I didn't watch the Colts much last year but they seemed way too eager to get rid of this guy for some reason.

No way I'm getting rid of Wentz without an alternative already in place, but I guess those contract extensions have the GM and HC comfortable with tanking for a year or two. If I'm a player for the Colts, I'm looking to get the hell out of dodge right about now.

I’m shocked the colts got that much of a return on wentz - especially with WA taking on all of his salary too. Thought for sure he’d just get released

Ron Rivera starting to make me think he’s the new Jeff Fisher. Commodes seem like an 8-8 team

Both acquiring 2nd tier QBs too (Foles, Wentz) in a desperate ploy to get competitive at the one position you absolutely need to win in the NFL. It's hard to blame them, I guess. I consider Wentz better QB than Foles, but the latter had an uncanny ability to raise his game at times in the clutch.

I think you can do worse than Wentz. Especially this off-season. So, I guess I get jumping on Wentz.

But poor Washington. They have to go back to the 90’s and Rypien era to find a QB who was designated starter for more than 3 consecutive seasons.

CARSON WENTZQB, WASHINGTON Commodes
Carson Wentz

The Athletic's Zak Keefer reports the Colts' issues with ex-QB Carson Wentz "stretched back to before the season began."

Keefer paints a picture of a quarterback who was basically never liked or respected from the second he showed up in Indianapolis. "Over the course of the year, some grew frustrated at what they deemed a lack of leadership, a resistance to hard coaching and a reckless style of play, which had a role in several close losses this year." Other than that Mrs. Lincoln? But there's more. "The quarterback, who learned he was on shaky ground with the organization over the last month, reached out to owner Jim Irsay in hopes of setting up a meeting to 'clear the air,' a source said. But Irsay declined the meeting." Yikes. These are the exact kind of things that were said about Wentz his final days in Philadelphia. He frankly sounds unpleasant to work with. It is impossible to see how this will work in the league's most dysfunctional organization in Washington. Best of luck, "Commodes" fans.

FWIW @Elmgrovegnome I believe is right on point with this because Colts HC Frank Reich, who was Wentz's greatest advocate personally went up to Owner Jim Irsay and apologized for recommending the trade for Wentz. Wentz is proving that he's not a great leader, doesn't take direction well plus the combination of turning the ball over & his durability issue.

That being posted I still believe he's an upgrade of Taylor Heinicke and is now the second best QB in that divsion with a better target in Terry McLaurin then he had at Indianapolis. IMO, Irsay overacted to the Colts losing to Jacksonville, they beat the Bills too and have owned the Colts over the last couple of years.

I like the deal, but I'm more pro Wentz then most of you. The Commodes have Commode Carson and he's better then what they've had for quite sometime. That being posted, durability always an issue and Wentz has been turnover prone, I'm betting he'll turn it over less in Washington.
I thought this reunion with Reich was going to bring back the Wentz that was the mvp favorite. For them to bail on him after giving up high picks and only getting a bag of footballs in return has gotta make concubines fans very uneasy. The Colts maybe should’ve been a playoff team last year and now they’re looking at Garapalo or Winston.
I think I’m gonna send Les a gift basket for getting us off that merry go round.

The Packers maybe should keep Love, I mean Rodgers hasn’t actually “signed” a new deal despite reports that both sides have agreed in principle. Maybe someone should develop a new show for him, word games with Aaron. He used to be mildly amusing since he was toying with the powers that be but he’s kinda crossed over to insufferable prick.
