plenty of room on the bandwagon.

Yep, especially if we can get a fair few great young players in this year’s draft, and Walker and Scott take the next step.

And now Ivan Herrera with the first three-homer game in the history of the St. Louis Cardinals! Beautiful. I just wish he was better defensively.

No one has hit 3 homers in a game in St Louis Cardinal history before yesterday? Wow!!

With all the great players they have had throughout the years and not 1.

Just wow.

Made a mistake. First catcher.

Oopsie!

I hope that this sudden winning streak doesn't make us think that we're competing with the Cubs and Brewers. We need to hit on that #5 pick and the others, and Arenado, Helsley, Fedde, Mikolas, Matz, and Maton - amongst some others I'm forgetting - have to be dealt. Losing them for nothing would sting. Not even making the playoffs while losing them for nothing would be a punch to the gut.

Please jettison Mikolas and Fedde into the fucking sun and Mozeliak into dark space, please and thank you.

IIIIIIIIT'S DRAFT DAAAY!!!!!

(Please pick JoJo Parker. Or Eli Willits. Or Ethan Holliday if he falls that far - which he likely won't.)

Well, I'm good. with Liam Doyle and - especially - Ryan Mitchell. Tanner Franklin, Cade Crossland, Ethan Young, Matthew Miura, Payton Graham, Ryan Weingartner, Jalin Flores, and my late-round sleeper, Cameron Nickens -don't look at me that way; I nailed the late round sleeper last year with Deniel Ortiz - as non-first round picks. Even Keith Law, a notorious Cardinal hater, loved our draft.

WHY THE FUCK ARE ALL OF OUR MINOR LEAGUE PITCHERS GETTING INJURED?! It was bad enough with Robberse and Hjerpe both with Tommy John at the beginning of the year, then Hence (again, this time ribs) and Mathews (shoulder), then Brian Holiday (undisclosed, out for the year, assuming Tommy John), Chen-Wei Lin (undisclosed, hasn't pitched since early July), and Zack Showalter (shoulder, recovering) joined the category, and now Roby's down with Tommy John, too?!

The fuck did our pitching coaches do to the baseball gods?! THE FUCK DID WE DO?!

(Note: At least Ixan Henderson is actually pitching well. That makes one upper-level minors starting pitcher...total. In our whole organization (don't count McGreevy; he was basically major-league ready).

Our major league pitchers suck, though, unlike yours.

Talk to me about Matz please. Havent seen him pitch since he was a starter. Seems to give up a lot of hits.

Blaze Jordon is a nice bat, development has been slow but this year has been a bit of a jump for him. Struggled at AA but the power seems to be emerging this year again. 22 years old, could be in the show and producing by 2027. Feels like you got him at a good time.

Matz has been one of our better relievers next to Maton (while I love Helsley, his K-rate is at an all-time low, so we dealt him at a good time to the Mets). Lefty, throws hard, multiple secondaries, great command. But more importantly, he’s healthy and pitching with confidence in his new role, and he’ll likely show you his best down the stretch run after he’s been injured the past two years.
