It’s been reported that the rams were interested in moving up for T Mac and that the panthers were like, “not this time buddy”, and asked for a kings ransom. So they felt like they got a raw deal from the rams previously?

Well, most thought the trade up with Carolina for Braden Fiske was too much for the Rams to give up. After watching Fiske for a year it was clear the Rams were the winners of that trade. Its also reported the 49ers were interested in trading up for TMac. So maybe its just Carolina was dead set on drafting him.

No they were just being dicks in terms of trying to fleece us. They liked the player they wanted that much I guess. Happy it didn't go thru.

The Panthers liked McMillan and didn’t want to lose him. So they figured if they were going to let him go, it would have to be an overpay.

I agree with them. If they loved a player it has to be well worth it to let another team have him.

Aside from that: due to recent drafting and UDFA success, if the Rams called asking to trade up, some GMs could be second guessing who they are excited enough to move up for and thinking maybe they should be more excited about that player. :laugh1:

If a team is making a decision in the draft over a grudge with another team, good luck having long term success.

Not sure why they'd have a grudge -- Les tried to give them two first rounders for Brian Burns, and they rejected it. The following year, the Giants gave up only a 2nd and a 5th to get Burns. Seems like they should be grateful to Les.

I was just going off the conjecture of the original post

I read this story the other day but cannot locate the article.

What I recall is the Panthers were set to draft TMac but when the trade calls came in they set the "price" high enough to make it worth their while if someone was crazy enough to match it.

I don't think it had anything to do with Les.

This one?

Its all just gossip at this pint so who knows the real truth. I still do Not think McMillan was their target. I think the Rams wanted a TE. McMillan does not fit with the Rams current draft profile due to the character concerns. Prior to the draft Many questioned his love of the game and work ethic. Definitely not a McVay type.

Drama llamas.

That was some weird group clapping (after the ram called and didn’t accept their trade terms) and they said Tmac. Weird vibe

I agree with you. Tet wouldn't make all that much sense for us right now. One of the TE's however certainly does (did).

Thank you God we didn't do it. It would have cost us as much as 3 1st rounders in retrospect as we wouldn't have got next years 1st.

Yeah man. That clap felt like an explosive outlet of group nervousness.

Also who's the head motherfucker in charge of their draft. The GM? Or the overly chatty executive vp of running his mouth. If I was the owner that dude wouldn't be around long.
