I'm sure you've seen it this week. Even though the Rams are 7 point favorite over the Dallas Cowboys in Vegas, they are decidedly underdogs among the sports chattering class. I can count on one hand, and have extra fingers afterwards, of "experts" who have picked the Rams to win.

Now, they are waiting to shred Sean McVay if the Rams lose on Saturday, along with Jared Goff. They are saying that McVay has never been apart of any coaching staff who has won a playoff game, and that guys are saying that they know McVay and are getting coaching jobs out of the connection...but that ends if McVay loses to the Cowboys Saturday night. Much of this comes from GMFB, but not only from there...They want to group McVay with the HC's that do well in the regular season, but choke in the playoffs. THEY want to blame McVay for the narrative about him and the Rams over the last two seasons, as though McVay controlled editorial decisions in print and other media about him. THEY pumped him up and now wish to tear him down. Peter Schraeger says that he has come to know McVay over the last five years and says the loss to the Falcons last year haunts him. He's watched the game over and over and has broken remotes while watching it.

The Rams have to win, because the pressure is on, and the jackals are waiting if not....

I just listened to a rant about how McVays so call tree is comical in comparison to other coaches. Well yeah first off he’s in his second year as a coach you can’t compare that to Andy Reid and others. But funniest is this media guy dumping on McVay for what other media members are saying. Rams just keep getting dumped on, I so very badly want them to win a shut a few people up.

Meanwhile, I just heard a guy on WFAN talking about the NFL job openings and he said "As long as a guy can say Sean McVay breathed on him he'll be a top candidate"...
He's the hottest thing now, imagine what its going to be like after winning the Superbowl

You worry way to much about what "experts" and the media says or is going to say. Relax and enjoy the ride.
*shrugs...I'm a historian and I know how history often comes from the written record by the "experts." I would like my team to be correctly viewed by history.

McVay’s Rams have lost the only playoff game he’s ever gotten them to. This losing is a pattern. He’s a loser. :blah:

You're worrying about things that haven't even happened yet. If they don't win no one is going to care 20 years from now what was said about them, they lost. The only time in which the losers are remembered is when they were "supposed to win".

Sorry, you do you. I just don't see the point in getting worked up over things that haven't happened yet and possibly won't happen. This and your post a few days ago about "if we win the super bowl it'll be marred in the eyes of the media...." post are alarming to me is all. I would never want to be so consumed by what a group of people that i choose to listen to say to the point that i couldn't even enjoy the super bowl victory of my favorite team. But i guess that's just me.

That's your supposition that I wouldn't enjoy a Super Bowl victory. I never said that.

How do you think Patriot fans feel?
Their multiple titles marred and belittled by always being called cheaters.
Haha.

The narrative by the media sort of makes sense tbh. Goff struggled last year in his first playoffs. Goff struggled down the stretch without Kupp vs good defenses. Gurley is dinged up. Rams defense has been a sieve.

You can't expect media types to realize Rams have a different defense with Talib in there. Or that Goff tends to learn the hard way and doesn't handle new things all that well, but tends to do much better after he's been worked over. Or that Anderson has changed the look of the Rams offensive backfield. And so on and so forth.

I love seeing them all talk BS about the Rams. Should make for a fantastic MEDIA FALLOUT thread if and when we win this game. :p

It’s just talking heads drumming up a story... editors decide what they are going to argue and why. Corporate media wants you to stay tuned, even if it means you are angry, so you can watch and listen to the real content, adverts

The Rams are favourite for good reason. We should worry about Elliot and their D, but provided they keep Prescott contained and force him to beat us, we should be fine. Goff did not play badly in his one playoff loss btw, we coughed up turnovers and couldn’t get their offence off the field... that’s what we should worry about
