smart move. Again, don’t need a McCaffrey, just a solid RB with decent vision that can provide injury insurance. Surely there are a few out there, don’t you think?

Notice I didn’t include OL among my 2 allowed acquisitions? That’s because I don’t consider it a top 2 need for a playoff run at this time. Allen’s back and Shelton will join in a couple of weeks. And Bruss plus Anchrum will be rejoining next year.

That OL can get us to the SB if other parts of our O start doing their job. Not an All Pro line, but plenty good enough, imo.

Speaking of which, I’m excited about Jefferson’s return. I think I’m guilty of underestimating his importance to this O.

So, get me a solid edge upgrade and a solid RB and I’m a happy camper. If they can be 3 year additions rather than a 3 month rentals, so much the better.

Needless to say I’m willing to spend future premium picks, if necessary, to acquire quality talent right now. Right up Snead’s alley, huh?

I think they need to do something in all three areas you mentioned.
The big question is whether they can use Akers to leverage any one of those three trades.
I do agree with you, though, that the line getting healthy could be enough.. so it would be my 3rd priority behind edge and RB.

I feel people get enamored in skill position players. That line in no way, shape or form, is a Super Bowl caliber offensive line IMO.

I think so much of that depends on how good Jackson can be and how healthy the interior gets.

I'd love to see blockbuster trade that brings us Brian Burns.
Following that, I'd offer one of our 6'th round picks to make a play for RB D'Ernest Johnson
I doubt there is a starting quality IOL that will be made available to us, so I raid another practice squad.

I'd like a RB and preferably one that has some power to his form. But I don't want to lose that 2nd rounder.

I don't know that a sixth would get it done. Believe Johnson is an UFA after the season.

Even though RBs don't typically get paid, Johnson could bring-back a comp-pick higher than a #6.

I could easily sweeten that deal with an additional 2024 later round pick.

Anyone think Noteboom may get moved for an edge or RB to a rebuilding team?

No, I'm afraid we'll have to endure Noteboom for 2023 due to his contract numbers, but would look to a potential trade in 2024.
Maybe another year in Whitworth's garage gym will improve his prospects.

I think outside the first game the D is playing well enough and they are getting some reinforcements back, I think that puts them at a lower priority. When is Hardy coming back?

OL has been a disaster because of injuries and who knows if we are done with that calamity. A solid IOL would be a smart target but I’m not sure who might be available or if the FO and McVay have seen the light when it comes to the importance of the OL.

CMC has his warts but some of that has come from over use on a shitty team. If the Rams go after him I think they would treat him better and he would be a great addition. I would want to restructure to keep him for at least two more years. And I damn sure don’t want him going to SF.

I was hoping with Takk McKinley being waived that it might be a sign that Hardy was nearing return, either way, it should be relatively soon, perhaps even right after the BYE, although his name wasn't one of those mentioned in the Jourdan tweet.

I would have to agree, the only real trades I could see is a minor one for a RB, and potentially a bigger one for an edge. The complete lack of production from the edge is evident and badly needed to be addressed. Honestly, we've actually played solid D even without any edge pressure. Imagine if we had even the slightest edge presence, might actually get some turnovers.

Listening to Jourdan Rodrigue speak about the possibility of getting CMC on the podcast has me excited/optimistic at the chance.

I really don't want SF getting him.

He probably makes this team better than any other single addition we could make. Of the options that we have heard about thus far being on the market at least. But for how long. He's going to need to carry some load here.

So I have a sense of doom with him. That we're gonna get him and he'll immediately miss six weeks or whatever. But if it happens I will of course get all excited because I'm a sucker for a midseason RB addition. :laugh4:

I'd much rather we go after Burns, ... I'm not very hopeful for the 2023 draft class producing many excellent mid to late 2'nd round Edge players.

I get what you're saying. BUT, our Defense has performed pretty stellar with a lackluster EDGE performance. Meanwhile the Rams O had been very lackluster without an elusive RB (and OL). I FEEL like CMC would go further toward us winning than Burns.
