I was.

I found the game enjoyable because of the defense played by both teams while granting that I was quietly rooting for Dallas to beat the Saints.

But the execution of the game did make me realize that the sort of excellence displayed by the defenders is something that I’ve missed from the NFL and to a much greater extent, college football.

Wondering what you guys thought...

This takes nothing away from the Thriller in LA.

I love games where it stays close.

That's the downside of super high scoring... if you fail to score you may never catch up, etc.

When the game hovers in the upper teens and low twenties... there is enough scoring to avoid feeling empty there, but the game always feels within reach if down.

This ^^^^^

I was only planning on watching a few minutes before doing something else. I ended up sticking around for the whole thing. I got sucked in and was definitely entertained.

It was fun watching the Saints lose and Dak's attempts to give the game away.
I really appreciate Cowherds take that Dak is Tim Tebow all over again, just a little better. Fumbles the ball the same and gets sacked the same as he has no pocket "feel" when it's collapsing and takes too long to go through his reads. But with a good defense, he can somehow squeak out a W.

Not normally a fan of a defensive game. But, that's what this particular game was all about. Can the Cowboys slow down or stop the Saints offense, enough to have a chance to win in the end. As the Cowboys started to have some success defensively, it got exciting. The score was close enough that one play could change the game for the Saints. That made every single play with Cowboys on defense gripping. I couldn't turn away. Loved the game!

I like good defense, but not when its just two sloppy offenses.

Spagnuolo and Fisher were both defensive HCs and yet their terrible offenses usually made the other team look like the 85 Bears.

The choice I would pick isn’t there. I enjoy defensive games. But I don’t enjoy offensive ineptness. I know this sounds weird, but if a game ends 13-10 but it’s because both are terrible, it gets boring. The Rams in 2007 lost to the 49ers 13-9 and it was an awful game.

If you are a fan of punting and special teams then it is a dream come true.
However, a good defensive game is fun to watch as long as it remains close.

I enjoyed the game mostly because "there wasn't a cup of ice water chance in hell" that the Cowboys would defeat the Saints and put the Rams in place for the first seed in the playoffs. I sat in awe the whole game thinking, Is this the team that's going to do it for us?. Now the Rams have a purpose to play and win their remaining game to include the 49ers.
