Matchup Overview:

Date & Time: Sunday, June 8, 2025, at 6:00 PM ET (5 PM CT), at The Dome at America’s Center in St. Louis

TV Broadcast: FOX will air the game

Team Form & Momentum

St. Louis Battlehawks (8–2):
  • League’s best record, riding a 6-game win streak
  • Defense led by All-UFL sack leader DE Pita Taumoepenu (7.5 sacks)
  • All-UFL RB Jacob Saylors has been a force: nearly 500 rushing yards and 5 TDs Dominates attendance with roughly 30,000 fans per home game, including record-setting 40,000 opener

D.C. Defenders (6–4):
  • Lost their last two games, currently on a downward slide
  • QB Jordan Ta’amu leads the league with 17 passing TDs and is second in passing yards with 2,155
  • Defense watches with pride – four of their seven All-UFL players are defenders

Previous Meetings

Week 3: D.C. beat St. Louis 27–15 in St. Louis

Week 10: Battlehawks returned the favor with a 13–8 win in D.C.

Betting Lines & Predictions

Spread: St. Louis favored by 2.5 points

Battlehawks favored -145, Defenders at +122

Over/Under: Around 47.5 points

Most computer models favor St. Louis to win due to form and home advantage

Keys to the Game

St. Louis Defense vs. Ta’amu: Can they contain the league’s top passing TD leader?

Ground Game Control: Battlehawks’ rushing attack (4.7 Y/A) led by Saylors and a mobile Max Duggan is poised to pressure D.C.’s defense

Atmosphere: St. Louis’ electric home crowd could swing momentum – coach Becht emphasizes focus

Final Take

Expect a defensive, hard-nosed battle. If the Battlehawks control the trenches and rush effectively, they’ll likely secure the win. D.C. can pull an upset if Ta’amu connects early and the defense forces turnovers. But the pick leans toward St. Louis pulling off a narrow victory at home.

Go Panthers (Perkins). Tired of the Stallions winning it all every year. And they look too much like SF.

Horrible call. Hand fighting at best. Even more contact by the offense as well.

This game reminds me of the 1975 NFC Championship Game when the Rams finally had home field advantage and the Cowboys crushed them 37-7 and sent this nine year old to bed in tears.

Offense gets you lots of wins in the regular season. Defense gets you hardware.

Best QB is often the one that faced the lesser defense.

Or does he make them look like the lesser defense?
QB is the most important position. But way I see it a unit as a whole is > than any one position.

Last season we lost to Philly. Who had a shittier QB than us. But their defense was better.

We won the title over the Bengals, and had the better QB, but we also had the better defense.

I think in this UFL championship the better defense won.
