This Saints Games is a lot bigger then we may think (11-5 may not make it)

I just went on playoff predictors and put a loss on the saints game with "most likely scores" for the rest of week 12. That keeps us out of the wild card and playoffs come Monday.

However, I then finished the season with W's over Cards, Sea, Titans and Niners (Loss to Phi) and got an 11-5 record. This can STILL leave us in 7th place!

There are a lot of toss up games in the NFC to be played and i did give Sea a W over Philly and Jags as a "worst case scenario" however just the fact that it's possible to be left out at 11-5 shows how tight this playoff race will be. Beating SEA in SEA still may not be enough.

I see the Logic in your scenario's, But I don't think your "Worst case scenario" will hold up! IMHO the Hag's will Lose Both of those games!

Worst case scenario Rams Lose to both the Aint's and The Eagles, finish 11-5 Win the Division, and then we go into the Playoff's were Everything always changes!

The 12 are all 0-0, the Playoffs are like a Brand New Season were IF you lose 1 game your OUT! FUN!!:mrburnsevil:

What ever happened to "one game at a time"... remember? Early in the season?

I hope (know) the coaches don't have this "Playoff Predictor" thing...

I'm finding it funny now... we went from (this is the general sense of the board, I know some took gambles) guarded optimism to optimism to numerous projections of playoffs.

Early on, it was "one game at a time"... now, it seems a lot of posts are way past the next game and into payoffs.

I'm sticking with the next game... and it's a real challenge!

I knew it was damn near a must win . IMO they needed to beat the Vikings or Saints . 4 conference losses and having to play the Eagles yet will not be good for tie breakers .

No 11-5 team has ever missed the playoffs...ever. This is gonna be a grind to get to 11-5, but if Rams make it...they're in!

i'm thinkin, 12-4

Here's our remaining schedule:

Saints
Cards
Eagles
Titans
Hawks
Losers (Sorry, 9ers)

How do we get to 12-4...curious? We would need 5 wins out of the 6 left. If Rams beat Cards, Titans and 9ers, that's 10-3. We'd need to win 2 of 3 against Saints, Eagles, Hawks; 2 of those three are home games. You really think 12-4 is still doable? I did until the Vikes game. Now I'm thinking 10-6 looks good and maybe 11-5.

11-5 makes the playoffs for sure. Even if we lose to Philly and NO, if we take care of business against the teams we should beat, we'll be fine. Beating NO is just icing on the cake.

Agree! The loss to the Vikes really messed up things. But, a win over the Saints would do wonders. I'd probably adjust to 11-5 or 12-4 if we beat them Saints!

Fans can and pretty much always will look at playoff scenarios if their team is in the hunt - which of course we very much are.

It’s the coaches we all have to hope are taking the one game at a time approach.

I always concentrate on the next game but can’t help but think of the what if possibilities. So one game at a time as we march toward the playoffs - yeah?
