Man I love oysters.

I get about 3 dz a week in the summer.
Home made mignonette with red wine vinegar, brown sugar and crushed red pepper.

Wife likes em cooked on the grill with a bit of basil and parmesan cheese.

Oyster stuffing at Thanksgiving is the way to go

I buy a half bushel of oysters all the time from our local seafood place. Cammy and I have eaten the whole half bushel by ourselves. We love em.

I put mine on the grill until their shells pop open. That's my preferred way of eating them. I make a variety of toppings for them too. Horseradish is a must... I load that on.

I LOVE olives. Green or black... I can eat them by handfuls almost.

Seared sea scallops are awesome but they can never touch a freezer and you can keep those little rubber erasers that come out of the bay.
I've had scallops steamed right of the fishing boat at the fresh fish market/wharf in Washington DC, and they were like slippery white hunks of pale colored snot. The texture didn't allow me to enjoy the sweetness of them. I know it might be sacrilege in the House of Stu, but I loved Long John Silver's scallops when they made them. When they stopped offering them, I quit going to that restaraunt...

Lima fucking beans. Also Beets.....:sick::sick::sick:

Some of the dislikes in this thread are CRAZY!!!! Pasta?? Mashed Taters? Eggs?? Crazy.....
Now back when I was a kid I was the only one in the family who would eat liver and onions with my Dad. I don't think it's great, but I don't dislike it. I had it about 10 years ago and it did nothing for me.

buy? what's this "buy" shot you mention.

My buddy has an oyster farm here and all I have to do is text him by Thursday afternoon, and on Friday afternoon there is a bag hanging off his dock with my name on it.

( of course I did have to help him re-build his dock and build a platform for some small wind turbines that power the pumps for the farm)

try em with a migonette

1/2 cup red wine vinegar
tablespoon brown sugar
tsp minced shallots
tsp crushed red pepper

No sir.... And you pineapple pizza eaten sunzabitches are just wired wrong. Pineapples on hot tomato sauce with cheese??? Gag me with a spoon.

This shit was never served in The 808.

Calling it Hawaiian is sacrilegious.
Next time you're in Honolulu...

I love a good apple pie - something I got from my dad. Put raisins in it and that is one disgusting mess of squishy, hot fruit. Cooked fruit in general makes me want to gag. And cherries in particular. I LOVE fresh cherries but cooked? Gross. Of course pie cherries start out being unfit for human consumption.

saurkraut. low quality, high quality, homemade, pre-fab. mega heartburn.

watermelon, cantaloupe. part of an infamous saturday as an 8 year old. the dreaded "orange meat" day experiment from my stepmonster's laboratory. after that trash i was force fed cantaloupe. now the smell of it or H2O melon brings back repressed memories.

I forgot add two foods that I used to love by now can't handle. When I was a kid, I loved spinach. One time ate too much and puked it out. Now can't stand the taste of it.

As an adult, salad/lettuce were absolute musts and on burgers. I've had health issues and now I can't bear lettuce when it gets anything but ice cold. If it gets warm at all, which it will on a hot burger, I have to scrape it off. I live about 15 miles away from the closest burger joint and it;s ruined if I wait even that long before eating a burger. Anymore, I just order it now without lettuce, tomatos and onions.... We all understand the nastiness of onions and sliced tomatos, but the lettuce thing is wierd...

(Seriously, sliced tomatoes and onions are fine by me, especially if the onions are grilled.)
