It would open up a ton of opportunities for play calls….would love it.

I really like the idea of him out there with Ramsey. Have to think they'd feed off each other and depth sure would look better.

If we sign Gilmore and Mathieu, might as well go the whole way and sign Akiem Hicks (who I thought we also had contact with).

I think so far it's Allen Robinson contacting him more than the Rams but that may have changed.

True. But where there's smoke, there's usually fire. I'm assuming we sign Hicks in free agency in my latest mock (which I'm working on now), but there's smoke around Gilmore as well. I guess I'm gonna have to change one of the three corners to safety, and honestly, I'm not feeling any of the round three safeties. To be fair to them, I haven't looked at too much tape; I've been busy with life and writing, but still...

You have Kyle Hamilton, Jaquan Brisker, Lewis Cine, Dax Hill, Jalen Pitre, Bryan Cook, Nick Cross...all of them are going first or second round, well before our pick in the third (and I'm using the mid-range pick on a tight end; you guess who he is.), and...well, yeah, I could use the Rams comp pick for a safety, but which one is worth it? I'm just not feeling any of the ones below the ones I mentioned are worth a third.

Fuck it, DeAngelo Malone is my pick for the comp; I'll use the comp we got from JJ3 for the safety. Not sure who's left, but hey, shit fucking happens, right?

I'm far more confident in getting Mathieu than Gilmore. And would take him 10/10 times over Gilmore.
I'm more of the Gilmore camp. I'm betting this guy with Ramsey gives us 2 lockdown corners especially if he's matching up with a teams #2 WR. Gives AD and company time to get home or rushes the QB to make dumb throws. Don't see Mathieu locking WRs down like that or affecting the D as much in that manner.

Gilmore is good, no doubt. But he's not what he was. And he's missed a lot of time. Mathieu has missed 1 game since '17. Availability is a great trait.
