About $1.7M in savings
Not only that, he has playing time incentives that could have maxed out his contract to 8M, based on games played and reaching 60% of snaps.

So they were being fair to him to move him as they were not going to play him anymore. It would be a black eye for them to bench him for the year to avoid that cap hit.

And I will be happy for Goff when he wins the SB, he never did anything to us.
That could be in a couple of years, on the LA turf: :wow2:

I want Stafford to WANT to be a Ram and for the rams to continue to build around him and then for him to retire here, as a Ram at..... 41. Go Rams.

Which may be why they sat him.
To save money when they realized he wasn't much better than the guys that were younger.
Plus when they say him we were 1-4, so they might have decided to get the younger guys more game experience.
Either way, it's all worked out very well for both White and the Rams.

Spotrac has up-dated for the White trade, and it shows an increase of $800K of cap space.
Went from $2.2M to $3M. Don't know about the accuracy.

Over-the-Cap has not yet up-dated. With White on the roster, OTC has the Rams with $1.8M of cap space.

I think they needed to go on the hunt for a LB that's versatile. I expected them to go after Jamin Davis but they didn't. Green Bay has him now.

I like the versatility of Young and Verse being used as LBs...but I think they need to stop using Hoecht as an LB and put him on the DLine.
Speights is getting better in pass coverage so, I'm ok with him. Rozeboom has come on of late...but The Rams still need LB help and to not make a move is kind of crazy.

I don't think they view linebacker the way we do. W team that traded away their best inside linebacker since James Laurenitis wasn't going to prioritize one at the deadline. All well.

Yeah, kind of what I suggested. I would be more disappointed if we were 6-2 and turned it down. They probably feel we are still a bit away to go after a guy who will be 29.

If he was 26 like Ramsey was in 19', then maybe.
If they really wanted him they probably would have gotten him. So yeah they either think they're not quite on the cusp, or they aren't sure he's gonna be worth those cap hits he's got ahead.

I'm not disappointed or anything. Would have been fine with them adding him but there's a reasonable chance regret will follow for Washington.

How many years did we contribute to that , 7 or 8?
Not many tbh. We traded ours leading up to the draft so technically just the Jalen trade? The trade up for Goff and the trade for Stafford and another where we traded down we all during the offseason leading to the draft.

As of this morning, Spotrac increased the Rams current cap space by another $500K to $3.5M; and
OTC has up-dated to reflect the White trade, having the Rams with $3M of cap space.
