Brown has that leadership side going, but his schematic knowledge and decision making on players have always been questionable to me. I fucking hated our RB room under him. McVay loved him but the actual production by that room and decision making as to who is in that room were horse shit when Brown was our RB coach.
And it's not like he did shit at Carolina as OC other than contribute to getting an experienced coach fired. Then the same deal in Chicago. But hey that leadership got him another look, where it is obvious something is missing with the dude.
I'll say again that guys who take to leadership skills quicker than the rest can sometimes outpace their actual knowledge because they get higher positions than they are ready for. This was the case with Jeff Fisher. He jumped too fast and didn't do enough time in the trenches, where the hard lessons are reinforced and build your base of knowledge.
So my take on Brown is get your ass back into a RB room and get that shit right first. Then start taking OC jobs.
