Anyone have any news on the injury? Read this a moment ago from Dr. David J. Chao (the SIRIUSXM NFL doctor):
Agree. Worry by video is high ankle type fracture with broken fibula.
Best case is significant high ankle sprain.
I hope he's wrong.

Lots of things look awful on video yet aren't overly serious. See: Wilson's MCL spain. We'll just need to wait on the test results. If Tru is done for the year though, which does appear to be our worst-case-scenario on this injury, I think the season is probably done. This Rams team is nowhere near deep enough at CB to handle that kind of loss.

If Tru is done, we'll rally around Troy Hill and play great football.

This one worries me to no end. He is one of the pieces we just can't afford to lose, just can't. But I'm sure he's out for at least until after the bye since he couldn't put any weight on it and was carted to the locker room. DAMN!

What would this do to his contract extension leverage?
I feel for the guy but he's always injured...if not one thing, it's another.
Hard to command top dollar when you're an injury liability...
I don't even see him getting Jenkins money since he can't stay on the field.

I sprained my ankle once and thought I broke it. Couldn't walk on it, couldn't put any weight on it. Turns out it was just a slight sprain and I was back on my feet after the weekend. Maybe this is one of those cases.

Most sprains hurt worse than breaks. I've had them both. Many times.
Still. The fact he couldn't put ANY weight on it concerns me.

I concur with many, this really hurts and Johnson is not only a stellar CB, but he's a leader as well. Unless there is somebody better out there, I tend to agree with @ramfan46 sign Mike Jordan off the practice squad and hope for the best.

He was released by the Colts so if he can't stay on that defense I will pass.

I'm not proposing that he is great any longer, but if the injury is longterm we will need a vet. We can't have Hill as the number 2 corner.

Sucks for us because we need him. Sucks for him because he is playing in the biggest contract year of his life.

If Fisher does not achieve 9 wins or better, it's time to get someone new...No more being strung along for the pot of gold, that we never find. I guess what I am saying that even though Tru is an important part of the defense, Fish owes us a winner in year five, no matter who is injured or what happens...which reminds me of...

Call up Mike Jordan from the PS. Big guy who can play outside. Really gonna miss Tru's run support and ball skills though.

I thought of Mike Jordan getting the call up right after Tru hobbled off the field. My heart sunk to my stomach thinking Tru is likely gone for most if not all of the the season.

I'm believing the release of Coty Sensabaugh was a possible indicator that Mike Jordan has been doing really well in practice.

They had no idea Tru would go down but when you look at the recent history of Troy Hill, Gaines and Joyner.... these 3 have had their share of bumps and bruises and are not exactly on the DURABLE list.

I believe Fisher is going to make the Mike Jordan call up

How much you want to bet we call Sensabaugh back?

I would expect a call up for CB Mike Jordan from the practice squad. We saw that the Rams were forced to play rookie SSLB'er Josh Forrest much more than usual due to the inability to stop the run. We may see Lamarcus Joyner who has been playing the SSLB position Nickle back & some SS more for the first 4 games in at Corner from this point too. The lost of our franchised corner Trumaine Johnson is huge to this defense.

Not very hopeful that safeties TJ McDonald & Mo Alexander can really help much in the deep secondary helping out the corners. Its going to really mess with what DC Gregg Williams wants to do to make his defense work good. GW may have to play FS Cody Davis more in the deep secondary.

Just before we traded away all our draft selections I was a strong advocate of selecting a couple of corners in the top of the 2016 draft. We sure could use a couple of 2nd & 3rd round rookie corners in our CB cadre right now.
