The two easiest pre season predictions for me every year is that the Bears and Jets will be either bad or dysfunctional. Or both. Keep on shuffling coaches QB’s and players though.

I hope the Seahawks win this one. I don't want a meaningless game on Saturday night.

This Seahawks game doesn't actually mean much for them in terms of the division.

If we win Saturday, we essentially clinch either way - because the culmination of events that would need to happen for them to get the strength of victory tiebreaker is less than 1% likely.

So for them, they need us to lose Saturday. Whether they win or lose Thursday - if we lose Saturday and then they beat us, they win the division because they'd have a better division record.

Some Seahawks fans are almost wanting to rest their starters tonight because of that....which is insane

If the Seahawks lose on Thursday the Rams win the division right?

The Seahawks have to win both this week and next week, don’t they?

i think we still need a win to 100% eliminate them but...

could we lose both and mathematically qualify?

lol, im not sure...

right now it's 99% sure we are in...

go rams

The Bears have lost 9 straight but in that streak, they lost to Washington by 3, Green Bay by 1 (on a blocked last second FG), the Vikings by 3 (in OT) and Detroit by 3. They are capable of the upset and IMHO, they're due.

Bears sure look like they checked out for the season. Blown out the last 3 games. I don't expect much from them tonight. But you never know. If they have any pride left they can have hope for that any given Sunday. Or Thursday.

Nope - if they lose, they will be 8-8

If we then lose Saturday night, we will be 9-7

If they beat us in week 18, we will both be 9-8 - but in division, they would be 4-2 splitting with us while we would be 3-3 having split with them. They win the division because of division record being better than ours.

If they lose and we win this week, we do formally clinch the division and then I would bet we rest starters in the finale....if they don't lose this week, we will basically have the division wrapped up anyways but who knows if we rest in that scenario

Lots of Carrol haters but I think Carroll might be an okay fit there given the awful run they have been on with coaching hires. For once, he probably would bring in some success. He has taken young QBs and won before. Wilson and the Seahawks won a Super Bowl and could have won at least 1 more. The Bears have chronically underachieved and wasted what is a very talented roster. In today's NFL, I am not sure Carroll is the best man for the job, but you could do a lot worse. He'd be a Jeff Fisher hire, but a bit better IMO - will bring you back to consistent credibility but probably isn't the man to take you all the way. If they want to go the route of an older, defensive coach, I'd go Vrabel. But Carrol isn't bad.

That is wild. I would have thought head to head would be the tie breaker.
