GRob was very raw for an NFL OT. One could say that he was a bit of a project.
And a coaching staff not very good at development, especially on that side of the ball.
Snead is a fortunate man to have gone from the old staff to the McVay staff.
Our current staff is at the top of the league in player development.

Might be one of the many elements Snead & #1 draft selections have not been a priority for him to keep. He just might be still mad & still kicking himself over that decision back in 2014.

However, then there's Aaron Donald.

Snead has collected 7 first-round selections on this roster currently plus he also has 9 2nd round selections too. Snead just goes about getting many of them differently than the rest of the other NFL GM's.

Guess might we say Snead is "Abby Normal"?

Although I’m not sure Sneed is the one that Sneed should be kicking, if you know what I mean. I recall Fisher saying he had final say over personal decisions back then. I suspect a fisher pick on this one.

Athleticism is pretty useless if you don’t have the football IQ to utilize it correctly. I always thought GRob was picked because of his physical tangibles and played for Snead’s alma mater lol

Correct. I remember seeing Grob's "highlight reel" when he was in the draft, and wasn't really impressed - mostly he did his damage on run plays, pancaking players who weren't in a position to make a tackle anyway. He reminded me a lot of Jason Smith back then, very athletic but you could tell they both weren't NFL LT's. I'm not really football smart but I trust my eyes & I suspected then that we were in big trouble.

Jason Smith and Alex Barron never had two pounds of crack on them! Haha

GRob just gave new meaning to the word "Bust".

Remember how he separated himself from Fisher near the end of Fisher’s tenure?

I always liked him as a coach.
I bet he still laughs at all the Jerry Jones failures.
I know I would be. Jerry is the perfect example of too much Arrogance+ Ego= no SB's

yeah jerry thought he was a great draft man but the only real great draft he had was because the vikings made one of the dumbest trade ever when they gave thier hole draft for hershall walker. oh well i just hope he stays in charge of the draft for a long time.

I would love to hear Les tell the tale of how they chose that dude. Off the record where he could really spell out the hows and whys it went down. I'm sure Fisher was head over heels in love with those measurables but the story has to be good, especially when it's one of two picks and the other was a fucking grand slam.

A quote from Jimmy Johnson -

"Hit me in the head with a hammer if I ever draft a dumb player again."
One of my favorites! I used it all of the time when Fisher was our coach.

Agreed and I'm happy for Gus Malzahn one of the nice guys plus you know I have a heart for UCF because they were the first college to accept me and offer me a partial scholarship for football way back in 1984.

That being posted I do like a Safety from Auburn just based off his name...Smoke Monday!

Monday’s actually a good safety prospect. Big and rangy, should be available in the sixth.

I haven't really watched much college ball since the COVID shit started. But it seems like the players RoD is all over tend to rise on the boards. :crying:

I just pray that we draft Tyler Badie (RB, Missouri). He reminds me of Jamaal Charles, and I’m not saying that because he’s a Mizzou player.

True but I look at everything bad that happened during the Fisher era as what led us to where we are today. Thank god Fisher wasn't just a little bit better, because if he hadn't been Mr. 7-9 the stars likely wouldn't have aligned for us to end up with McVay.
True, I don't regret my crazy, neurotic 1st wife, cause it lead me to my wife of 32 years.

That's because we have the best in the business. That and we get 3-5 mock drafts from about 7 people. We're bound to catch some good ones.

That was a Jimmy draft not a jerry draft. Jerry wanted the praise Jimmy got and complete control.
Jerry was jealous. So no Jerry has never had a great draft like the ones Jimmy had.
